Wonderful !! the priesthood ended at the cross when the lamb escaped and the veil was torn from top to bottom. There was no need for another sacrifice. It was done, FINISHED.... once and for all. Hallelujah!!!
Why do Torah observers obsess over what non Torah observers believe and do? They seem to (from my pov) feel a need to defend their faith because it’s very shaky and they know it. They also seem to be more concerned with being right than they are with knowing the truth.
I have been Torah observant for the last 6-7 years. I started reexamining my beliefs after moving to an area with a huge amount of Torah observant people in 2022. I started seeing bad fruit and noticed the new testament was rarely focused on in the general sense. I started studying heavily everything in the new testament. My husband and I have come to find that Torah observance is a false doctrine. Paul's epistles were very helpful as is what Jesus tells the rich man in Matthew 19 to attain eternal life. He gives a list of simple commands. The man says he kept all of those what more can he do? And Jesus, instead of saying to eat clean , or keep the Sabbath ect, he tells him if he wants to be perfect and have treasure in heaven then sell everything and give to the poor... This is not what Moses law teaches. Matthew 5 helped a lot too because Jesus quotes the commands in Moses law and then says something entirely different from them. Like what Deuteronomy 24 verse 1-2 says.
The true church is composed of all faithful believers, Jews and Gentiles, in Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior. Our salvation comes from our belief that Jesus, through His great love and His freely given sacrificial blood, saves us from all the wrongs we have done and will continually cleanse us from all our failures that will happen. Jesus, sitting at the right hand of God, and the Holy Spirit will constantly comfort us no matter what the circumstances are. By our faith we know all things are through Jesus.
All sin was dealt with at the cross. There is no more sacrifice for sin. It is only applied to the account of a believer. 2 Corinthians 5:19,21 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Thank you Rob. This presentation is the Gospel in a nutshell and very well articulated. The academics in scholarship all knew about the concept of 'already but not yet',but I'm not telling you something you don't already know. Thanks again!
Read Jeremiah 31. Some prerequisites missing for the new covenant to be in effect. Can't just pick and choose a verse here and there and build doctrine off of it. Isaiah 28 speaks on this but few can understand it. Verse 12 though it says refreshing yet we would not hear, Messiah came for the lost sheep of Israel to bring them back into covenant and by extension anyone else that hears the good news and wants to join the covenants. We obey the Torah and YAH is our God, if we don't He isn't and that's His words. Read Deuteronomy and when Moses speaks of latter times he speaks of today. The problem today is people rush to people for answers rather than see what TMH has said to us in scripture. YAH is infallible where as us men are not and we get stuff wrong all the time. How many people that read this don't agree with Deuteronomy 30? Clearly Moses says those who obey the Torah get regathered into the land yet most today think it was abolished 2k years ago. Who do we believe? I for one go with Moses, the prophets and the Messiah. All said obey the Father's commandments. It's even in Revelation again and that was post Paul so either people are misinterpreting scripture or Revelation was wrong. 12:17 14:12 22:14 , all the messages to the churches say repent too, same meaning from Genesis to Revelation.
Iv Just realised my Hebrew roots error, God used the apostolic fathers to and early church fathers to shock my system 😂 Robs videos are helpful now also

