Stayed here back in April for our high school band trip. Had me questioning reality the whole time. I'd like to go back around Christmas... if only it wasn't so expensive lol
Its even prettier at night with all the lights in the trees. I went in 2008 before the floods in 2010 really wrecked the place. Took them months to reopen. I remember there being more greenery and trees. I wonder how it has changed now compared to the pre flood era. It was absolutely amazing going here. The atriums were great and the themed lands were really nice. Its just a shame that the formerly adjacent Opryland had to close down years ago and get turned into a mall. The mall was nice but a theme park would have been better.
Hi Jonathan, thank you for that insight. We had no idea (or most likely forgotten) about the flood. We went there in 2013 and again this year so didn’t feel any difference except some of the trees and plants were bigger.
We go every christmas but we dont stay here! We watch ICE! and do the carriage ride and ice skating! Alot of fun. We park at opry mills mall and walk over, free parking in mall.
A very informative video . Nice soothing music at appropriate intervals . The resort appears to be a very Grand place for a vacation , a little on the expensive side though . Are the informal food options expensive too ? You guys are getting better with each new video and what I do like is that they are not too long . 👏
I went 14 years ago on a visit. You can go to all the shops and go all over the hotel without having to book a room. Its a full day experience that is well worth it. I would personally though stay at a cheaper hotel and just drive from there to visit here at my leisure. They had some of the best ice cream I have ever had and the italian food was great. They also have a big fountain show at night with colored lights.
Thank you and you are right, it does give one a pause for a moment. Looking at it online Gaylord is a name of French Origin and comes from the word Gaillard and has been in decline since the early 1900s. As for the hotel, they got their name from Gaylord Entertainment group which was started by the Gaylord and Dickinson families in 1903
Post update after enjoying my stay there, it was the most beautiful hotel in the world! Only thing that sucked was the rooms had no kitchen or even microwave so it forces you to go out and spend even more money, as if you are not already paying 500$ a night lol
I known I'm late but your comment is incorrect. The oprymills mall beside opryland hotel is what replaced the theme park. Opryland hotel has been there since 1977 and was there right next to the theme park. Blame the mall, not the list beautiful hotel.
If anyone was wondering, you dont to pay to walk around the hotel and go to the shops. You just have to pay if you want to stay overnight.
Went here for an orchestra school trip in 2022 and I still can’t get over it
Wow!! What a beautiful place to visit. ❤
Yes it sure is, and maybe even better to stay there a couple of nights
I went Dec 2019 and the lights were amazing!
Thank you for a great informative video. Plan to go in June 2023!
Thank you @hearthappy2242 for your feedback! Glad you found the video informative.

💯agree! Beautiful but very expensive
I have been there twice. Stayed a week both times. It is amazing. Really enjoyed both stays. It is close to so many other places to visit as well.
Totally agree! This is a great hotel experience. Can’t wait to stay here again
No fake flowers, plants or trees - it’s all real & they are all healthy. Would love to go back.

It's really amazing at night. It's the most calming ambiance

How about French Lick Indiana!!? Check that out, I think that's a weird name. ;)
Sure, we will. And yes we agree with you
Is it open for all who will not live there?
Yes, even if you don't stay there, you can go for a walk, shop and eat at a restaurant there like we did
Its so sad how this used to be a place that had rides and attractions before it was turned into this I miss you opryland
Thanks for sharing.
You probably don’t care but I booked it because of all the nature and the coasters woulda really turned me off

Best part is the pools

Had been there 4 times ever since 1996.😂
Swear I'm not trying to make fun of you but sometimes your voice reminds me of Ross from Friends 😂
Not at all. As huge fans of Friends and Ross, we take that as a compliment 😀
I used to work there
Thanks for the comment. Hope it was a fun job
