- We speak with Josh Paul, a former State Department official who resigned last month to protest continued arms sales to Israel amid its bombardment of Gaza, writing in a viral letter that one-sided U.S. support for Israel is “shortsighted,” “destructive” and “contradictory.” Media reports say many others inside the State Department are equally frustrated with the U.S. role in the conflict. Paul tells Democracy Now! he tried to raise his concerns with his superiors but found “no appetite for that discussion” and that unlike all other U.S. arms sales that take humanitarian concerns into account, Israel gets a blank check. Paul says the overall message inside the Biden administration is: “Don’t question the policy because it’s coming from the top.”

This is exactly why I quit the U.S. military. Nobody wants to question the civilian leadership and their terrible questionable judgment. This same civilian leadership full of career politicians sent me and my generation into Iraq and Afghanistan for 20 years all to replace the Taliban with… the Taliban, now with U.S. weaponry.

To be not gutless, then the genocide has to be carried, as history has proven none other methods worked, study why the Arabs didn’t wanting to adopting any more Palestinians refugees, the history has taught us well.

This palestine-israel conflict only shows us the stupid people among us. Every educated people should be on Israel's side. And even if you are not on Israel's side, it doesn't matter. Israel has by law every right to fck up palestinians at this point, after what they have done. Meaning invading gaza strip / palestine completely. Hamas is hiding in civilian areas, carrying out military operations, instead of trying to move the war to non-residental areas. So therefore, Israel has a legal right to consider these civilian/residental areas as a military target. Even if there are civilians. These casualtias are the responsibility of the defender.
- Article 28 of the 1949 Geneva Convention IV provides: “The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations.”
- Pursuant to Article 8(2) of the 1998 ICC Statute, “Utilizing the presence of a civilian or other protected person to render certain points, areas or military forces immune from military operations” constitutes a war crime in international armed conflicts.
Hamas is breaking this rule constantly, their military plan basically completely depends on this. Using civilians as a shield, then blaming Israel for causing the casualties that are literally the fault of Hamas.
Also, palestinians are not innocent. They have elected Hamas into the power (in 2006 If i remember it right), and at least I haven't seen any proof of palestinian people demonstrating against the actions of Hamas (the terrorist organisation). Therefore, we can CLEARLY conclude that their actions are at least to some extent accepted by palestinians (and there is a lot of other evidence behind this as well.)
Israel is the country being attacked by terrorists (Hamas, palestinians), Israel's attack on Gaza and West Bank is defense operation, not offensive operation. Hamas in the other hand is carrying OFFENSIVE operations, not defensive operations. So, any demonstrations condemning Israel are completely pointless, they will change nothing. They have every right to defend their country, and rights. And they will do so, no matter what anyone thinks.
And anyways, it doesn't matter what you all idiots think about the conflict. Israel will now move on to invading and probably annexing palestine, and therefore most likely eternally ending their chance for independence. They already have had way too many chances for that, but continuously shown no respect for efforts regarding it (two state solution, for example). And their political actions also are really offensive, and breaks many international laws.

I agree 💯% about everything you said, my American wife of 30 years was sick and a lot of pressure was put on me because my finances got screwed up w/ high cost tax system and was advised to send my wife to nursing home which they didn't do their job and are hall of shame , government system didn't want to pay more for treatment and signed her to hospis to give her 3 or 4 times morphine to avoid extra cost . Our nursing home are a mess, government doesn't care for our elderly, homeless situation, or other important things but can tax us to death to pay Israel for genocide .
My wife passed away 3 weeks ago and I am grieving and mourning badly, I can't get her out of my mind .

It won't matter who you vote for. They all support Israel and their American counterparts who donate millions to their campaigns. Republicans in congress just passed a bill to fund Israel 14+ billion for Israel's "war effort". Yet they are fighting about giving Ukraine who is fighting the Russians a penny!
Democrats really blew it with this unqualified support of Israel....as always ... especially right now in the midst of their ethnic cleansing campaign. As a lifelong Democratic voter I'm seriously thinking about sitting all future elections out completely. It goes against every fiber of my being but I don't know what else to do anymore.
