I look forward to exploring the railway next month. Your videos have been invaluable. 🙏🙏
Excellent! Best of luck in your exploration. Let me know how it went when you get back. Thanks for watching, and your comment.
Thank you for your effort in making this fascinating video --- very excited to see what the remaining of the line looks like nowadays beyond Sai Yok Noi Waterfall.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Hope you can explore parts of the railway. Also, have a look at the other videos on this channel to find out how to explore other sections of the railway between Kanchanaburi and Three Pagodas pass.
Thank you for doing this. This feels fulfilling in a way but also sad that it's just a history now.
Hi Jack, thanks. Yes, it will be sad if this railway is lost and forgotten. That's why I made these videos - to try and get more people to go and explore it.
brilliant video. I have a place up there. will explore these locations v shortly . thanks for sharing
Thanks for your kind words. Glad the video helped. Have a look at my other video “The Tonchan Bridges” which carries on for another couple of kilometers beyond where this one ends. A very interesting section of the railway.
i really hope youll be uploading more of thesse sometime soon>>
I will be doing more videos on other sections. But I need to go back to Thailand and do more GPS exploration and mapping. And the current travel situation makes that difficult. Thanks for your interest, and comment.
awesome content
Thanks for watching. More videos coming soon, on other sections of the railway.
Explore TBR awesome can’t wAit
การสำรวจที่มีรายละเอียดครบถ้วนและได้ความรู้เพิ่มขึ้นมากกว่าก่อน ขอให้ทำการสำรวจต่อไปจะติดตามชมตลอดครับ.
Thank you. Very detailed maps of the entire railway coming soon.
What happened to the railway tracks 🛤? As they are not there
In early 1946. British dismantle the railway near the border. Cut off the traffics.
Aftter Japanese POW repatriated to Japan. Railway no more using.
After Thai Gov bought the railway from British Gov. they want to operate the railway again.
In 1947 Thai Government survey railway and found there is not much profit from the railway north from Namtok.
Because the Maintenance cost is too high compare with profit.
So Thai Gov decided to abandon the whole railway operation and dismantling the railway from Nitea to Namtok.
Keep operation only Nongpladuk to Namtok
That's why now the railway is only can reach Namtok station.
@@thansawathsaranyathadawong7048 thankyou 🙂
Thanks for the info Alex.
May I know where is the old train display located?
Hello, and thanks for your comment. In the video description there is a list of GPS coordinates which will take you to the exact locations on Google maps. Click on "2) Cutting & Locomotive". Thanks for watching.
where can i get a copy of the map at the start of the video pls?
That map is not publicly available. It’s my own map which I made years ago to illustrate my videos. You can find much better maps with gps-scale precision in my new 8-part map series. You would probably find these maps to be more useful in finding the railway on today’s landscape.
@@exploretbr i own a house north of na kaan right next to the track. I was told the troops used to bathe in the lake at the bottom of the land we are on. Theres also a cave in the mountain right next to us which the japanese used for meetings and maybe storing ammo etc. Im heading up there after the rainy season finishes as i was told its a bit dangerous
Not familiar with the name Na Kaan. Where is?
@@exploretbr its 15km north east of kanchanaburi between wang lan and wang yen stations.