Isn't it amazing that some Jews(the fake ones?) say that if we worship Jesus then we're in idolatry, however they can worship a large stone structure instead of its builder.
Hello, I'm reading Exodus and a question arose. Hoping someone here can shed light. How were the Egyptians who joined themselves to Israel during the Exodus, divided into tribes?
How silly of them to try to make an argument for Jesus being a new priest or being part of a new priesthood, when he is called one "in the order of Melchizedek".
@@believer8091 yes I went back to relisten to his comments near the end of the video and your right. The whole thinking of Torah keepers is so convoluted I was expecting yet another heresy / novelty.
@@PavelMosko Their thinking seems straightforward. The High Priest atones in heaven now. Our sins will be taken away when we get incorruptible bodies at the second coming. If everything was done at the cross, what does the High Priest do now?
@@believer8091 hmmm are you Seventh Day Adventist? Very few people would claim their thinking is straight forward. Although I'm sure some Hebrew roots folks would.
@@PavelMosko I’m not SDA. Their thinking is the default. All they really say is “Keep commandments. Messiah is the Son. Repent and believe to be saved.” Things get convoluted when you have to rationalize why you don’t have to keep commandments and you have to explain the trinity. Then you have denominations and church membership contracts and start dividing over doctrine.
"the only place in the entire New Testament where we find the language of a “first” and “second” covenant, and an old and a new covenant." == Just the words “first” and “second” ---- there are many places where God compares the old and new covenant = 2 Corinthians 3, Romans 4, Romans 7, Luke 22, Galatians 3, Acts 13 and 15. So maybe NOT the "it’s the only place in the entire New Testament "
Hello Professor Solberg, Well, this time you really did it. So, you have the author of Hebrews 7 and 8 tossing out the Levitical priesthood, never to be needed again, to make way for the priesthood of Christ after the order of Melchizedek from Psalms 110:4. Then in chapter 8, the author of Hebrews tries to convince us we are now under a New Covenant, quoting Jeremiah 31 in support of that theory. But, what both of you are overlooking is that Jeremiah 33:14-18 utterly disagrees with your conclusion here about the Levitical priesthood. Jeremiah is not arguing for the New Covenant causing a total end of the Levitical priesthood back at the cross, but instead two chapters after speaking about the New Covenant, Jeremiah strongly makes the case for God retaining the salt covenant God makes with the Levitical priesthood, as does Ezekiel 44 in kind. So, when you are cherrypicking the prophecies of Jeremiah, you and the author of Hebrews happily run to Jeremiah 31 to push for a conclusion that openly attacks the position Jeremiah himself upholds two chapters later in Jeremiah 33:14-18 concerning God’s claiming there will be future Levitical priests and animal sacrifices. So, Jeremiah’s position is that the cross would not have perminantly done away with Levitical priests or animal sacrifices. And this further suggests that the author of Hebrews 7 and 8 did not properly understand what transpired back at the cross. But, instead is tempting you to go against conclusions God has already reached in Jeremiah 33:14-18. No wonder Christians are so incredibly confused about issues involving the New Covenant and the priesthoods of Torah. There didn’t need to be a change to the law, because God had no intention of changing his salt covenant with the Levites. Because, Christ was never trying to become a member of the Levitical priesthood which is obvious from Psalms 110:4, because he was already declared centuries in advance to be a priest forever after the Order of Melchizedek instead. And that Psalm never raised problems with the Law of Moses before. The whole point of preparing in advance for two different priesthoods in Torah is so that the law wouldn’t need to be changed. Neither of these priesthoods are infringing on the lawful status or rights of the other.
13:13 What does the High Priest do if everything was accomplished at the cross? People were able to pray before and after the cross. What is the difference between atonement and taking away sins?
Would Solberg be willing to have a third discussion with Sean Griffin? In your first discussion, you said you learn more by talking to people from different positions. I think you need to let Sean know you are talking with him to learn and not to win a debate.
Solberg thinks he's using Hebrew Roots believers as punching bags, but he's only swinging in the air. Understanding the components of ancient middle eastern covenant law will show his assumptions of the law are tragically wrong.
23:33 if Mr. Solberg is telling the truth then it’s not the covenant that was at fault but the people and this is why the Lord Jesus Christ fix the peoples heart and gave them the Holy Spirit
Solberg's closing statement is not accurate because temple service is not everything in the Torah of God. Torah also dictates the optimal lifestyle outside of the temple environment. Jesus confirms it in Matthew 4:4 and Luke 4:4.
Is the commandment that is set aside the one that says a priest must be of Levi? And not based necessarily on right behavior? Just lineage? The priesthood based on lineage is weak and sometimes worthless(when the priests are evil). But Jesus is over a priesthood that is perfect and perfectly carries out the instructions of his father!
24:1027:30 The counter claim is: we are in the new covenant when we have the glorified body that cannot sin. The old covenant is ready to vanish, but hasn’t vanished yet. Unbelievers will be judged by the law. Paul hasn’t attained perfection when he wrote Philippians 3: 12.
@@elliot7205 The Kingdom of Heaven is here on earth, and the Kingdom of God is where God dwells. Genesis 6:1-4, and Deuteronomy 32:8 is one of the main reasons Jesus spoke in parables. Deuteronomy 32:8 is mistranslated in most versions of the Bible, Sons of Israel???? Israel was not even created yet, it should say Sons of God, or Angels.
At 16:30, you mention that the author never mentioned the physical temple that currently existed, which is true if you only consider ch. 8. However 9:11 ends with "not of this building". As well, I'd say the "them" mentioned in 8:8, might be referring to the promises of the old covenant, since 8:6 mentions "better promises"; indicating that the former promises were... inferior, or...faulty

