Everyone commenting here is much more versed in the map/scale/geometric world than I! I just really love the show & have been a watcher from the very very beginning. I said all that to say that when the Knights Templar theory was presented, I had my doubts. There’s been a few theories put forth & some have been really far fetched. It seems to me that OI (the Swamp/Money Pit area at least) was an old semi-dry dock for repairing ships, perhaps Military ships, and the so-called Money Pit could have been an elaborate system for controlling the water depth in the swamp/dry dock area (along with the tides of course). This would also explain why a ship is located in the swamp, if there is one. I think anyone wanting to destroy a ship to hide evidence would simply sail it offshore and burn it.
i agree it was used as a siphon would explain the ten foot increments in the money pit.like a graduated cylinder to contol thy water level in the swamp
I believe they are double XX ... because of the thickness of the necks and the tails on the other side of the crack. EVERYTHING is NOT Masonic .... even though they would like everyone to think that they hold the keys to the locks.... They are not involved in this. It was originally Knights Templar. And their "treasure" was removed long ago .... In my opinion. Beside that, a bag seal is just like any other trash on the island .... just trash.

Beware of the difference of a medieval French Pie, and our present day foot, or 12 inches. As for lines and vectors related to Nolan’s Cross, correlations do not define cause and effect. 5:25 Unless it's an old type of french dialect i've never heard , Cruciaire isn't a french word for ''to dig'' , Creuser means ''to dig'' and Cruciaire is the cross on wich you would crucify a christian. We say Crucifix now but the language has changed many many times since then. And by all means i makes more sense that a seal on the beach speaks of crucifying since they often did that on the beaches / exterrior surroundings of city compounds
When did they start using the 12 inch foot and inches to measure things? As far as I can tell, not until the mid 1900's..? . Could that be correct..? Doesn't seem very long..
That is an excellent question and one that crossed my mind yesterday. The question lies with who is "they". The French didn't start using 304.8 mm until 1668. The English on the other hand may have been using it as early as 1305 under Edward the first. But these are decrees and when they actually started using this standard is unknown. In the case of hiding a treasure which is not connected to commerce, discretion would be up to the designer. The International foot 304.8mm wasn't established until 1959. But here is the catch with the mystery of Oak Island. We have a encrypted distance of 1347ft that when converted to modern units (1443ft) matches the distance of Nolans cross from the end stone to the head stone x 2, which happens to be where the North Anchor should be according to the same document. This leads me to the premise of the pre 1668 unit of measure. For reference en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Units_of_measurement_in_France_before_the_French_Revolution en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foot_(unit)
That's been my question for quite awhile, maybe paces not feet. I think they should get Fred Nolans survey maps out. Whatever happened to big flat rock with writings on it from Season 1/2? Pat
Has anyone even considered that things wash-up on beaches during storms. They never mention that. As they would say "is it possible that it is storm debris?"
and how far would lead travel in water .... not very far ... short of a tsunami pushing stuff across the island lead will not travel far since it weighs about the same as gold per pound ... so a lead seal found on a beach came from a place pretty close to where it was found ..

My guess as hull tech sailor and construction surveyor, it was used as a baseline to set waterline ballast, and centerline of workpoints. This would be easy to complete and necessary for proper hull repair, and construction. In this time period of ship building you could reference home ports of ship yards; most likely to all have thier own individualized control networks and points. This area was a shipyard to repair damaged vessels.
On an Island next to a mainland with better access, and resources. with no actual records of this from any source other than your opinion. what damaged Ships , whos' damaged Ships . ?

