I go through all of the new miniatures reveals for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar and the new edition of the game. The Skaventide launch box is coming soon and it is absolutely packed with miniatures for the Stormcast Eternals and the Skaven. Rat Ogres actually got an update in the Island of Blood Box. They never got released individually. I personally like those even more than the new one.

Those were nice but yeah, unfortunately vanished into the ether - I really like these though. The Island Of Blood ones would be nice to see if you could scoop up to compare scale-wise I reckon.

That's great to hear - beyond the first set, I didn't go in for any of the big new boxes but THIS one has won me over. Especially with the new miniature designs and the way they have described the rules so far.

Those skaven are wonderful, managed to update them whilst keeping a lot of the character. They still look sinister as heck.
Big starter box, gonna be pricey. If it comes in at £160, that would be a lot better than I thought looking at the contents though. Thought it would be closer to £200. I like the two books rather than the all in one that Leviathan came with too

Yeah the Skaven are looking very nice - I thought I'd drop them for just Stormcast but I feel like painting them now. And yes, the book split alongside the card packs is a great idea for gaming.

Within minutes of the reveal, someone was on a local Facebook trading group looking for someone to take the Sigmarine models from the starter when it releases. And I don't blame them.
I've also heard the range of models will pair nicely with the ones that came in Island of Blood (if anyone's still got that).

Yeah the Skaven look superb for The Old World, Mordheim etc - I can see them selling like hot cakes

@@BecauseOfDragons the two-piece Clanrats is genius, too. If only they could have done that with Firstborn Marines. So many pieces. So, so many.

I got the Island of Blood box. Haven’t touched it yet. But I was wondering if it really pairs well with the new box. That is a total of 80 clan rats. I read that Skaven can have quite a lot of miniatures, but it sounds like too much. However it is truly is a Skaven tide, but it also sounds like torture to paint.

@@severintw you might struggle to fit it all into a single army (and some of those weapon teams might be gone in AoS4) but it will at least give you options plenty of options.

@@AndrewMcColl I do think the rat ogres in Island of Blood look better than the new ones. But it seems the clan rats show their age quite clearly next to the new counter parts. Wonder how the old warlock engineer and warlord look next to the new ones. And if there will be a big height difference in general.

not bothered by AoS, but love my skaven and been revisiting them for the Old World. There are a couple things in that set that "cant be used" in the Old World, but im pretty sure i saw in a FB group somewhere that someone was going to make an unofficial document covering all the stuff from the old army book that the legends pdf left out. Cant wait to get my hands on that Chieftain on the giant rat, and the warlock engineer is lovely too!
