I watched starship troopers yesterday, so now I'm thinking about the theoretical range from ideal to worst first contact scenarios. This is almost certainly one of if not the best scenarios i've encountered. The worst would prbably be something like the bugs from starship troopers, the borg or xenomorphs. What I think is especially interesting though are the opportunities in the middle of that range. Your "roadkill" or your "brute force" (some of my favorite audiobooks). Regardless of the friendliness or hostility of the alien species I think It'd be interesting to witness the transformation of culture and technology following it. The implications of a worldwide Meiji restoration honestly fascinate me just as much, if not more than the already deeply explored ideas of a toe to toe conflict. This seems especially interesting in the realm of video games. It would be an interesting middle ground between the planetary management of something like civilization of victoria and the galactic management of stellaris. I'm a big resouce management kinda guy, so this interests me. I may yet make a similar game. Hard to say. Aaaaaanyways I love the cuddles from big fluffy catboy dad. That's the most important thing I had to say honestly. :3