Excellent. The problem is the depth. They are underestimating the Templar/Mason abilities. And the manpower they had available. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the directions use the words, “burrow” and then 522 “shaft”? If I was a Templar, those words have different meanings. “Burrow” is what a rabbit does. All dirt work. A “Shaft” is cut from rock. All of your numbers, and Zena/Erin’s numbers are right. If you reply, I’ll tell you where. And how hard it’s going to be to get to 522’ shaft that goes to the 1065’ corridor that reaches the Holy of Holy chamber. Have a great day!
This is the possible interpretation: Stop don't dig. Dig at forty feet at a forty-five degree angle. The shaft has five hundred and twenty two feet between you between the correidor has one thousand sixty five feet reached the room. You dig 40ft then 522ft (45 degrees between N and W at 40 ft) then reach a shaft (already dug) and possibly go down deeper and then down a corridor 1065 ft to the vault. Im pretty sure the origin point is the Oak Entrance.
@@DOTtoDOT Hi! The entrance IS the oak entrance. Dig to 40’, then “burrow” at 45 degrees. It means dig at 45 degrees down, as well as by compass. It doesn’t give a measurement for the dirt section, because it’s dirt. (It’s 230’) This is why it starts 40’ down. The bedrock is at 200’. A 230’ burrowed tunnel gets us to the bedrock. From there, a 522’ “shaft” through the bedrock takes us to EXACTLY your, and Zena’s diagram for the 1065’ “corridor”. I think it’s obvious that to get across the swamp, the corridor would have to be through the bedrock, below the swamp. Remember, the Templars left with more than 10 ships that were never seen in any port again. Up to 400 men can fit on those ships. Less if loaded with supplies like oxen, or treasure. That’s a serious workforce when you include slaves. Our bedrock is gypsum and limestone. Categorized as soft rock by our current geology standards. I don’t think the Templars would have blinked. I am being conservative with my excavation numbers, but 20,000 cubes would be in the neighborhood for closing off the north end and filling the swamp.
The cross you’ve traced is a 4, not a cross. Also, it’s not a Greek letter Gamma. This is how the letter ‘S’ was depicted in those days. Nice video though. Keep it up!
@@tonyshaw7420 That's true. But when they would have made the master stamp, they likely would have carved as much as they could as a single unit. Easier that way. Plus it's a little...decorative? And if you look you see that the left side of the X's are thicker than the right. That's a lettering style. If they're tools, it looks more like two squares over each other as opposed to a square & compass.
My idea.. they sunk a big dia pipe down over the hole right? If not do so, Weld a top on that bad boy, Build a compressor that has enough discharge pressure and a flow rate that it can force the water out. Bob's your auntie. Think sat diver but on land.
One perspective never considered in the show or in any analyses I've seen; if it was the Templars, then given the facts that they were most likely in possession of the holiest of Christian relics, e.g. the holy grail, the Ark of the Covenant, etc., AND they were devout and hard core Christians AND both the Pope and the King were out to obliterate them, perhaps these treasures they dutifully hid were not meant to be recoverable by men. Also given that the island is festooned with religious markings and signs, especially Nolan's Cross, it wouldn't be too big a leap to consider that the treasure should only be considered retrievable by God. Rescued from the heathens and impenetrably preserved. Intact and secured for the second coming. Just a tangential idea.
Christian Relics are not this treasure, The King Of France and the Pope used that information to turn the People against the Templar. What they did have was a large stash of wealth, which was hidden in several places , I can say that all the very powerful men of Nova Scotia are Freemasons, including Bishops , My GGG grand father Bishop Hibbert Binny and his Father inlaw Supreme court justice Bower Bliss , and all the family are high order Freemasons who also have connections to Oak Island and the MikMaq who my GG Grand mother is . In fact many of the wifes of the Freemasons have Native Wifes . The same Natives who have connections to the Templar's .... Ive followed the oak island story since the 1970s because my Family has a connection to it. BTW My MikMaq gg GM was sent to Australia and was taken care of via the Masons until she past .
IMO, there is nothing there. Far too many people fail to understand what it would have taken to do whatever theory they like. Look at the effort undertaken with MODERN equipment and they can't get deep enough for long enough to find anything. Using nothing but shovels and picks, the only tools available during the historical time most speculate about, they would have nearly no chance of digging to 50 feet. Yes, they could have added more workers but there is no food on that island for an army of workers. Factor the infrastructure required to support "an army of workers" and you get a near zero chance that they dug to 100 or so feet to deposit anything.
Hmmm, I don't know how long a Jewish foot would compare to a modern foot. If Noland's cross is a layout of the temple, I would think they would use the same dimensional units of the original temple. Scaling issues between the modern bible and the Noah arc theme park? Egypt used the cubit, I don't know if they had a thing called the foot distance. I wonder if 2 cubits would equal an Egyptian pace? Roman's paced everything out then converted to a stadia? foot? Pacing is the oldest method of map making I know about. Even today, surveyors, military and woodsman learn to pace properly to get a repeatable known distance for navigating. Pacing can be surprisingly accurate. Just some thoughts.
As far as the Alter location and Solomon's temple, I just saw a similarity in the basic layout. In no way was I asserting a direct correlation to any kind of scale and or measurement.
@@DOTtoDOT Hmmm, I guess I made the connection, knowing templars had a deep connection to the temple. It seemed reasonable to me there might be a correlation to the real temple dimensions. An old French foot is very close. I was wondering out loud if a Jewish foot would be closer or even the same as the foot french foot. I didn't mean to put words in your mouth. Apologies.
@@petercamusojr1545 No worries Peter. The Jewish unit of measure would be the cubit which is about 18" depending on the authority who debates such matters. However the basic layout is similar to Nolans Cross

