Me and my father have been building one and it has cost a little over 3 grand, but my father can weld, machine, and build stock car frames so I'm not sure how much that would cost extra on top of the body and various parts lol. If you have the skills it is very cheap. Plus its frowned upon to buy stuff for a rat rod. If you have parts to trade and people to bargin with its not to expensive.

I would avoid getting into anything classic car related then, its a life time hobby and you will most likely sink every penny you get into these things. Also you don't buy a ratrod you make it.
