    Hey thanks for the vid. Makes a spooky job seem easier. Went to the farm today and it has been raining for 5 days now and the humidity has been pretty much 100%. Tried to start the blazer bush truck and nothing. fuel pumps is fine and getting lots of fuel just no spark. God bless all you guys who share these fixes with us. It has saved me thousands in repair bills over the years. Everything I save gets put into tools for future fixes. Tomorrow, dirty hands day. Hope it is not raining. Thanks again.

      Glad to help. James let me know if this worked for you. If this does not work I had another issue not at the same time but that one turned out to be the security system. That one is an easy fix. Up here we had a couple of days in the high 90s & a couple at 101-102 and today does not look any better. I do not know how I use to work by 655 deg ovens 12 hour days in this weather but the last few days I got zip done. Only what was absolutely necessary.

    those types of dizzy caps are well known for cross firing .

    Hello, first best wishes for this new year and thank you, you make a great job, I am looking for help, well I put myself in trouble => I think I overfilled my engine with oil, It is a "old baby", a Chevrolet S10 1987 (Durango) 2.8L V6, when I tried to start, it was ok but after maybe 20 s the engine stop, I drained the oil, now it cranks but doesn't start and no spark, with a friend we checked and changed plugs for new ones, please have you any idea

      +Moh Laz Best wishes back at ya. As far as your over fill problem I am not sure. Did you check compression? What do you mean when you said, " it was ok but after maybe 20 s the engine stop"? Was this RPMS? Are you familar with Eric the car guys channel? He may be of help. Let me know how you make out.

    My blazer has the same problem as the comment already posted, it ny turn over but when i put gas in thr carb it would fire and run for a second then stops. I have looked into the security passlock and unhooked the cable waited 10 min and tried starting it again and it turned over just wont start! I'm getting pretty desperate on answers and help if u have any suggestions it would be much appreciated!

      I could not find the video I did for this. It may be one of the ones I did not upload. So I here are the steps to take. First make sure your battery is fully charged or have a jump box on hand.This will take a little over 30 minutes. Put your key into the ignition turn as if to start but do not crank the engine. Wait ten minutes. Turn key to shut it off. Wait 10 seconds. Turn key again & wait for another 10 minutes. Turn key to shut it of. Wait another 10 seconds. Turn key again & wait for another 10 minutes. Turn key to shut it of. Wait another 10 seconds. Turn key it should now start. Let me know how you made out. JoeZ

    I’m having the exact same problem that cranking sound and no spark, I literally have been running my blazer strong for this past month and wake up in the morning for work and have the same problem. Could it be my fuel pump or is it for sure a distributor cap and rotor? Because my blazer sounds exactly like that.

    I have a question. my 2001 s10 it will crank only once then all I hear is the starter? help please and thanks

    Had a problem with a 2005 4.3 jimmy..turned over,fuel pump still working but no spark. Tuned it up changed the module inside the distributor with the same no start issue. Changed the module next to the coil and boom it fired up!! Good luck to those looking for a solution. There was another vid on here where a guy narrowed it down to a bad ignition switch. :)

    Mine sounds same, replaced fuel filter, pump, cleaned gas tank.
    Poured gas in intake and starts right away for few secs, can it be the distributor cap/rotor still?

      Good idea, could be clogged injectors. Since it’s been sitting there for a while with foul gas. Gonna try that before buying not so cheap injector kit. Thanks for your kind help Sir.

      @Frank Wiley let me know if this worked for you. The start then no start happened to me a couple of times before it just would not start at all. I finally had it towed to a garage that gave me a list of potentials, ( none were inexpensive) I gave him the go ahead to run his diagnostics. He charged me for a hour labor with which I was happy to pay. Came to the conclusion that it had something to do with locking the doors with the inside tabs & opening with the remote or vice versa caused the systems anti thief to activate. I checked this out on line & it seems that this is a problem on GM products. Bough the Blazer used & had it for a little over a year before this happened.

    I have a 01 chevy blazer that won't start when it rains. If I cover the hood with a tarp before it rains to keep it dry or on a dry day it will start right up. We changed the distributor cap and rotor, the egr valve, and we've checked the wires and can't find anything that could be causing a short. It starts up like its brand new if its not wet and runs fine but if it rains or snows it will turn over, put a little but won't start. Any idea what might be causing this issue?

      I had a similar problem. Checked wires several times. Finally when checking the wires again ( at night with spray bottle of water) while moving them I was able to see a very small spark. I had checked the wires the same way several times but did not see any spark. New plugs & wires cured my situation. Let me know if this works for you.

