I just picked up a 1989 kx80 big wheel off a family member with a newly rebuilt topend and crank, fmf fatty pipe and silencer for $200! :) BRAAAAAAAAAAAP!
brings back memories man. My first bike was a KDX with the dual shocks. SUCH a solid bike. Then my cousin bought a beater CR80 with like zero compression, we had to push that thing everywhere. Then finally he got a good KX80, thing ripped. I went for an RM80. These things rip.
Got an 87kdx 200 which i truly love and will never sell... Got a 97kx80 for 300$ recently.. I switchback and forth.. They're awesome trail bikes... Just gotta ride em harder... Drz is pooch and too slow for me.. 80's are most impressive for their size.. However kdx200 are legendary.. Any chance getting one.. Take it.. God be with you.peace

80s 85s are ok for a kid around 100lb or less but if you're close to 200 you need something bigger.

Makes me miss my KX80. All I ever did was trail ride it…not the best use but still really fun!
