    Here in UK we have little window of growing. We have a lot of rains in the past months. Most of the gardener who have no greenhouse is still starting. Lol

    Hi Jerra. First time here and I love your garden. The garden pests in my area, zone 8, are a lot this year. I use insecticidal soap and it helps. Growing up in Jamaica Roselle is called Sorrel and we love those cherries too. Happy Gardening. 😊

    I have 2 Barbedos trees, they were on pots, and about 2 years ago, I decided to plant them on the ground. They are beautiful, but they are not giving me any fruit. I have seen flowers, but no fruit. Do you have any suggestions for me?

    What do you recommend for white flies? I have so many in my pepper plant. They just don’t go away. I’ve tried everything 😢

    Hi there Jerra! I’m up here in the Florida panhandle and I’m cursed with these blasted root knot nematodes 😣. I’ve tried everything (mustard cover crops and French marigolds tilled under) besides solarizing with clear plastic like you mentioned. Do you have any videos about this?

    • @Anne--Marie
      @Anne--Marie หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are some plants that are less resistant to root knot nematodes. My master gardener friend also says that they don't like a lot of organic matter.
      I use a bulk compost mix and garden in containers to keep them from spreading.

    I could never get florida Everglades tomatoes seeds to grow, any tricks or tip to grow in Central California?

    • @JerrasGarden
      @JerrasGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm working on an Everglades tomato growing guide so stay tuned for that. But they are notorious for being slow to germinate compared to regular tomatoes. So expect a couple weeks. To help speed it up, use heat mats.

    Hi Jerra!! Love your videos 😍 Can I sow pumpkin seeds now? I see your pumpkin plant is big but I’m not sure if I can start from seeds now..? I was growing a pumpkin patch 2 months ago and the June rains destroyed it all!! I’m very cautious on starting it again now in the middle of summer…what are your thoughts??

    • @JerrasGarden
      @JerrasGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      If your located in the Southern USA zones 8 and up, then yes go ahead and sow seeds for pumpkins. I'm about to sow another round of a bunch of pumpkins to transplant in September.

    I want to start planting directly in my soil. Zone 9b (palm bay, Fl).. garden beds are great, but id rather have crops than a lawn and i feel like it would save money without having to buy wood. What recommendations do you have for gardening right into florida soil?

    • @JerrasGarden
      @JerrasGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check out this video because I discuss the pros/cons of gardening directly in FL soil so you're prepared. It's definitely possible. I also discuss where/what materials I use. Wood chips were a game changer for me to the point where I pulled out the majority of my raised beds because the wood chips have decomposed down into rich soil. th-cam.com/video/KKo6aFCbHPE/w-d-xo.html

    Hi from Zone 7! I am going to transplant kajari melons into 5 gal grow bags. How many plants should I put in each bag? Thanks!

    • @JerrasGarden
      @JerrasGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kajari melons don't have very deep root systems so you can plant like 3 per 5 gallon bucket - just as long as they have something to grow up on vertically. Also, throw some organic granular fertilizer on then every now and then.

    Great video, very informative. Do you grow Roselle in ground or in a pot? I have mine in a pot and it t seems a little stunted. I has a flower but it has not opened yet. How long does it take the flower to open? Thanks

    • @valchris11
      @valchris11 ปีที่แล้ว

      They tend to flower when it starts getting cooler .

      I bought one from her website and it's doing amazing. I planted mine right into the ground. I'm zone 9b in Florida.

    • @JerrasGarden
      @JerrasGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Roselle is day length sensitive so they really start blooming like crazy in fall as day light hours decrease. I prefer to grow them in the ground because if they get root bound, it will stunt plant growth. Or plant in a very large container. The bigger the plant, the more calyxes will be produced. Plants can get 6FT tall.
