As a qb coach there’s no way you miss that swing route with the man coverage give away, there’s no way you miss that that an easy read that’s unforgivable
Commanders fan here, I have enjoyed watching Howell (a lot more than our last few quarterbacks), but being so high in the draft it is really tempting to go after a high level rookie especially if Arizona or Chicago choose not to draft a QB and we can get Drake Maye. BUt what I really want to see regardless of QB is a new offensive coach, even if Rivera is kept on in some capacity I'd love to see a new guy because EB has not impressed this year.
It sounds like Ron Rivera is out after the season. And I agree, I had high hopes for Bieniemy - coming in trying to prove he was a bigger part of KC's success than people gave him - but he's just put so much pressure on Howell through his scheming these last few games in particular. Not a lot of shorter outlets for him, passing constantly... just not putting a young QB who's hit a rough patch in many positions to succeed from my eye.
The o line is 90% the problem. His o line dug this hole he's in. In most snaps Sam has less than 3 seconds to complete a play and alot of time less than 2 seconds. No qb can can hold up against that.they will develop happy feet or get hurt . All the sacks Sam took I'm amazed he didn't get hurt.
He avg. over 35 passing attempts his first year starting on a team with a bad coach and mediocre WRs and bad oline. Good thing this year Washington picked up a better supporting cast for Jayden Daniel’s.
Give him an actual chance and build around him. This was his first year with zero O-line. You have to give them time like Josh Allen or have them in a great situation like Brock Purdy.
7:34 the ball was almost intercepted of most brisest good luck comes from sitting on bench he’s able take in the defense coverages without his head get smashed every play for basically all of the season u can make up excuses for the oline but none of them hold ground when get pressure every play with the worst oline in team history of course he’s gonna miss throws because of pressure when get sacked at least 3-4 time a game u worry causing bad plays I don’t think it comparable to other qb because they’ve never had this bad of oline one or two bad games will happen Sam Howell had great 10 game stretch then has those games and now all of a sudden a guy sat on the bench has one good game he’s better make no sense me also whatever rookie comes in will be like Bryce young that just fact this point nothing they can do in the offseason or draft can fix all or most holes they have and won’t be surprised if we see rg3 2.0
Okay, 2nd vid of yours in one day & _THIS _*_IS_* an *EXCELLENT* video. I think that Mahomes being in the league has made fans & teams impatient with rookie QBs & you may be right, Howell may not be developed yet. Of course, at the time of commenting, he's been traded. You know how the Chargers keep Chargering? Mismanagement in this organization preceded Dan Snyder & the mishandling of Bienemy & Howell seems to indicate more of the same: simply throwing out the baby with the bath-water only to repeat the same mistakes with the next people. Again, excellent video!
When it was just EB and Sam against the world it was a different story. When the defense was the main storyline with six first rounders and ranked at the bottom Ron did a pivot. He began taking credit with Sam’s development and success. That’s when it went down hill. Watch the first 9 games and how Ron rarely talked about Sam and avoided him on sidelines. Anything Ron touches turns to garbage. Unfortunately, new owners not only created more issues not firing Ron, they will never get the golden opportunity of watching EB as head coach. Two major losses on top of Ron playing mind games with this kid. Luckily, for Sam he has EB in his corner.
100% - the fact the outside linebacker gets up and tries to follow him right before the snap makes it worse, too. It’s the exact look you want on a wheel route like that.
Jacoby is fresh with 10 years XP, Sam has has his ass beat for 10 straight games before he started falling off, he said "im tired boss" mix that with the horrible play calling from EB and any will suck.
People didn't have tape on Sam. It usually takes 8 games for defenses to know how to attack a QB and scheme. People are open a lot, and I think Sam is struggling with the verbiage of the offense, becuase they busted a good number of plays. He will improve, but it doesn't help anyone to scapegoat.