I don’t understand why the author of Hebrews has the right to change what Jeremiah wrote (Jer. 31.32). Imagine if the Book of Mormon quoted the gospel of John but changed the words of Jesus in order to explain the doctrine of a new and even better 3rd covenant. We would be appalled.
He’s quoting from the Septuagint version of Jeremiah. That’s why the wording is a little different. And since Hebrews is part of our Scriptures, what the author wrote is as much of the Word of God as the Hebrew version of Jeremiah. Blessings, Rob
@@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Many years ago when I was witnessing to my Mormon friends, I found out that Joseph Smith likely copied from the KJV bible into his Book of Mormon. When he did so, he copied some translation mistakes. To me, that was a huge red flag. I feel like the book of Hebrews has done something similar here, and possibly in other places (i.e. Heb 10:5). It significantly lowers my confidence in the book of Hebrews as inspired by God. I hope you can sympathize with me for thinking so. I have not been able to find a satisfying answer to this dilemma.
45:25 if we have been sanctified, then why do we go through sanctification or why are we being sanctified? Deeply thankful to your teachings. I have had a number of Jewish clients of various congregations. Now I am serving an observant Jew who has great passion for Judaism, but as I finally revealed I am Roman Catholic, declared to me the Holy Trinity is blasphemy, idolatry, and now I have knowledge and before God to learn the truth. We actually get along very well. But the other day, it was deeply disturbing of their understanding was that we are idolators, that St Peter was insane, that St Paul was epilectic and grandiose narcissist, that he was fake, that other religions all had images of a messiah being born of a virgin mother, that Christ never existed, that all the gospels were created a long time later, and the Catholic Church killed millions of Jews. I know of the deaths of Jews, 2000 in number, instigated by a Cistercian monk who was AWOL from his monastery, and an erratic bishop, Germany always a problem for the Church. There was the Crusades who also killed innocent Jews in Jerusalem. I also know the Elizabethan England created anti Catholic propaganda claiming the killing of millions that English speaking Protestants believe. And the Jews were deeply mistreated in Rome, even by popes. So I am trying to find more actual facts of the Church’s mistreatment of the Jewish people. Both the Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed at every liturgy and Pontius Pilate is the one who consented to the death of Christ. But listening to this presentation, I must admit the Catholic faith fulfills Judaism, what is presented here. Christ is the Cornerstone, the Church both physical of human beings, not church buildings. It is the Blood of Christ Who sustains the Church, not man.
I find eastern orthodox offered me clearer answers to many questions than growing up catholic. I ended up in Hebrew roots but realised my error after reading the earliest church fathers writings. I used to attack catholics but now I see they were more correct than my Hebrew roots beliefs, the thing that sways me to eastern orthodox is the filioque issue, and the simple clear answers orthodoxy offers, even the preists can marry and everything just seems even more ancient and in line with the apostolic fathers. But I have a new found respect for catholics despite agreeing more with eastern orthodoxy.

Remember, it’s not men who make covenants with God but the other way around. 2 Peter 2 makes a good argument about following false teachers/teachings that entice believers to fall astray using the proverb “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.” I think it’s best to seek the better covenant, humbly, then to strive the obsolete covenant in pride. We should remember that to the Pharisees, Jesus' Theology was a 'fringe theology' "When He said, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is BECOMING obsolete and growing old is ABOUT TO disappear." (Hebrews 8) It looks to me like this 'New Covenant' at the time of this writing hadn't quite come to pass. 'Becoming obsolete' and 'About to disappear' still put it as future. After the death and Resurrection of Christ sometime. Also This New Covenant hasn't happened for 'the House of Judah and 'The House of Israel' yet.
That promise in Jeremiah was to 'the house of Israel' and 'The House of Judah'. That is specific. Obviously, wanted us to take that literally. That is still future for Israel. We Christians are under a renewed covenant from Genesis (Gen. 15/Gal. 3:7-18) No, I'm not Sean.

