I'm a beginner. I started collecting items and found that it doesn't take long to get a lot. I have learned some things that no one has mentioned in their videos. I'm glad I found your channel.
This is absolutely gorgeous! I love how you combined the colours! And I learned a lot on how to make such an ephemera holder, I am planning one for myself, but haven't had the right mood to start... Your video gave me much motivation to try it! And.... I am a bit jealous as well, you have wonderful stuff to play with! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much Luise! You actually inspired me first! When I watched the spreads you did in your altered book journal. You definitely do need to be in the right mood to start. It took me awhile. Thanks for letting me showcase your digital artwork! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Alice! It does feel really good to have everything organized. Although this is probably as neat and organized as it will ever be once I start digging in there and using it. lol
Beautiful ephemera holder. The kit makes it so elegant. It like the way you made your pockets with the tape or cardstock reinforcing the bottoms. Thanks for sharing how you figured out how to organize your stickers and plan your pages.
I love it!!! I have start one, but it sits in a nice neat pile. I used velum paper though. I also have a box of those plastic projector sheets :-). Are you going to do a tutorial making your stamp book. I have a lot of stamps too. Your right , you don't really know how much you have until you start bring them all out to sort. Thank you for your wonderful share Sharon!!!
This is SO beautifully done! You did such a great job pairing Luise's digitals with other decorative paper not in the kit. Luise will be so pleased with what you have made! Top notch design and workmanship!
SOOO... That 1st page with the Owl is "SCREAMING AT ME!" I've been collecting very specific types of things to make a Journal for my Mom! I've never made her anything other than a handmade card so I know she'd be just "Over the Moon" if I can actually get the vision from my mind out into a functional Journal. She was born in 1959. She was, is & always will be "A True Hippie!" I'm hoping to do a bit of a mix... Of Hippie, Boho, Gypsy...With lots of fun colors & prints... But also include a bit of Shabby-Chic, Vintage, Images & Ephemera that will bring back memories of her childhood; Along with some of her Favorite Things...One of which just happens to be OWLS!!! There's just something about the Owl you used on the 1st page that's ... The ONLY words that come to mind are "PURE MAGIC!" ***PLEASE*** Tell me there's still a chance I might be able to get my hands on a copy of that page!!! I have ZERO DOUBT that My Mom would fall 'Head-Over-Heals' IN-LOVE with that Beautiful Owl! •°•PLEASE LMK if there's anything I might could possibly do to have The Honor of getting a Copy of that 1st page... Or even Just The Owl; If that'd be any easier to accomplish!!! I love everything about this Ephemera Holder! It really is THE PERFECT Size & your construct literally looks FLAWLESS! ...Again, I'd appreciate & be EXTREMELY Grateful for any information, suggestions, advice, etc... On how I could possibly be granted The Honor of getting to somehow include the same image you used in the 1st page of this book~Into a very special Journal I'm making for My Mom's Christmas Gift!!! ~🙏💙🙏Much Gratitude, Erica🙏💙🙏~
Hi Erica. That owl page is from a digital kit by Luise Heinzl. Here is the link to her shop. Your journal sounds wonderful! www.etsy.com/listing/937438378/
@@kmpease I have printed it from the kit I linked above. It is on one of the journal pages and prints out quite large when I print the full page. The owl is on the left side of the page and two birds are on the right side of the page.
this is so perfect. I am like, you, very organized. I need to see everything in my studio. and now that I am crafting I want to be able to see what I have available. I can tell this was a wonderfully thought-out piece and process and is very inspiring. thank you for sharing :)
I would love to see the stamp holder creation process! Is there any way you could turn that into tutorial videos? This is really beautiful, and the way you mixed the bird/floral pages and background pages was brilliant. I think I actually have some transparency film somewhere…🤔
Thanks so much! I have a list of tutorial ideas, so I will definitely add that one. As you know, I don't do them very often. I find it hard working in front of the camera! 😊
Hi Sharon, it's lovely, TFS. I subscribed too. A question about your way of binding with fabric. Did you stitch the 8 sigs to the fabric first and then glue it to the cardboard hidden spine or stitch to both at the same time? Was it all hand stitching? Is the hidden spine wider than the spine so that the sides only are glued to the book, leaving the gap? Thank you so much. This is Kimberly Wulfert, so you can PM if this isn't clear.:)
Hi Kimberly! Thanks so much for subscribing. I will try to explain my binding here. I first glued a cardboard strip the width of my spine to the back side of the fabric. The fabric I made one inch wider on each side of the spine so I could glue the whole block to the covers at the end. I punched my binding holes through the fabric and cardboard and used a 5-hole pamphlet stitch to sew my signatures to the piece. Lastly, I glued the extended fabric sides to the book boards leaving the center spine width free to create the hollow back. Hopefully that makes sense. Let me know if you have any further questions!
@@SharonHoerth TY Sharon. That's how I've done a hidden spine BUT I glued the cardboad down into the book's spine. So thanks for this, I'm going to try it. I like how flat yours lies.

Sharon this is so well put together....and so pretty! Are the background papers you used also digitals that are available to purchase?~Wendy
Thanks Wendy! Yes, those are digitals, but I bought them from Twelvepaperss on Etsy who it appears is no longer selling. 🙁
This is the most beautiful organizer I’ve seen! Would you be willing to make one to sell?
Thank you so much Michelle! I don’t have any plans to sell ephemera holders. Journal orders are keeping me busy. Sorry! 🙏💝
Very handsome