I'll tell you like I've said from week 1. NO run game, bad playcalling, WORST O line in league, RR, and Del Rio should've been gone two years ago! There, thats what went wrong.. problems any fan would've adressed immediately. Josh Harris is Just another Dan Snyder but drunk all the time.
Sam made a lot of mistakes and bad decisions, but the team didn't do anything to help him to grow either. In fact it seems like they did the exact opposite.
@@arizonaron7814raw pass attempts aren't the story. His most effective games came in high pass total games. The ramp up in competition and dealing with being an NFL QB is the issue. People harped on the sacks and getting Terry the ball. He had too many things to think about. However, he created a lot of issues for himself in game, and probably wasn't ready to be an unquestionable starter. Normally, you don't force a QB to be the starter the first year of a West Coast offense, but that was Ron's descion last year before changing the offense. A lot of Washington fans are mad at EB for how Ron constructed this team.
what went wrong is that they put sam behind one of the worst o-lines in washington memory. it's not sam's fault if the front office is unable to judge college talent and makes the worst draft picks imaginable. of all their 1st round picks only daron payne and allen are still around. and no, i didn't forget forbes jr. i'm just too embarrassed to admit that he was a 1st round pick. the poor guy is too slow to cover anyone and is too thin to tackle anyone. wtf were they thinking? until we hire a genuine gm who can draft talented players, no qb in washington can be called, 'the guy'.
So the rough four weeks has nothing to do with strength of schedule, or what plays were called or a lousy OL or the opponents figuring out what plays B calls, right? Howell is as good as Mayfield. We can replace our QB every year and get nowhere. We are weaker in the OL than we are at QB. Any other QB is going to be running for his life with this OL. Figure it out and STOP thinking this is just a QB problem.
@@Ripthatshitsfr Yet, Brissett is an 8 year vet and still a journeyman. Howell is a rookie, playing in a bad team and perhaps trying to hard. Besides of trying to stay "alive". I rather keep Howell, draft to improve the OL, DB and LB group. That and a different coaching team should be an improvement. Then if Howell does not work draft a QB.
@@Ripthatshitsfr Brissett was brought in in the second half of one game where we were behind enough they were playing prevent defense. of course he was going to make first downs.
@@mariopi4038 Howell is a bargain this year coming and does anyone think we're going to turn things around in one season? yes we can draft a QB in 25 or we can draft someone in a late round and see how he develops.
Generally I don't care for comparisons. But when one watches video of two players at the same position, one can sometimes see what one otherwise would miss. Here's a perfect example: two QBs on the same film. One is being labelled as 'Generational,' th-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/w-d-xo.html. The other is better. If you count the # of times each QB places the ball poorly, either by inches or by miles, the other QB is far more accurate a passer. But you can only see it when seen together. I wonder what we'd see if we played Howell footage against Will Levis'. There are similarities. Both take chances looking for home run balls & can throw 'em. But Levis has been taking fewer sacks despite what looks like a terrible o-line as well. Something feels off here. There's something we're not seeing. I wonder if playing their highlights next to each other could reveal it?
To Washington Redskins fans. New ownership is not committed or aggressive enough to make the right decisions. Culture issues is because of ownership. New ownership accepted this behavior, culture and losing. They were given a golden opportunity after the Bears game to say we’ve seen enough. They created more issues now then ever before. At least Jay Gruden was about “coaching up” players. In regards to Redskins team not existing anymore that part is true. That franchise is over with. This is an expansion team. Thank woke Ron for the name change and the ridiculous new name. Go Bears! ( after they fleece Washington in the draft )
You have to be in your 60s with this idiotic take 😂😂😂 I don’t like Ron, but he had nothing to do with the name change. Jay gruden was a bad coach, not a leader of men. Ownership did the right thing in firing Ron and will strip this roster piece by piece. Leave if you want to, you won’t be missed

A young qb needs a running game…

2:13 is a baaaaadddd play. Look at the RB wide open for the TD, he doesn’t come off his first read, and throws to a defended man.