When did God say " a new covenant"? Whenever God said that, the old covenant was obsolete. God said that in Jeremiah's time. So, from Jeremiah's time it was Obsolete and growing old, plenty of time to disappear when Christ came.
New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the questions below? Who is the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Who is the “son” that is the “heir” to the land in Matthew 21:37-43? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary? What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. God is not now a “racist”. He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son’s blood at Calvary. The Apostle Paul warned against using “genealogies” in our faith in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9. If the New Covenant is "everlasting" in Hebrews 13:20 and the Old Covenant is "obsolete" in Hebrews 8:13, why would any Christian believe God is going back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period? What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. Rob I'm afraid your perspective of "better" is that of mankind, but God wanted a faultless covenant, where sin was not ongoing. The new covenant forgives sins at baptism, sins committed before accepting Jesus as Lord, as there are no more sacrifices for future sins. Jesus reconciles believers into his ministry so that they as priests live by faith, not sin, as part of their profession or oath of faith in the new covenant contract. Those sanctified find the covenant "better" as promised they are perfected at judgement when they die, as those past sins are finally washed away. Those like Saul was a lost sheep, a hypocrite as he gave the law but lacked faith and due to sin did not keep it, this is all explained in my Ytube video series 'Myths in so-called Christianity'. The believing of Abraham required he be perfect, a two-way contract, as is the new covenant by the obedience of faith as laid out in Romans. Baptism is expressed in Romans 5-8 for those who truly are baptised with the Spirit.
the old and the new are both marriage covenants. the nature of God is revealed in the law given after the first marriage. Hos nature never changes. how he wants his bride to act will never change either. the new marriage covenant is built on a better promise, that promise is that the bride will have his law written upon their heart and mind. that points to our reborn bodies after resurrection.
@@kmountain5533 that sounds nice, even like it could be true. it is not though. if his laws were written on our hearts and minds then obedience would be like breathing. without thought, we would obey perfectly. the promise of the new covenant is that we will never sin again. that comes after the resurrection...

@@jeremiahchapman9288 yes I was turned from my wicked ways and that is what the gospel is about. Turning from our sins to Christ who now lives in us. Paul writes in Colossians 1:27 that the mystery of the gospel is: Christ in you. Paul again writes in Romans 8:9 that “If anyone does not have the Spirit of God, they do not belong to Christ.” So no, I don’t sin because Christ is in me and He doesn’t lead me to sin. Jesus, Himself tells us in John 8:34 that “whoever commits sin is the slave to sin.” And then in John 8:36 He claims He can set the sinner free. I believe Jesus and have been turned from my sins. Have I did something that offended Christ, probably because I have had the cleansing of the Holy Spirit come over me and through me but whatever it was it was unintentional and the Lord didn’t opt to set me down and work through it. Has the Lord worked through stuff on me? Yes , issues in my heart that blocked His goodness. So what are the sins that you are still doing? Do you want to keep them or give them up to the Lord? Truly, all you have to do is believe and God will do the rest.

