Update: Installed new ignition coil .....Chinese mfg - about $15 on Amazon - plug wire was a little short but made it fit. Saw (model 51) now starts/runs when hot. All in with new carb, air filter etc etc about $50. Thanks again for your video!
I have replaced everything from the cylinder head back on a 51 - except this module - hopefully to cure hot start/stall problems....ordered part today from Amazon - about $15. If this fix does not solve my saw's problem, it's history and buying a Stihl. Starts cold on 1st pull. Thanks for the video!
hothondansx could be the coil from what you describe. If this does not cure it I would point to either a bad crank seal or compression dropping below amountt needed to run when saw gets hot
Should have said did not replace cylinder, but everything else. Removed exhaust and could see no scoring on the piston. Did Carb, fuel line, fuel filter, spark plug, air filter and anything else made of plastic.
Hello I have a chainsaw homelite 340, its coil ignition burns, I have not found on the market a replacement for the same model, can I use another model of a other brand? thanks for your vide
@@deek3048 most probably shouldn't, I work on thousands of saws, trimmers, mowers etc.... a year for a living I'm more comfortable with my impacts than most, also since this vid was made I've upgraded to adjustable torque Milwaukee m12 I can't remember the last time I broke or stripped a screw with my impact

Was the cylinder you put on oem or aftermarket?

hothondansx these are also known to leak from the little impulse tube by the intake boot but if that was leaking you'd know it
Why did you not start it.?
What's the torque spec on that

@@Coakleyfixedit207 Great vid! good details! But I would never use power tool to tighten ANY screw on a chainsaw.
