Great tutorial; love all your videos on all things Scamp. Just a note... please be sure you can see all your fingers above board when cutting so as to save those precious digits 🙂
Just Excellent, Mz D!! You have already helped from your How To video on lubing the bearings for 5,000 miles and now you’ve empowered me to build my own shelves. Really, Thank you so much🤗🦋 Wanda
I love watching your videos. I have a 2021 Scamp and love it! Your idea for shelves is brilliant. Great job. You do a nice job filming. Please keep posting your ideas for improving the Scamp. I would also like to see some of your camping trips. Thanks.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement! I'll keep em coming. I have been meaning to make a video while I'm out camping as well, but I get so busy enjoying myself that I have a hard time picking up a camera. I'll force myself to soon enough. Stay tuned.
Hello 👋 haha. I bet your Portland is much more chill than mine. Good luck on the Scamp hunt. I hope you find your perfect one and that the shelves go in easy for ya. Thank you for your generous support Jane. It really means a lot to me.
Nice job! I plan to do something similar to my 13' also, however, I think for the uprights instead of plywood I will use pegboard. With the pegboard, I'll be able to adjust the shelves whenever I want quite easily. Haven't actually done it yet, but it's on my to-do list. Too many other priorities right now. Happy scamping. Love your videos by the way.
That is SUCH a good idea! I am also thinking about putting a little lip on each shelf with trim to keep stuff more contained. Lots of opportunities for adaptations for sure.
Great job tackling this project. I saw some folks who made shelves added a removable tension bar so the contents would not bang against the door during travel. But this is something that would help my”pantry” in my Scamp stay more organized. Thanks for the great video.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting. I am a big fan of tension rods but I think I'm going to add a 2 in lip on each shelf and line them all with grippy rubber shelf liner. amzn.to/3Vsbr6O
Haha nope! Pulled this one right out of my brain 🧠 Planning on taking the Scamp out on some new adventures real soon. Great to catch you in the comments section again 🤗
Great instructional video on how to make shelves for the Scamp cabinets! Those will really increase your storage capacity and organization (getting away from a pile of stuff in the cabinet!) We had a Casita and used a similar strategy of no holes drilled in the fiberglass to create closet shelving. Again, you did a great job filming and explaining this project - I bet a LOT of folks will do this!
Thanks so much! I couldn't take the pile anymore. It was making our trips way more stressful. These shelves have already made such a big improvement in our ease of finding what we need. I truly hope it does help others find solutions for their organizational woes. Thanks for your kind comment and encouragement!
Glad you found this video helpful. If you mean the actual shelves themselves, they are supported on all 4 corners. The shelf supports or "side walls" each have a block of 2x4 attached at the front and back. If you look closely you'll see that they create support for both ends of the shelves by supporting all 4 corners.
If you find that the shelf supports pop off on a rough road, you may consider redoing them with pieces of wood that allow you to glue along the grain. That should be stronger than glueing to the end of the grain. Or use some epoxy and it won’t matter 🙂
QUESTION: Excellent video! I have a Casita and need to do what you have done. What size of plywood did you use - 1/4in, 3/8in, 1/2in…? Again, enjoyed everything about your video. 😊
Hey thanks! I really appreciate the kind words. I used 3/8 in thinking I'd want to maximize the space side to side. But after some use I feel like 1/2 in would be a better choice for just the horizontal shelf pieces. The extra rigidity would be nice. I am also thinking about adding a little lip to each shelf to keep stuff from banging against the cabinet doors. Hope that helps!
I had to jump in here and comment before I finish the video because my safety brain was so relieved to see you not using the gloves with the circular saw. I know you’re WELL aware of safety but it’s an easy/common mistake to use gloves with any spinning tool and (obviously) a very costly mistake to risk 😬
Yeah thanks for pointing that out! I hope no one is coming to my channel for power tool safety lessons cuz I am no expert. Gloves are just for preventing splinters and definitely not for use with things that spin. Yikes.
Great tutorial; love all your videos on all things Scamp.
Just a note... please be sure you can see all your fingers above board when cutting so as to save those precious digits 🙂
Thanks so much for this helpful safety tip! I still have a lot to learn about power tools so I really appreciate the respectful and helpful pointer.
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing your wisdom and experience!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate the time you took to leave positive feedback ☺️
Good job. Clamps are your friend in carpentry.
Yes they are! Thanks for the encouragement 😊

Aww thank you so much for letting me know Wanda! It makes me really glad that these videos are helping people. I will do my best to keep them coming.
That makes a huge difference in your storage. Looks great!
Thanks Dave ☺️ it's a game changer for sure. I can't wait to go camping and take em out for a spin!
Great idea! Thank you! I need this in my little motorhome
You are so very welcome 🤗

Great little camper
Thank you. We are really enjoying it.
You did a great job!
TY so much 🙂
Great job Girl!
Thank you 😁
Awesome job, love your videos. When I finally find our Scamp, I will try this. Hello from the other Portland. 🙂

No Home Depot book needed. Great job. Hopefully you take this trailer to some great locations in the future. Can’t wait!

NICE JOB!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great idea!
Thanks!
Good for you! I've been using power tools since I was a teen so I think I can do this. 😁 Thanks for another great video.
You got this 💪 Thanks for your encouragement and for taking the time to comment 😊 Let me know how yours goes. I'm here if you have any questions.
Great job
Thanks!
Nice job
Thanks!
Very clever! Good job.
Thanks Amy. I really appreciate all your supportive comments 💖
Awesome!
TY 😊 they came out better than I had expected!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting 😁
Thanks, just what I needed. I'm wondering if there needs to be support for the plywood at the front and back, though?

It's my first time seeing you from oh shoot some scamp site.
Well welcome! I hope you enjoy the community here.

Really great tips! Thank you for those. So far everything is holding up well. But if that changes I will try your suggestions. Thanks so much 😁