We are still asking people do they know the LORD . Not all know the LORD as of yet . You are proof we are still teaching our neighbors . So the way these verses read . The New Covenant is with Israel and Judah. So if you say you are living under the New Covenant you must be an Israelite or of Judah. Which do you claim to be ?
Thank you, Rob. In Hebrews 8:10-12, the gracious provisions of the new covenant are detailed. It must not be ignored that in both the original passage from Jeremiah and here, it is clearly stated that the new covenant is to be made with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. Both verse 8 and verse 10 refer to a time when this occurs. Since the two divisions of the kingdom (Israel-Judah) are distinguished, this is clearly a literal promise. Such a time will indeed come when the ancient divisions will be forgotten and Israel shall be one nation living in the land promised them. Ezekiel confirms this in Ezekiel 37:15-23. At that time, he states, God promises to cleanse them, and “they will be my people, and I will be their God,” the very words used by Jeremiah as the main provision of the new covenant. This, too, is the substance of Isaiah’s awed prophecy: Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children. (Is 66:8) New Testament support for a time when Israel will be saved is found in Paul’s words, paraphrasing Isaiah 59:20-21: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins” (Rom 11:26-27). Though the writer of Hebrews undoubtedly applies this new covenant to the church, those commentators who deny its future application to the nation of Israel ignore great areas of Old and New Testament prophecy. The basis for applying this passage to the church, though it is not stated in Hebrews, is Paul’s declaration in Romans 15:4 that “everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” And again, “These things happened to them [Israel] as examples [Gk typikos, as ‘types’] and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come” (1 Cor 10:11). - Stedman, R. C. (1992). Hebrews (Heb 8:7-13). IVP Academic.
Yes, we are currently in the new covenant, and Israel, the only elect nation, will enter the new covenant when the Son of Man, the "Deliverer," returns in glory as King. Romans 11:25 "Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in." Romans 11:26 "And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, 'The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob;" Romans 11:27 “And this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” Romans 11:28 "As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. Jesus said swearing an oath is from the evil one ? Due 10:20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name. Jesus said swear no oaths so there is no covenant. To have a covenant you must have an oath ? Most Gentiles come to Jesus under the New Covenant WAY before digging into the Scriptures & understanding all the historical/cultural/spiritual why's & wheretofores.
New doesn't mean different. That which decayeth and waxeth old ready to vanish, he made new again. Refreshed, revived, made new as it had never been broken. When Jesus walked the Earth, what covenant were we subject to? Which covenant was broken, and required a blood penalty by one of the two parties involved? Which covenant did Jesus bleed and die to satisfy? If you answered the Old Covenant to all three questions, you get a star :) Ok one more, which covenant has a death penalty paid for in advance for ever? Yes, correct, very good!!! Making the old new again and so much better by paying the death penalty in advance for the offending party. The Covenant was made between two parties God and mankind. When mankind sinned at the golden calf, God was obligated to "kill them all" Moses talked him out of it, simultaneously talking God into dying on their behalf. God can't die. But if somehow he could become human flesh, he would be able to uphold the Covenant and establish it forever. Wow you guys are so smart, you all blurted out "JESUS" I'm so proud of you all. Gold stars for everyone! Now it makes perfect sense that the New Covenant is God writing his commandments on our heart, and we are subject to his whole law. Even all the ceremonial priestly stuff, since Jesus is our High Priest, and we are the Temple of God. Thank you for pointing this out and explaining it to us all. Now we can stop acting like pagans and start following Jesus (who is God) in truth and spirit! Peace
New absolutely means different, else God is an adulterer. ".. the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives? For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. So then, if she has ______ relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man. So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God." ~ Romans 7 : 1ff
@@kimartist To be clear, I'm speaking about "the Old Covenant" and "the New Covenant" the word "New" doesn't mean different. Basically The New Covenant is the Old covenant that has been made new again, and not a "novel" thing. Please explain (because I'm a little slow) how does that make God an adulterer? Thank you. Peace
2 Cor. 3 doesn’t say He writes the letter on our hearts or that that is how we serve Him as believers, in fact it says the opposite. 2 Corinthians 3:3,6-8 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. [6] Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. [7] But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: [8] How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? The comparison is the 10 commandments on tables of stone vs. The Holy Spirit within the hearts of believers. Romans 7:3-4,6-7 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. [4] Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. [6] But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. [7] What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. The new and old can’t be at the same time, otherwise it’s the equivalent to spiritual adultery. And from the context of v.7 -it’s again clearly the 10 commandments that v.4 says we are dead to. v.6 says we are to serve in the newness of Spirit, NOT in the oldness of the letter. More correlating passages that have the same contrast. Ex. 19,20, Deut. 4,5 /Heb. 12:18-29 Deut.5:22, Ex. 31:13-18 /2 Cor. 3 Gen. 21:9-13 Mt. Sinai/Hagar /Gal. 4:21-31 The NT teaches us to walk in the Spirit and we won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Love fulfills the law. Grace is our teacher now. All of these are a much higher standard. Not just outward religious ritualistic behaviour but a standard that goes to your heart, your mind. Rom. 6:1; 1 Cor. 6:20; Gal. 3:1-3; Gal. 5:18; Titus 2:11-14 There is no license to sin there, only a higher standard.
