      Haha nice! Have you seen the other elevators in this building? There's the freight, high rise, low rise, and the parking.

    • @ex5138
      @ex5138 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never been to this building, but I would like to visit in the future. Do you have videos of the other elevators?

    • @stlelevators
      @stlelevators  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ex5138 I have videos of them, and this is a private building so please don't go here without permission.

      Ok, good. I'll make sure to check them out. Don't worry, I don't live anywhere near Chicago.

      Me too! I like riding this one more than the passenger, but you risk getting the other one which is way slower!

      @@stlelevators if u like these fast Otis lifts, definitely try the water club tower at the borgata hotel in Atlantic City. Those Otis lifts are rocketships for only 30 landings ;) only downside is u have to be a guest at the hotel to ride the lifts

    So many buttons and brails! Most definitely SCS brand. I work for SCS Elevator Products in Red Wing, MN and we make parts for Otis as well as Kone and Thyssenkrupp so considering this is an Otis elevator it uses our products.

    That PANEL tho!

  • @caus909
    @caus909 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wait, you say that it's in the same shaft as a passenger elevator? How does that work? How do the two cars not collide with each other if it's in the same shaft?

    • @stlelevators
      @stlelevators  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's one long rectangular shaft. There's three cars that are inside of it (not on top of each other).

    • @caus909
      @caus909 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stlelevators you mean they are side by side then?
      But if that's the case, in the video, you spoke of the rear panel that opens in the passenger area on the passenger floors only and that it can't be called from that side. How does it work then? I think like I'm missing something important...

    • @stlelevators
      @stlelevators  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they are side by side. There are three elevators in this shaft: the two high rise (23-55) and then this service car. The freight car is in its own shaft and the low rise have their own as well. If you notice the panel on the back only goes from 23-55 which is the same set of floors served by the high rise. From the service area (shown in the beginning of this video), the call buttons call either this car or the freight car. From the main hallway on floors 23-55, the buttons can only call the two passenger cars. You can exit this car on floors 23-55 by pushing the button on the back panel, but it can't be opened back up without going to the other side in the service area.

    Weird to see a 2500lb limit on this elevator that is for service purposes.. It moves quickly enough however, but you do not see many single door elevators in buildings more than 20 floors.

    For a service elevator, I would expect like 3500-5000 pound capacity. But I do have to say 2500 pounds really isn’t much for a service elevator
