It is simply stunningly breathtaking that she is only 18. Such an incredible talent. I love her spontaneous, youthful energy in everything she does. That mischievous sparkle in her eyes - she is indeed so pretty - is just icing on the cake!

This is what i expect to hear when i want to hear Live Performances. Imperfections, changes, harmonies, instrumentals... they just seemed so real they almost made the performance sound easy to do! It was all so...natural! In the end, i think Tiny Desk is one of the best (if not the best) format when real live performances are involved. And NMIXX.. found the best format, so they can shine even more! Ty for your analysis!!!😊
What I like about this particular comeback is how out of their way NMIXX and their team have gone to make them sing live. Like they’ve been going on “kstar next door”, “maybe singing” and even their KBS K-pop performance like come on. 🔥🔥🔥 I also noticed that they didn’t even go on itslive this comeback.
It seems like the company knows well that the members shine when singing live and they’re looking for good opportunities to proudly show that off - as long as it’s safe and reasonable; I’m all for it!!
Coming from a musician and vocalist, in all honesty. This is the best live raw performance I have ever heard and seen. I have never considered NMIXX as simply idols. To me, they are true artists! The level of vocal skills each member has is almost unheard of, put them together and you get a vocal powerhouse that can quite literally do anything. Not to mention the girls just keep on improving at a very fast pace within a very short time, which goes to prove just how much time the girls put in the vocal room. But to me, I think Kyujin is the most improved since the beginning of this year, even more this past SEE THAT era. Her vocals have become much more stable, her tone more refined, she is slowly but surely getting rid of the nasality, and her breath control has improved greatly. Even her pitch and note accuracy has gotten better, you can tell she's been putting in the work in the vocal room. But what I truly love about this performance, is how much confidence the girls have. With that being said, the girls are able to truly enjoy themselves. This is what singing is all about! NMIXX doesn't sing because it's their job, but they sing because they love it, they enjoy it. I must also mention! That modulation on Lily and Haewon's two part harmony and run on LMLT really caught me off guard 😂. I have been so used to the motif of the original track that I was actually expecting the descending run like they usually do 🤣. But then I realized "yup they're NMIXX", I mean it descended just from a much higher jump off point 😅. Like many here, I have watched that part more than I would like to admit. As a matter of fact, I would like to admit that I have watched the performance more than 20 times 😁. But I have listened to it maybe about....... Well I lost count at 50. Anyway, this performance will go down in the history books 📚 (pun intended).
I really need that blues jazz version of LMLT in spotify, I gasp. I am so excited for their future endeavour after seeing this performance. Sure, it's a small space, still, when you are used to use in-ear, sometimes you couldnt just grasp the rhythm, flow, even pitch correctly to the smallest details in a fast performance at that. I couldnt imagine how hard they had to work for making this performance amidst their busy schedules. Also, all in one take. Just how much they could have grown when they reach their 7 years, I hope many more people will appreciate their massive talents.

Nmixx has been serving good vocals since like pre-debut but the fact that members have the desire to keep learning and improving themselves set them apart from other groups. Like some of the members re-took vocal lessons before recording the new album to ensure they would sound good

Agreed, they are the top in singing and their average dance skills is above average as a group. Rapping wise i think they have sooo much to show and are still holding back, because their technique is really good and they can definitely take on more difficult raps. Their current raps are so melodic and jiwoo especially is incredible rapper, one of the best female rappers of 4th gen.
As the whole package, they are just nº1, but when it comes to singing you just cannot claim that they are better than monsters like Big Mama. Another thing is rap is so overrated by the K-pop kids nowadays, rapping is mostly a skill rather than a talent, they can all clearly rap since they have the attitude, diction and rhythmic skills, another thing is that they are willing to take the time to practice it knowing that their fans want more vocals and dance.