@@melodieharder7654 Jer 31:31 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Ezek 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; What Paul is saying is: "You are our epistle" I don't need ink and parchment, Gods law is already written on your heart. I just need to send you, and you speak to them, you answer their questions. It's not a contrast, it's a correlation. Romans 7 The law of "husband" or law of "divorce and remarriage" reference Deut 24. God divorced the House of Israel, and by his own law could never re-marry the House of Israel for their fornication with pagan gods. However there are prophecies that say somehow he will, and for centuries no one could figure out how God could do that legally. Now we know how God made it possible. Matt 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Not "at the same time" I've never suggested that. Are the same, the New Covenant is the same as the Old Covenant fulfilled. Jesus paid the unavoidable death penalty that was owed to the Old Covenant. New Covenant=Old Covenant fulfilled. Context of v7 tells us The Law is not sin, therefore not keeping the Law is sin! V4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. By context V4 is talking about The law of "husband" or law of "divorce and remarriage" not the whole Law or the 10 commandments. Do you read the bible all out of order, you presented Romans 7: 7, 4, 6. Try reading it in numerical order. Heb 12 the contrast is 18 mount that can't be touched. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Ephe 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 2Cori 3 you're repeating yourself for lack of examples, see answer above. Exod31:13-18 is about Gods Sabbaths (plural) are forever, a perpetual covenant Gal 4:21-31 V24 Paul states this is an allegory. Paul is highlighting Sarah's decision to insert her own idea into Gods plan. Galatians is all about Judaizers influencing the church at Galatia, see 1:13-14. Sarah is Gods law, Hagar is the oral law (traditions of the fathers) V23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. Jerusalem refers to the leadership/rulers of Jerusalem see Matt 23:37 Jerusalem the city never killed or stoned anybody, Jesus was talking about the leadership/rulers of Jerusalem. Ruled by oral law/traditions of the fathers, which is bondage see Deut 4:2. Speaking of Galatians, let's take a lesson from Peter: 2Peter 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Speaking of spiritual destruction. Now notice this: 2Peter 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: So this is written to the same people he wrote to in 1Peter, let's see who he's writing to: 1Peter 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Ok we don't have Paul's letters to Pontus, Cappadocia, Asia, Bithynia. According to Peter you're using the one letter we do have, that if misunderstood could destroy us spiritually, and using it to convince people to not obey Gods law... Let's do this exercise, anyone who's read this far. Challenge, show me one verse in Galatians that anyone could possibly misunderstand Paul teaching anything other than Jesus is the only way to salvation. If you can't find one, then either Peter's crazy, or he's talking about people thinking Paul teaches us to not follow God's law. I'll wait. Peace
I see no change in the old to New covenant . Only difference is the laws will be written upon our hearts . God says HE will give a heart of flesh and not of stone . If you have HIS laws in your heart then Isaiah 30:21 (KJV) And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Your statement that the old and new has no change is shocking to me. These are some notes I took a little while back. New covenant v. Old •Direct access •Pre approved. God looks at Jesus record. Old covenant was conditional on your attempts at righteousness. •Unconditional vs. Conditional Unconditional for all believers vs. Dependant on obedience The NT believer is in a covenant that cannot be broken: all of its conditions are on the part of God. •His righteousness vs. Our attempts at righteousness Deut. 6:25 (Deut. 5=10 commandments passage) •Substance vs. Shadow -shadow describes and proves the object, shows movement/motion of the object. No power or life. •No holy days In the New Testament there are no direct instructions for certain days. They often met daily. •Eternal vs. Temporary Everything with Israel was related to time. Feasts, promises. Looking for an end, fulfillment. The covenant would have an end. A New Testament would allow them. Into eternity. OT extended days, NT eternity The church doesn’t have holy days, scheduled feasts nor a definite beginning or end. It demonstrates eternity. •Internal vs. external Not outward physical rules, restrictions, boundaries. The heart, mind. Relationship. Abiding. Walking in the Spirit. Fruit of the Spirit vs your outward efforts. Love. Old covenant-external designed to cause the people to do right. New covenant works from within. Through the work of Christ God places his laws, ways and desires within the believer through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The desire from the believer to do right comes from within. •Blood of Christ vs. Blood of animals •Spirit vs. letter Letter required death. Spirit gives life. Letter-bondage, Spirit-Liberty Letter limits insight. Spirit brings clarity 2 Cor. 3:13-18 •Spiritual vs. Carnal •Life vs. Death Sin and death-focus of the law •All who believe vs. Chosen people The covenant with Israel only applied to them. People could join by adopting the system and practices but it was not open the all like the new covenant. The church is not addressed as Israel. There is no use of the term "Israel" in the NT that is an explicit equivalent to the Christian church. One new man. Sons of God. In Christ. Saints. Household of God. Read the OT to see and understand the purpose and significance of Christ