What I don’t understand is, why would they bury a treasure that they probably couldn’t dig back up themselves without running into their own booby traps they set? maybe they buried some thing they didn’t want anybody to actually get to?!?!

1600s is getting to be very significant time period. Plays very well into Francis Rochefoucald. I don't really expect anything. And my ideas I allow to change as the information leads. One thing that is perhaps very telling with regards to Robert Onston Stephenson, if he is the famous journalist, the La Formule document becomes highly credible and by association the rest of Zena Halperns documents. The official public announcement of decoding these cipher symbols wasn't until 1949. Robert DOnston died in 1916 and La Formule wasn't discovered till 2011. So how did Robert DOnston know this information and how was he able to decipher it. That's the big question. And I go on the premise its not a hoax.
See the thing is that this is masonic in nature, the bad part about them finding this is that the seal has been taken off. What this means is that who ever found the treasure took the seal off to see what was inside which they wouldn't have done when hiding it so most likely they are digging around for nothing. I'm saying that the treasure has already been discovered or moved and is not there.

I think the symbol at the bottom of the seal is xx,possibly roman numerals for 20. I've found quite a few metal detecting in the UK.
wanna bet the lead is from the same mine in France, as the cross was ?

@@tonirobinson6284 Yes I do
I think it's a strong bet it is
I think you're right, it is common in France to use that style of square and compasses.
After thought: The symbol at the bottom of the lead seal could be two XX and not a Masonic compass and square. For the record.
I first saw it as two X’s but then when you mentioned the Masonic compass square it was clear to see also.
Beside that, a bag seal is just like any other trash on the island .... just trash.

And by all means i makes more sense that a seal on the beach speaks of crucifying since they often did that on the beaches / exterrior surroundings of city compounds

Welcome and thanks for watching
were the "Nolan's Cross" stones set before or after the swamp was created?
Or is it a cubit measurement?
That's been my question for quite awhile, maybe paces not feet. I think they should get Fred Nolans survey maps out. Whatever happened to big flat rock with writings on it from Season 1/2? Pat
What happens to bugs if they enter the holy of holys?
The square and Compass is in that yes but there are three X's also in that seal

(It’s 230’)
This is why it starts 40’ down.
I found one that is almost identical and is the East India Company...
What is contained in the SWAMP???
How about they do the lead isotopes just like they did with the tough waters cross that Gary found no know exactly where to lead came from

That's true. But when they would have made the master stamp, they likely would have carved as much as they could as a single unit. Easier that way. Plus it's a little...decorative? Enjoy the show but if they ever found something major you would see it on the news months before it would air on the show.
But we won't know for sure until we get it dug up! Keep Dig'in!!!
@@LaurelHill2024 Tru dat!
I didn't mean to put words in your mouth. Apologies.
@@petercamusojr1545 No worries Peter. The Jewish unit of measure would be the cubit which is about 18" depending on the authority who debates such matters. However the basic layout is similar to Nolans Cross
