@@bill.godwin-austen Oh really?! I haven't seen a closeup of Kirstie recently enough to realize she'd taken out the eyebrow rings! And yes, babies tend to like to grab those kinds of things, don't they?
EDIT: Apparently I just haven't paid attention to the eyebrow rings, as I can now see that they've apparently been gone for quite a while. My bad!

Kirstie changes her hair a lot, so that's something you're going to have to keep in mind. Anytime you see a female in Pentatonix, it's always her. She usually tends to go between black and blonde, but she wears wigs, of all different colors, a lot while on tour too. She and Mitch are the chameleons of the group. They both have changed their looks so many times over the years.

I really believe that Pentatonix has a way to "speak/sing" directly with/to our soul. I think that's why so many people do have emotionnal reaction to them and/or have goosebumps, no matter what song they do. We litterally resonate with them.🙂

There goes Kirstie again, changing up her look and confusing matters. LOL! Still only one change in the band (Avi leaving and Matt joining). This song is so moving. They always sell the emotions in their songs, but this one, close up on their faces, was really impactful. I absolutely agree. Pentatonix always makes meticulous choices and are so smart about it. Great reaction as always!

I do so love when you react to Pentatonix! The way you feel the music is inspiring and I love learning from you. A gentle correction: There has been only one change in the line-up, when bass Avi Kaplan went solo in 2017. Matt Sallee joined soon after, and that’s him in this video. Otherwise, it’s always Kirstie and it’s always Mitch. They can be chameleons in a hair and make-up kind of way, but it’s always them. Have you watched Recording Evergreen yet? It’s a mini-doc about making a recent Christmas album and I bet you would find it interesting. As always, thanks for continuing with PTX. Peace …

This one is tough for me. This was the cover I was listening to on repeat while I sat at my computer in October of 2020, deciding how to end my life. I had hurt for too long. Everything I ever had, everything I ever loved was gone. 25 years of marriage gone. Children gone. Parents gone. Left alone, my entire world shattered. I couldn't do it any more. And that line "the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had." And suddenly it clicked. That was the answer. No more pain. No more darkness. No more sorrow. And that was SUCH a comforting thought. Thankfully, Pentatonix dropped Be My Eyes. To this day I don't know how I found it. I wasn't subscribed. It should not have been recommended to me. But for some reason I will never know it was. I saw it. And since I had already decided, what did it matter if I watched this one last song by them. So I watched it. And somehow. Some way. It touched me. So I watched it again. And then again. And for the first time in longer than I could remember, I believed not only could I BE loved. But that I WAS loved. It was a hard road back. There were a lot of times I didn't think I could make it back. Didn't know if I wanted to make it back. But day by day, song by song, PTX brought me back from that edge. I am am forever grateful to them for being who they are, and doing what they do. Now I try my best to help others when I can. That's why I share my story. Who knows, maybe one day I can be the lifeline for someone else, the way Pentatonix was for me.

PTX has a way of giving you chills just with their voices but one of their other great talents is their (timely) song selection.
Background: they released this during Covid right when schools were closed and kids had to figure out how to do “school at home”.
“Went to school and I was very nervous…
    …Look right through me…”
That’s what was on my mind when I first heard this. Talk about adding to the impact!

A couple things you need to understand about PTX is at some point in every song you will get HIT by a wall of sound from them and at that point usually you get hit by strong emotions also. Also they are EXCELENT at evoking lots of emotions because they not only sing the words but they believe in them and act on them. PTX has a formula to their songs that take you on a roller coaster ride. They build you a little , then drop you, then build you up a bit more, then drop you, build you up again, and build you up so high you can't breath......., and DROP you down to Earth and leave you panting for MORE. Then they smooth things out and finally leave you drained and spent. They are MASTERS at this technique and it is what sets them apart from other bands or groups. I must tell you about another a cappella group that is EPIC, Home Free is the name of the group. They do a lot of country songs but they have also done s few other genres. You MUST check them out. LIsten to ANYTHING you can find, because it's ALL good. My fave's " Land of the Free" , "Ring of Fire", "May Day" "End of the Road" "Sea Shanty".. I could literally go on for hours.

This was one of the perfect songs they put out in the dumpster fire Covid year of 2020. They probably filmed and recorded all this separately since there were no vaccines yet.
The other perfect song that year was Thank You from their Christmas album from that year.
Scott, Mitch and Kirstie were all in musical theater as kids and teenagers. They were also in an episode of Bones, playing music performers. They are used to acting so their videos can really pack a punch when they want them too.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Daniel Carter! You're right, 2020 was a challenging year, but it's incredible how artists like Scott, Mitch, and Kirstie from Pentatonix managed to create such perfect songs despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic. The dedication and creativity that went into producing their music remotely is truly impressive. It's also fascinating to know about their background in musical theater and their involvement in other projects like the TV show Bones. Their experience in acting certainly adds depth and impact to their music videos. Thank you for highlighting these aspects and appreciating their talents!