When Lily spent so long as a trainee, I was genuinely worried that JYP wouldn’t place her in a group that was worthy of her talent. When NMIXX debuted, I initially thought JYP had failed. However, over time I’ve seen SQU4D gradually learn how to manage a K-pop group effectively. As for the NMIXX members, JYP didn’t fail Lily. He surrounded her with some of the most talented idols in K-pop. Now, she’s part of one of the most talented K-pop groups in history.
Lily isn't this unheard-of talent that K-pop has never seen, she's been receiving vocal training almost since birth with a relentless work ethic and practice time. SQU4D's only purpose was to make a vocal group after JYP had Mamamoo in his show, he felt real singers were about to go extinct (everyone lip-synced, and live singing was becoming a myth) and wanted to turn things around. It was around that time when he said that famous "people who sing well will never fail" quote like it happened with Mamamoo, "ugly" girls who were beyond popular and respected against all odds and beauty standards. So It was never centered about Lily or any other member. NMIXX is an outstanding group in everything be it singing, dancing, visual, charisma, humor, you name it. Only XG are better dancers than NMIXX (but who is?) and they aren't even K-POP, the Jiwoo, Haewon, Kyujin, Jini combo was just crazy. The hard part about being an idol is NOT just being able to sing well, take note of at all the checkmarks I mentioned above, it's not that hard to find a better vocalist than Mamamoo or NMIXX combined. Still, it's way harder to find a passionate singer, dancer, visual, charismatic, balanced, funny and interesting idol at the level of the NMIXX members.
What made this performance so special for me was just how obvious it was that the girls were having such a great time. I’m so glad they had a chance to show off their skills that they have worked so hard for!!
I just want to say thanks since it was your channel that originally turned me on to NMIXX some months ago. I wasn’t really familiar with them but noticed that you kept bringing them up as an example of a good vocal group so I felt compelled to check them out. I’m so glad I did
NMIXX is a group with best vocals in the whole industry. I have never seen idols as talented as them in live singing, literally there is not even a single member that is behind everyone. Each of them *can* sing and they do it so well. And they sing live so often, it's honestly incredible
I don't want those other fandoms to say that their fave group will be the best vocalist, will Infact I want proofs I don't want it's live, or performance something like that cuz I know some of that is EDITED obviously and I'm done with those shitty, I want them to prove it on tiny desk Korea, if they really are that good and if they pass those requirements on tiny desk. The naked king is the K-pop industry, and the people who admire the king's "outfit" are K-pop fans, and nmixx is a boy who shouts "WAKE UP, THE KING IS NAKED!"
I've been admiring them from the sidelines for a long time, but with this comeback and yes, the Tiny Desk performance, they've shot right up to the tops of my favourite kpop groups. NMIXX is simply superb!

with 'tiny desk' & N-MIXX, somehow make feel like OST. as 'run for roses' like a song they sing before the war and follow with 'see that?' as epic war fight scene in an epic movie see in IMAX digital, and i love it so much. I would say multiple of the members weren't in their best conditions, they barely slept before filming it, and they have been getting cold one after the one for a while 😭
@@rabit1377 yes! in this comeback with "see that", they had so much content, members were very busy even at the stage of creating the album, and also after they had a lot of shows and etc, and besides, the girls are also preparing for concerts. But even so, they really sound great! It's not for nothing that they are the most talented group in recent years.

She will use her voice not only through singing but also speaking just like how she was overworked for nonstop shooting for jtbc, workdol & mbc shows & isac mc. The best way is for div4 to tone down any belting or highnote.
I guess thats the reason why they did not let Lily have high notes on See That?. Also, when Sullyoon did high notes on Dice, after that SQU4D limited her lines and pushed Haewon on high notes. I believe that SQU4D knows and monitors their vocal. Its just Lily is way skillful that she can do it but maybe next comeback it will be the same structure to limit Lily straining her chords. What I observed recently is that Bae and Kyujin have been doing more lines and especially Kyujin that with more training she can belt. She might be pushed next comeback to take high notes.