Exactly. Sermon on the Mount is pivotal & "Kryptonite" to Torahism when taken as a whole, in context, not cherry picked, not twisted, etc. 👍

Excellent 👍 brother!!!
I'm actually having a conversation about this book with a Hebrew rootist. It's funny how God provides the material that is needed to aid us.

So maybe NOT the "it’s the only place in the entire New Testament "

Hello Professor Solberg,
Well, this time you really did it.
That's the rapture ... The title says it all. ...
The true interpretation of gods word is in the image of God (invisible)
13:13 What does the High Priest do if everything was accomplished at the cross? People were able to pray before and after the cross. What is the difference between atonement and taking away sins?
Would Solberg be willing to have a third discussion with Sean Griffin? In your first discussion, you said you learn more by talking to people from different positions. I think you need to let Sean know you are talking with him to learn and not to win a debate.
I hope so. These debates have helped me come out from under unbiblical teachings and doctrine that I used to subscribe to
Solberg thinks he's using Hebrew Roots believers as punching bags, but he's only swinging in the air.
Understanding the components of ancient middle eastern covenant law will show his assumptions of the law are tragically wrong.
I hope you make this study into a commentary book.
36:01 Does the old covenant promise eternal life? The old covenant just gives blessings or curses. Our High Priest judges and gives eternal life.
23:33 if Mr. Solberg is telling the truth then it’s not the covenant that was at fault but the people and this is why the Lord Jesus Christ fix the peoples heart and gave them the Holy Spirit
⁉️⁉️ how often do you post these studies? I'm reading the Bible in a year and am on Hebrews. I want to follow up my reading with your study.

Blessings,
Rob

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
(John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.
1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Paul again writes in Romans 8:9 that “If anyone does not have the Spirit of God, they do not belong to Christ.”
So no, I don’t sin because Christ is in me and He doesn’t lead me to sin.
Jeremiah 31:31 (KJV) Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
This says with Israel and Judah, no Gentiles mentioned.
Jeremiah 31:34 (KJV) And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Great teaching ------- for the low IQed
This, too, is the substance of Isaiah’s awed prophecy:
Who has ever heard of such a thing?
Who has ever seen such things?
Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment?
Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children. (Is 66:8)
New Testament support for a time when Israel will be saved is found in Paul’s words, paraphrasing Isaiah 59:20-21: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins” (Rom 11:26-27).
Though the writer of Hebrews undoubtedly applies this new covenant to the church, those commentators who deny its future application to the nation of Israel ignore great areas of Old and New Testament prophecy.
The basis for applying this passage to the church, though it is not stated in Hebrews, is Paul’s declaration in Romans 15:4 that “everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”
And again, “These things happened to them [Israel] as examples [Gk typikos, as ‘types’] and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come” (1 Cor 10:11).

Yes, we are currently in the new covenant, and Israel, the only elect nation, will enter the new covenant when the Son of Man, the "Deliverer," returns in glory as King.
Romans 11:25 "Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in."
Romans 11:26 "And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, 'The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob;"
Romans 11:27 “And this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
Romans 11:28 "As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers."
Romans 11:29 "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
Romans 11:30 "For just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience,"
Romans 11:31 "So they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now[e] receive mercy."
Romans 11:32 "For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all."

So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God."
~ Romans 7 : 1ff
@@kimartist To be clear, I'm speaking about "the Old Covenant" and "the New Covenant" the word "New" doesn't mean different. Basically The New Covenant is the Old covenant that has been made new again, and not a "novel" thing. Please explain (because I'm a little slow) how does that make God an adulterer? Thank you.

2 Cor. 3 doesn’t say He writes the letter on our hearts or that that is how we serve Him as believers, in fact it says the opposite.
2 Corinthians 3:3,6-8
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Romans 7:3-4,6-7
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

The NT teaches us to walk in the Spirit and we won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Love fulfills the law. Grace is our teacher now. All of these are a much higher standard. Not just outward religious ritualistic behaviour but a standard that goes to your heart, your mind.
Rom. 6:1; 1 Cor. 6:20; Gal. 3:1-3; Gal. 5:18; Titus 2:11-14
There is no license to sin there, only a higher standard.

Ezek 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
What Paul is saying is: "You are our epistle" I don't need ink and parchment, Gods law is already written on your heart.
Exod31:13-18 is about Gods Sabbaths (plural) are forever, a perpetual covenant
Gal 4:21-31 V24 Paul states this is an allegory.
Speaking of Galatians, let's take a lesson from Peter:
2Peter 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Speaking of spiritual destruction. Now notice this: 2Peter 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: So this is written to the same people he wrote to in 1Peter, let's see who he's writing to: 1Peter 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
Ok we don't have Paul's letters to Pontus, Cappadocia, Asia, Bithynia.
I'll wait.
Peace

