It's interesting how, on the first listen, hearing that first chord sounded kinda bad. But after listening to the whole track a few times, it sounds really good. I wonder how much of microtonal music is avoided when writing just because it's so different than what we're used to. Top tier stuff, as always.
Dude, that's just my experience! At first I thought Sevish can't do music. But it somehow stuck and I came back after a while. Now I think Sevish IS music. Gleam is my fav track of all times.
Totally different kind of music but it reminds me of the noise heard beginning of Rush's Cygnus X-1. Maybe it's just me but I find alot of the sounds throughout Sevish's music will remind me of a wide array of sounds from other genres, including sounds from specific video games even though their music doesn't really directly sound like any of the things it reminds me of. For example I've had some sounds remind me of Earthbound, Cyriak, and the aforementioned Cygnus X-1, among others I can't think of right now.
Both the music and the visuals reminded me of some mysterious dreams/feelings that are probably from my infancy or early childhood! I know this might sound weird, but I hope someone else in this world might have experienced a similar feeling!
that animation is insane, I went to that place on acid while listening to John Coltrane, and I explored the dots for hours as they formed different optical illusions and Coltrane led me through. also great song
Love this track. A collab between you and Cam Taylor would be nice. He uses the Lumatune microtonal keyboard and has just programmed a slightly altered version of 53edo with corrected main intervals, calling this tuning Taylor-53CD.
@@WGSen That's cool you think that. I have a character in a roleplaying game who is from Blackthorn City. My team is Pyroar Butterfree and Bisharp and we are currently undercover infiltrating Team Equipoise. Good times
I am sure there must be something new that 17+ limit intervals offer. But I don't have much experience with this myself. If anybody else has any good examples I'd be interested to find out!
It feels like I'm getting access to new parts of my brain I never knew were there. Like I'm expanding my senses and abilities. Like I'm becoming a new more advanced form of my older self. Like evolution is kicking in at this exact moment.
Microtone + DnB is weird
but it is enjoyable when the one who makes it is Sevish ✨

On the first listen I thought it was a really cool wanted dissonance, somewhat resembling a ship siren.
@@XenoghostTV Or perhaps a freight train crossing Wyoming...?
Persian music is heavily microtonal. Without those intervals it simply loses its magic quality!

Holy what a find, the music, the graphics all awesome. I can see the sun and the clouds through a glass ceiling structure. Great 👍
Thanks, glad you like!
just discovered microtonal it is fascinating, it's like another universe of musical expression
Ikr, so good.
The breakdown at around 2:00 is amazing
Sevish, you are one of the very few people i know of that actually make microtonality sound pleasant and good. Love your work, keep it up!
So happy you're still working on stuff, true pioneer without a doubt
Thank you I appreciate it. There will be more in the future.
Try listening to these while reading Twitter some time.
The first chord sounds like a train horn! I find that oddly charming!
Both the music and the visuals reminded me of some mysterious dreams/feelings that are probably from my infancy or early childhood! I know this might sound weird, but I hope someone else in this world might have experienced a similar feeling!
Catapult into a timeless space travel - great video
The first couple of notes genuinely reminded me of the "Opening" theme from GSC
By GSC you mean gold, silver, crystal? I just checked the opening theme on youtube and yeah it does sound similar haha
Yea, I mean Pokémon
Also thanks
I think "Horixens" is one of my favorite albums now
As someone who loves experimenting with microtonal music, I love this track. Everything blends so well, and very engaging stuff!

WELCOME TO INDRA'S NET
ENJOY YOUR STAY
IT'S GOING TO BE A WHILE
Sevish, somehow you make alternate tunings accessible and exciting. Thanks for all your awesome music.
Microtonal hirajoshi scale, sounds rad.
Finally a music tone so pleasing to ears
Fuck man, that is what I was looking for. Microtonal shit is what I must to learn now.
I would like to see a study done on how microtonal music affects the brain
Inspiring stuff.
Another fantastic track! You're the best thing to happen to microtonality since Wysnegradsky. Please make more!
A genius of the tuning, the alien textures and rythmn in general, as always. Great work, Sev!
man you really nailed those visuals. they fit perfectly to the otherdimensionally feeling
you really understand my internal world
The face of magnesium
Discovered this channel today.. very interesting project!
The arpeggios remind me of 10edo
Dope shit.
Killin' it bruv, killin' it!
I love your stuff dude...
Thanks for helping me with some answers on Facebook, always a pleasure!

