Second story: wow, OP is a really bad friend. Of course, video games aren’t the real world, but what a horrible way to react to a friends coping mechanism. The poor friend likely has nothing much else to talk about with his friends at the moment since he isn’t doing a lot right now. Even if OP does not care at all about his new hobby, she should’ve at least feigned some interest (like a decent person would).
Op sounds like a horrible person to be around.
I mean,many of her friends cut her off which kind of explains a lotttttt, and she herself says they’ve been waiting to cut her off, which means this behavior of hers is not a one off thing, sounds like she’s super controlling and super bitc*hy too. That guy can benefit from interacting in outside world ,sure,but honestly, him cutting off contact with this op will help him even more coz this op sounds horrible.

story 2, i am disabled and in a pretty similar situation. op also clearly doesnt understand the reality of dating as a disabled person. overall they seem extremely dismissive and lacking empathy. the real world is full of inaccessibility, ableism, and other constraints that come with disability. i see an element of escapism but everybody engages in escapism to some degree. op is the ass hole to not do anything practical to help/support his friend to get out/be more active if it matters so much instead of discouraging him from hobbies that make him happy. maybe he just likes the game, and isnt trying to use as a "fake life"
oh yeah btw d&d and similar games are ROLE PLAYING games so dating a character is absolutely normal!
Story 1 : reminds me of this game of taking away the chair when a friend is about to sit down until s/he fall on her/his ass. Problem is when the individual falls hard enough on the tailbone and this type of incident causes paralysis. Happens a few times and gets into the news.

Story 2: YTA. OP acts as if playing one game will suddenly make someone into a grass avoiding hermit. OP, you are not a better person for hating on someone's hobby that you think is beneath you. You clearly do not understand how disabilities work. Just because a disabled person seems fine to you, it doesn't mean they are. I understand that you want to help, but acting like a jerk (or using "tough love" as some assholes put it to downplay their words and actions) is not going to make him wanna hang out with you more. He was right to block you and leave the group. He doesn't need to be around people that won't support him or even let him gush about his new, highly more accessible, hobby.
I have a disability that makes me self-conscious about going outside due to it. I already struggle going outside again due to it acting up and I had it front of people... I only go outside now if I'm with my husband as he's my rock and helps me calm down. and even though he's not medically trained, he knows what to do to help me when they act up.
I normally stick to online, as it's easy to get off of something quickly I know that'll be harmful and make my disability to act up unlike being in the real-world. So I completely understand why the friend would prefer the game over real-life as he has something to have that control over and it made him happy.
OP is a complete dick and I hope this would be the wake-up call, I highly doubt OP would get their friends back, and if they keep pushing the friends that don't want to pick sides, to pick their side, they'll lose them as well.
OP should've been happy that their friend was slowly getting better, who knows, the game probably would've helped him to slowly get back into the real world, perhaps not in the way OP would've wanted but the friend could've went to cons(I don't know how to spell the proper name) and met people there.
I hope the friend never talks to OP again, I hope the friend gets better.
Story 2- seeing as friends within that group were looking for a reason to unfriend OP I'd say there's a good chance he's just an every day AH.
Story: I can tell that no one likes this girl. No one wants anything to do with her but, she just ignores it. I would just ghost her and move on. She's not a nice person at all. I don't think anyone would miss her.

The second story is so funny to me because OP thinks every video gamer has no social life which for the most part is not true and I think OP expects her friend group to like every single hobby she do😂😂😂😭