Your statement that the old and new has no change is shocking to me.
These are some notes I took a little while back.
New covenant
v. Old
•Direct access
•Pre approved. God looks at Jesus record. Old covenant was conditional on your attempts at righteousness.
•Unconditional vs. Conditional
Unconditional for all believers vs. Dependant on obedience
The NT believer is in a covenant that cannot be broken: all of its conditions are on the part of God.
•His righteousness vs. Our attempts at righteousness Deut. 6:25 (Deut. 5=10 commandments passage)
•Substance vs. Shadow
-shadow describes and proves the object, shows movement/motion of the object. No power or life.
•No holy days
In the New Testament there are no direct instructions for certain days. They often met daily.
•Eternal vs. Temporary
Everything with Israel was related to time. Feasts, promises. Looking for an end, fulfillment. The covenant would have an end. A New Testament would allow them. Into eternity. OT extended days, NT eternity
The church doesn’t have holy days, scheduled feasts nor a definite beginning or end. It demonstrates eternity.
•Internal vs. external
Not outward physical rules, restrictions, boundaries.
Blood of animals
•Spirit vs. letter
Letter required death. Spirit gives life. Letter-bondage, Spirit-Liberty
Letter limits insight. Spirit brings clarity
2 Cor. 3:13-18
•Spiritual vs. Carnal
•Life vs. Death
Sin and death-focus of the law
•All who believe vs. Chosen people
The covenant with Israel only applied to them. People could join by adopting the system and practices but it was not open the all like the new covenant.
The church is not addressed as Israel. There is no use of the term "Israel" in the NT that is an explicit equivalent to the Christian church.
One new man. Sons of God. In Christ. Saints. Household of God.

Ezekiel 44 : 15 But the Levitical priests, the descendants of Zadok, who cared for the responsibility of my sanctuary when the Israelites went astray from me, they will approach me to serve me, and they will stand before me to offer to me fat and blood," declares the Lord Yahweh.
Ezekiel 48 : 11 To the priests, the ones being consecrated from the descendants of Zadok, who took care of my service and who did not go astray when the Israelites went astray, just as the Levites went astray.
@@TheBiblicalRoots The verses you quoted Hebrews 7 : 18 - 19... a Better hope is the Resurrection! The former commandment is set aside, which is the commandment of death which is set aside. Yes Levites High Priest eventually all died, could the Levites give a better hope for the resurrection? The better hope is introduced with Jesus's resurrection and his eternal Priesthood!
Jesus had become the guarantee of a better covenant which is the new Covenant at the resurrection, which Jesus is currently the only one resurrected in that better New Covenant.
@@TheBiblicalRootsUnderstand what Hebrews says but the Apostles and early followers reasoned with other Jews based on Tanakh. Where exactly can I find in Tanakh that the priesthood is changed?
Jesus is not our high priest. He is the high priest of the Jews. We Christians are Christ’s body. Why are you trying to force scripture meant for Jews into those meant for Gentiles?? The instructions in Hebrews, the epistles after and Revelations are meant to instruct the Jews to stand firm during the Tribulation. I suggest you read those books with that mindset.
If Jesus is not high priest of all, then God's promises to Abraham are not fulfilled - not now, not ever.
@@kimartist Jesus is high priest and king of Israel. Show me where Paul says Jesus is the high priest of Gentiles… we are the body of Christ. Period. If you are not a Jew you have a Saviour. Only Jews were promised a Messiah and King
@@Badkharma21Gentiles that have received Jesus Christ are now Jews, they are inward-Jews by the circumcision of the heart.
Solberg...you were never part of the old covenant of law.
You were never under the law or its curse.
You were not redeemed from the curse of the law.
Facts matter, buddy.
@maandme91
You’re proving R.L.’s entire ministry as valid. The Old Covenant laws don’t apply to Christians.
Acts 15:5-20
Galatians 5:2-4

I'm actually proving modern Christianity is false.
Biblical new covenant redemption was ONLY from the old covenant of law and its curse.
Paul said "sin apart from the law is dead"
Do you believe him?

Not sure what you mean.
The gentiles had no knowledge of the God of Israel back then.
Amos 3:1-2
1 Thessalonians 4:4-5
It was Israel that accepted the Torah at Mt. Sinai (Exodus 24:5-8).
@johnmann8659
The "gentiles" being redeemed in the first century were scattered uncircumcised northern kingdom Israelites..."ethnos"
Jews were Israelites from the southern kingdom of Judah.
True pagans were never under the law or its curse.
We were born apart from the law...Paul said "sin apart from the law is dead"

The gospel was to go forth to all nations (Matthew 28:19). There is no way the entire world descends from Israel although the other tribes are certainly still scattered (Jeremiah 3:18).
The law doesn’t apply to the nations.