Thanks for another great video! I love seeing these groups that raise the bar for vocal performances. I think Nmixx, Aespa, and Blackswan have the best vocals of the newer generation. Are you going to do an analysis of Blackswan's vocals? They've done Arirang radio with no backtrack and then there was their It's Live! performance. Even certain stages you can hear them singing over the backtracking. I'm especially interested in your take on Nvee's performance and what has changed over time. It seems she really struggled with her diaphragm at first (as a fellow asthmatic, that's what it sounded like to me), but I'm this last comeback her breathing sounds more stable. As a professional, you can probably hear what's going on better, so I'd love to see a breakdown.
Because it’s more real I guess. An artist will always sound better if they sing their songs live, they interpret it how they want to. Also the band was so impressive and added flavour to their songs.

When Lily spent so long as a trainee, I was genuinely worried that JYP wouldn’t place her in a group that was worthy of her talent. When NMIXX debuted, I initially thought JYP had failed. However, over time I’ve seen SQU4D gradually learn how to manage a K-pop group effectively. As for the NMIXX members, JYP didn’t fail Lily. He surrounded her with some of the most talented idols in K-pop. Now, she’s part of one of the most talented K-pop groups in history.
I honestly believe that nmixx was built around lily.

Lily isn't this unheard-of talent that K-pop has never seen, she's been receiving vocal training almost since birth with a relentless work ethic and practice time. SQU4D's only purpose was to make a vocal group after JYP had Mamamoo in his show, he felt real singers were about to go extinct (everyone lip-synced, and live singing was becoming a myth) and wanted to turn things around. It was around that time when he said that famous "people who sing well will never fail" quote like it happened with Mamamoo, "ugly" girls who were beyond popular and respected against all odds and beauty standards. So It was never centered about Lily or any other member. NMIXX is an outstanding group in everything be it singing, dancing, visual, charisma, humor, you name it. Only XG are better dancers than NMIXX (but who is?) and they aren't even K-POP, the Jiwoo, Haewon, Kyujin, Jini combo was just crazy. The hard part about being an idol is NOT just being able to sing well, take note of at all the checkmarks I mentioned above, it's not that hard to find a better vocalist than Mamamoo or NMIXX combined. Still, it's way harder to find a passionate singer, dancer, visual, charismatic, balanced, funny and interesting idol at the level of the NMIXX members.
NMIXX will join Billboard Latin Music Week 2024. They were invited for October 16th, it will be in Miami, Florida ♥

NMIXX is a group with best vocals in the whole industry. I have never seen idols as talented as them in live singing, literally there is not even a single member that is behind everyone. Each of them *can* sing and they do it so well. And they sing live so often, it's honestly incredible

I've been admiring them from the sidelines for a long time, but with this comeback and yes, the Tiny Desk performance, they've shot right up to the tops of my favourite kpop groups. NMIXX is simply superb!

I would say multiple of the members weren't in their best conditions, they barely slept before filming it, and they have been getting cold one after the one for a while 😭

I guess thats the reason why they did not let Lily have high notes on See That?. Also, when Sullyoon did high notes on Dice, after that SQU4D limited her lines and pushed Haewon on high notes.
I believe that SQU4D knows and monitors their vocal. Its just Lily is way skillful that she can do it but maybe next comeback it will be the same structure to limit Lily straining her chords.
What I observed recently is that Bae and Kyujin have been doing more lines and especially Kyujin that with more training she can belt. She might be pushed next comeback to take high notes.

Thanks for another great video! I love seeing these groups that raise the bar for vocal performances. I think Nmixx, Aespa, and Blackswan have the best vocals of the newer generation.
Are you going to do an analysis of Blackswan's vocals? They've done Arirang radio with no backtrack and then there was their It's Live! performance. Even certain stages you can hear them singing over the backtracking.
I'm especially interested in your take on Nvee's performance and what has changed over time. It seems she really struggled with her diaphragm at first (as a fellow asthmatic, that's what it sounded like to me), but I'm this last comeback her breathing sounds more stable. As a professional, you can probably hear what's going on better, so I'd love to see a breakdown.
