The PIN diode is a simple technique of electronically modifying the functional properties of the antenna by the switching states of the diode.
The PIN diode conducts current in one direction only and therefore determines the ON and OFF states respectively. When the diode is forward biased (ON state) the equivalent circuit is a combination of parasitic inductance 𝐿 and a series resistance 𝑅