    My blazer want turn over but when I put gas in the carburetor it would fired and run for like a second it then it stop

      Hey Matt, Just got on line to check out some parts & saw your reply. Did you check to see if gas is being pumped? Could be a fuel pump or fuel pump relay or this is a stretch clogged fuel filter. Let me know how you made out. JoeZ

      Hey Matt, when you put gas into the throttle body you said it started then died. Is the engine turning over, cranking but not starting? You may have a problem with the security system. Unfortunately without being there to diagnose your particular no start I would only be guessing.

    I have a 1997 Oldsmobile bravada I was driving on the highway then it just stop running. The engine turns over but that it won’t start

      Sorry I am not sure what it could be. I had a Ford Escort, 1990 something cannot remember the year but did the same thing, twice. It had a module that was connected to the distributor that went bad. Just putting this out there.

    You were dead right. Checked everything like you but did not start, Replaced cap and rotor--it starts!
    This was strange because it gave me no errors on the ob2 scanner,

    Hi my 2002 Chevy blazer does that when I jump it it starts right up but when I press on the break it dies

      Hi Jacob, if you have access to a scanner & then look up the codes that would be your best bet. But not having one you might try checking the following: engine idle speed, carbon build up on the throttle plate, vacuum leak, spark plugs, by any chance did the plug wires get crossed? It could also be a faulty coil. I hope this helps. Keep in mind trying to diagnose it without being there is only a best guess & I am not a mechanic so this is where I would start.

      JOE Z I change the spark plugs and now it turns but even when I hook up it to another car it won’t start

      @@jacobtodd1704 If it was starting before you changed the plugs check the wires, you may have crossed them up. Also check the cable ends for corrosion. Not just on the terminals but also under the rubber cover & the ground connection.

      Sounds like the brake problem was never cleared. Was it stalling prior to it not starting when you hit the gas? It could be fuel filter getting clogged, dirty air filter, mass air flow sensor. Again this is my best guess.

    Hello, I have a 2000 chevy blazer same problem cranks but don't start. We replace the distributor, rotor etc.... But didnt work but the code is the same P0335. Something about the crankshaft sendor but i also replace that and didnt work....Still cranks but wont start 😣😣😣

      I had an other similar no start problem, but this one turned out to be the alarm system without any engine light. That code P0335 is for crank angle sensor. Check Technical Service Bulletin to make sure it was installed correctly. Also a bad ground in the wire harness for this sensor may also cause this problem.
      I hope this helps, if anyone reading this post has any ideas please post.

      Hi Jennifer, when you change out the Crank sensor you have to do a relearn on you ignition computer, the dealer do it for about $60, or maybe even you can google the steps, and it could be weird but that's what it takes, believe me I know, I had to do one on a theft deterrent bypass, on my 98 Blazer, good luck to you,,Steve

    Cap, rotor, coil or Ignition switch or a hot wire straight to coil.
    A big issue with GM.

    It crank when you put gas in it but won't crank without you doing it and it won't stay crunk

      Thank you for watching & taking the time to comment. Another no start issue that I had with this Blazer was due to the security pass system. I had to reset it. Let me know if this helps.

    you didnt get it started because of the cap and rotor.u got it started because of putting the jump box on the battery because you have a bad battery. you can hear by the struggle in the beginning the car was about to start then you let go of the key just before and then tried to crank and couldnt because it didnt have the CCA in the battery after the first time. OH AND ITS COLD the only truthful thing you said in the video. because you didnt need all those tools just the rachet and bit extension. certainly not a flat blade screw diver. if you cant remove the wires by hand from the cap then dont make videos and stop working on cars and no the things you listed in the beginning those tools you can still use and should be used for proper diagnostic . go be a doctor and not a mechanic and keep PRACTICING.
    P.S IF IT WAS WHAT YOU SAID THE CAR WOULD HAVE STARTED WITH OUT HELP FROM THE JUMP BOX SINCE YOU DID NOT USE POWER FROM THE BATTERY TO FIX THE CAP AND ROTOR. IM DONE

      Saltine Kracker, I do thank you for watching & although critical, somewhat hostile taking the time to comment. I like to point out a couple of things. That weak battery was due to me trying to start the engine a couple of days before. When I pulled the cap & rotor off they had corrosion on them. I scraped it off & tried again to start several times, with the jumper when the battery wore down & it still would not start. That is how I knew it was the problem. Maybe I should have pointed that out for the critics. As far as using a screwdriver to get the plug wire off what is your problem?? Did you ever have one stuck on in a hard to grab spot that you were going to use again? If not when you do remember the screw driver or go to a mechanic, a little critical on my part. If you are a mechanic post some helpful videos. I am always looking to learn. By the way this was over 4 years ago still using the same battery with no problem starting. Joe Z
