I’ve been watching your tribute videos. Excellent and much needed. What a sad time. Geordie was a unique master. Glad I got to see them. Love like blood was one of my favorites for sure. That whole album rules….and outside the gate…much love man!! He will live on forever in our hearts.
Hey Jon - thank you for the kind words. Playing guitar is my way of coping with most things. Their will never be another Geordie. To hear him live was pure magic. X
Ah cheers Rick! It’s shared stages with underground heroes and pop stars alike. And it was strummed by Geords, so there’s mojo galore. Bit heavy on the shoulder though hehe. Appreciate you listening. X
Thank you so much - this was my main guitar for many years. Geordie also gave it a strum once! I retired it briefly due to shoulder problems, but time to get some 12 gauge strings on it again! X
R.I.P Geordie Walker! Great Tone and Sound would love to know how you get the sound so close to Geordies how you have everything set up there? Brilliant!!!
Thank you Robert, it starts with playing the parts by learning only from Geordie's hands (not chord charts of others etc.) He's a very understated player who makes it look so easy but he's shifting a lot of minute notes around within chords. Then a snarling yet bright P-90 is essential. I use a Strymon Brig with stereo repeats and some specific delay times, which I can morph with an expression pedal. This was recorded on the Marshall setting of a Strymon Iridium modeller, but I can get close with a big proper rig as well, which is the real bees knees. It's all about getting the echoes and pitch modulation in the ball park and of course, doing as best you can interpreting his mighty progressions. Geordie Forever. X
Gutted mate. Gutted. KJ, Derby Ajanta, 1980. My life was never the same thereafter. A legend lost but but his ferocious beauty will forever remain in our hearts.
These are stock EGC P90s - they are crystal clear and burly sounding at the same time. It's literally impossible to lose chord nuance even when saturated with gain.
Amazing. I’m 47. I was a huge fan of industrial/goth/alternative music of the eighties and nineties. Oddly enough, I only became a fan of KJ in the last five years. I just sort of overlooked that band. I honestly don’t know why. I know I bought pandemonium in the nineties but just didn’t like it. Now that I’ve gone through their entire career multiple times in the short time I re-discovered them, it’s still my least favorite🤷🏼♂️, though still loved. But anyway. Rip Geordie
@@Idolhands7007 - I remember when Pandemonium dropped as well and at the time I wasn’t aware of just how legendary and influential they were. Seeing them live absolutely sealed the deal for me though. Certainly one of the most powerful bands ever and Geordies sound love was like gods dragons breathing fire on you. Here’s an interesting story on the album in question. www.loudersound.com/features/killing-joke-inside-the-great-pyramid-at-giza
It isn’t me, the photo is by Mont Sherar and was included in “Twilight of the Mortals” the definitive Killing Joke photo art book. I was a contributor inn the written elements. It was an amazing project. X

🔥tribute. Thank you, F.F. Just learned the news today. Rest in peace, Geordie.
44 years of brilliance. Thank you for listening and for the kind words.
If anyone should play a tribute, it’s definitely you. Well done and thank you 🙏
Thank you Paul - I never set out to be in any sort of tribute, however, Geordie chords demand to be strummed by my hands, especially now. X
Excellent
Thank you - Geordie forever. X
RIP The Mighty Geordie Walker - greatest guitarist of all time🎸
For sure - those that claim anyone else as the GOAT haven't been bathed in the fire from heaven.
Wow! Cool guitar!! Keep the covers coming my friend!! 🎸

I’m with you matey - one of a kind. His riffs are burned into our psyche. X
The atmospheres changed, out on the town , music for pleasure?
Hello, are these P90 pickups or EGC single coils ?
Thank you
These are stock EGC P90s - they are crystal clear and burly sounding at the same time. It's literally impossible to lose chord nuance even when saturated with gain.
@@FletcherFathoms hello, i had them a long time ago and from what i remember they had the size of a P90 but had rod magnets.
Nice Sound. What Amp are u using ?
🙏 This one was done with a Strymon Iridium pedal amp and a Brig delay.
