Wow. This is why motion pictures are the greatest entertainment known on earth. These 2 exhibit class while remaining humble to the history of the franchise and respecting the audience and legions of fans. I teared up toward the end.
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli's acceptance speech was such a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of James Bond and the countless individuals who contributed to its success.
Well done! Well deserved. Thank you both for carrying forward the torch of this remarkable and wonderfully entertaining franchise - with acknowledgement to all those who have worked so hard for decades. May you continue to hold it high!
He Michael has been in the most James bond film I think it 17 tied with the actor who played Q. His first was gold finger in 1964 . It's incredible 60 years
Sadly, the last two major stars of the Golden Era, Leslie Caron and Kim Novak, now both on their 90s will almost certainly pass away without receiving an Hononary Oscar. Too many of the Academy voters have no idea what An American in Paris or Vertigo are. Tragic.
It's difficult to find the next james bond.....Think about Sean Connery;George Lazenby (one year);Roger moore;Timothy Dalton; Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.
@@carolinajuliacelasso6500 The choice is obvious...God grew Henry Cavill on the James Bond tree for this singular purpose. No further research required. :)
The fact that Skyfall and Spectre basically had the same plot they need to go back to the beginning. Make it a period piece and take it back to the Cold War.
Congratulations to you both. A terrible tragedy that you allowed the ego of DC to kill James Bond in the last film but hopefully someone someday will correct that destructive film and pick up the baton than Cubby, Harry and the other actors and unbelievably skilled crews helped bring to life.
What ego ? Actor's have been giving ideas for movies since 60s. Daniel Craig doesn't control the franchise, if majority of people who invest money in these films wouldn't agree with idea to kill bond, it wouldn't happen.
I like cinema, I like good actors and I like film score and music themes. Therefore I love James Bond. If you are interested in cinema, you have so much more than just a spy-action-flick. Great actors, outstanding music, iconic settings and stunts embedded in atmospheric movies. The James Bond film series - I do not look at it as a franchise - avoided many mistakes others made. [...] Nonetheless it stayed up to date and relevant over decades. Thank you. 🔫📡💎⌚🍸
@@Denis-89 so far there is not a single hint that it is going to continue. Not even in this speech. In fact, the sole reason for them receiving it - is because it's over!
@@tk80mufa5 there is a hint in them saying that it will continue. And they are looking for male actors in mid-30s or 40s. They do not want to rush it and why should they?
@@Denis-89 i'm only a casual fan , not like that David Zaritzky guy or the people like him. However, the argument, that letting the gap between movies within the franchise become too big ( might make a "return" more and more difficult ) - is indeed a good argument. If i am not mistaken, NTTD was finished in 2020 (?) , we are going into 2025 with no indication or press release, that anything at all is in the pipeline.
@@tk80mufa5 there was a six year wait between Timothy Dalton and pierce Brosnan. Be patient! They need the time they need to make these movies. That you seem to think it is a dead franchise speaks only for you..

Congratulations Michael and Barbara for keeping the legacy of the films
“When producer credits are handed out like party favors” - what a great observation.
You have given us by far the best film franchise in movie history. Thank you.
Hearty congratulations to both of you 🤝👍👏👏from India 😊
Thank You for bringing Bond into the 21st century. You have made a legacy above and beyond your own! Again Thabk You both
Awesome! Congratulations for this award! I love Oscar & USA 🇺🇸
Congratulations Barbara and Michael. Wonderful films along the way, thank you.
Congratulations , can’t wait for the next James Bond movie 👏

I thought the Thalberg award trophy was a bust of Irving Thalberg and not a statuette
it was, until now apparently
The changed the rules a few years ago, now all honorary awards are statues
This is awesome
Congratulations for making us dream all these years.
God Bless them both...
I like that place
When is John Carpenter gonna get his?

Hes looking like sean connery
Was hoping for the big announcement of who will be the next Bond … curses 😩
We just got out of pandemic and writer's strike in Hollywood, relax, next bond will take time. Even new batman film got delayed.
Well deserved. But have they produced anything besides Bond?
EON do occasionally make non-Bond films - recent examples are Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool and Till.
Yes. A lot.
A lot, actually.
🎉
we don't need reboot 007 film just left go now

That's what they get? 😂 For putting Bond into a coffin? 😂
Upside down world : bury the franchise you inherit > receive an Oscar! 😂
You do know there will be more Bond movies right?
They produced them long before Daniel Craig stepped in
