- Join us on our boat trip from Manhattan’s East River to the Long Island Sound and onward to Oyster Bay harbor. It’s a bit of a rough ride with large passing ships and big wakes. We pass infamous places like Rikers Island, LaGuardia airport and hope to make it to the Sand Hole in Oyster Bay. Stay tuned! Part 2 of our Hudson River to Oyster bay trip.
Made that same trip back around 1970. It was April, I was in a new 16-footer and it started to blow like stink on Long Island Sound. Great trip. I kept boats in Oyster Bay for many years. Enjoyed the video.
Interesting trip. Looking forward to part 3. That prison barge was in the movie Carlito's Way (Al Pacino, Sean Penn). Good Movie.
I didn’t know that! Cool info. I loved that movie! Thanks for watching!
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs only boating tidbit I know is that in NY you only pay sales tax on the first $230,000. I bet you already knew that. I enjoy the video. Today I was up above on the whitestone bridge at 9am. One north lane was closed. Seems like no traffic jams on the water.
I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that $230k tax limit in this lifetime. Lol
I’m guessing you’re new to boating?
You seemed really worried about wakes.
so nice not to have a mast and be able to go that way
Im stuck going around the battery
But thats the more scenic route!
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs not to mention longer much longer lol
Here's a fun fact the East River is not actually even a river it's actually a bay and it's actually called the east bay River not the east River.
