Goosepimples all over listening to this. JDB, what a treasure you are! I really could happily listen to his voice all day, every day, for the rest of my life.
To play the song with passion and be heartfelt all the time thinking Allen is behind me no pressure, camera pans to Allen , Allen nodding along in appreciation, bradfield is a quality singer and great guitarist this gives me goosebumps. A song I couldn't stand when it was released but however many years later I am in total love with. Pretty much the same story for all my favourite songs.

Loving the acoustic version of this. I'm quarter Spanish and I see them at benicasim 2014 in spain. Felt poignant. Bout the only band that don't write just about love. All the best artists and bands are underrated :) We all know the Manics piss over Oasis and Coldplay and U2 and all the bigger commercial bands but they don't need the limelight..
Manics are great. Coldplay are better. U2 are fucking legends if you know your history, and oasis...I'll give you that; i like oasis but manics do seem to have the faintest touch of higher quality. But oasis are fantastic also
Manics are better than those bands by a lyrical country mile. They are better by a musical furlong too in my opinion (I've heard James play live, so it's kinda hard to dispute). But mainstream music isn't about pushing boundaries and exploring the full scope, including the bad, of the human experience...

I've always thought The Manics' recording style doesn't do justice to their songs. It all sounds too similar to me. I think James would've benefited from having a musician alongside him him in the mould of Coxon or Greenwood. I'd say the same of Noel.
2024 and how more true are these words. Great tune by a great band
Stellar rendition of an astounding song. Bradfield is so talented and globally underrated.
100%
I love the way he does stripped back versions of so many of their songs, really brings out the melodies.
and a good man also
writing a song about the Spanish civil war and getting it to number one in the charts = the whole reason the manics exist
It’s more about the International brigade that was mostly made up off Welsh, Scots and Irish who for the right money fought for both sides.

Nicky Wire really hit this one out of the park lyrically
JDB brought it to life with them incredible vocals
Love Manics 🤘🏼
I love the little fills on the piano. Decorates the song perfectly.
Piano and acoustic guitar is such a lovely combo.
