So much to learn! I've been building FPV quads for about a year now but my heart is always with the RC cars. I don't have one yet but just got my son a 2wd truck and I see I have a lot to learn as I get into the more premium cars. I'm new to your channel and glad I came across it when I prompted the search. One thing I learned from quadcopters is its very easy to spend money on things you don't need or on things that are all hype. I hope we can start a dialog as I move forward, I'll have many questions along the way.
Yoga blocks make awesome car stands especially for crawlers and Yoga mats make good cheap pit mats just a FYI There are lots of non RC products that have an RC equivalent for a lot less $$$ ever since I made my first discharger by wiring some 1157 bulbs together back in the day I’ve been searching out cheaper alternatives than what’s available traditionally
Great Videos as always Mark, great tips, I used to own Team Novak mod 1 pinions , but when I saw that Tekno pinions came with a bigger set screw and the design of the tooth is also better , it was a no-brainer I upgraded all my mod1 pinions to Tekno . My friends are using Hobbywing ESC with good results , I use the RX8 Gen3 with also good results. The latest firmware release did help Tekin a lot.
Got a bit of a laugh with those foam blocks... cause I was looking for alternative car stands and my ‘net search showed a bunch of those. Do they work? 😅
Hey Mark let me ask you something I have a lot of a chassis slap on my car when I'm at my hometown track we have a ramp that you jump off of and land almost flat on the ground and I get a lot of chassis slap and sometimes the front end bounces up in the aircould this be due to ride height or shock oil or what?...i use 650 wt in both front and rear with pink and red springs..any ideas...you can see my track on my you tube channel Bunk Blount R/C...check it out and get back with me if you have the time...your just about the only one i subscribe too on you tube who answers questions with a written answer not just a heart or thumbs up or something stupid...lol...great vlog man keep up the good work i whine my night out by watching your vids...lol

Good tips, totally agree on the Robinson racing pinions!
I have stripped many robinson racing pinions... hahaha
You should do an 1/8 scal truggy shoot out with Suggested electronics per manufacture and see laps times with similar milliamps batteries

Yea best buy also sells lamps that are just like r/c pit lamps for alot cheaper too
I always Velcro the esc and the receivers...that’s how I learned to mount those to the chassis.
Tekno pinion gears have given me the best results. I've tried RR and HR
I run them on all of my mod1 rigs.
For 32p I prefer RR
Great tips
Cheers
Cool tip on Velcro and zip tie .. you da man!
Great vid! We need more rc channels like this!

@Korbyn Brysen thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) Appreciate it!
@Riley Abel you are welcome =)
To zip tie the esc you drilled holes in the chassis?
Tekno has a plate to mount the ESC so i just run a ziptie around the plate.
Looks clean

Yes, I've used them for the last couple of meets and the only 'issue' is I need 2 under my truggy. Cost me $4aud each

I use 3m white vhb for my esc. It never comes out lol.
I use 2layers of sticky tape. Then I hit it with a lighter and heat up the tape. It will never come out