Cam Taylor is great, I'd love to collab with him some time
@@Sevish he just replied and said the same about you, and he´d be up for collab :-)
Is this what travelling to the 9th dimension is like?
Dog this bangs
This is really something.
I love the bass and the breaks, the scale gives it such an alien vibe.
How did you compile Just Intonation to a smaller scale?
Scales can be as small as you like even when using just intonation
@@Sevish Ok
I am really happy to know that Sevish is still active! Greetings from Spain!
Ah, here we go. Drums sound much better in the mix here. Quality DnB, and off-time works perfect with the style. Love it!
oh yeah. this is a guaranteed panic attack when high. dont play this around high people its a 50/50 on them being chill vs trying to leap out a window
Awesome stuff as always :o
Visuals like these might've fared better at a 4K resolution, because of the higher bitrate.
I'll try and bear this in mind for future videos. Though my potato computer would have died rendering 4K!
Or on Vimeo?
@@Sevish It's perfect.
badass, especially the apple orchard analogy. how did you make these visuals?
The intro discordant sound reminds me of warning horns that are discordant for the purpose of getting peoples attention. Really sick
I just cannot express enough how much I love this
your production is amazing quality , awesome d&b even without the tuning
More pls
It sounds similar to the Japanese pentatonic scale known as "In."
Thought the same thing, Dragon's Den in Blackthorn City comes to mind ;P
@@WGSen That's cool you think that. I have a character in a roleplaying game who is from Blackthorn City. My team is Pyroar Butterfree and Bisharp and we are currently undercover infiltrating Team Equipoise. Good times
Hey E8 the starting point for this scale was Olympia something pentatonic I heard on a Harry Partch tune
@@Sevish Okay, thanks for the info.
@@Sevish cool
i want this in a videogame
Why no instagram?
Final Fantasy, is that you? You're one of my favourite djs Sevish. This tunes are brain stimulating and very relaxing
What does "(number)-limit" mean?
Do you think that 17+ limit intervals have anything to offer other than approximations to equal temperament? Thanks
I am sure there must be something new that 17+ limit intervals offer. But I don't have much experience with this myself. If anybody else has any good examples I'd be interested to find out!
I think they are too narrow to be perceived musically. IMO, 15 is the practical limit for an “average” human being.
@@alexeypolevoybass I'm talking about prime limit, not odd limit.
The compression algorithm that streams TH-cam videos really didn’t like this video lol. Other than that, excellent track!
Haha, yes I need to learn to put less moving detail in the videos because compression ruins it.
Hey! Great compositions. Can i use some of those in making videos by giving credit to you?

Officer: "Sir have you been drinking tonight?" 😂
Those sudden chords remind me of american train horns for some reason
how it feels to be QPU aligned
I love the feeling of unreachable unreality
Amazing drums
This is the sort of mystical sound I've been looking for. The possibilities...
jazzy
This is very interesting, keep it up!
maaan how do you do this crazy graphs?
I worry that your rendering computer is going to melt soon
So, without 5-Limit?
No 5 here at all, just 2, 3, 7 and 13!
ah nice, makes for a more exotic sound
I feel like harmonic Series in just intonation and simple ratios are generally the best. Don't get me wrong the raindrops incredible.
I guess I don't have to tell you I love drum &bass...
omggggggggggg really niccce
شرقی صدا میده
You can't deny that you sampled a train horn for that first chord. lol It sounds so similar.
first
Thirtythird
10/10 can't tune a guitar by ear now. XD
This almost scares me for some reason... it's very pretty though...
All I want is doom metal in just intonation and progressive house in just intonation. Is that so much to ask, internet??
