Hey Edna, I'm a guy, but retired, and actually love all kinds of clay and resin art. I own a kiln and just really enjoying myself on everything. I simply just love the way you absolutely make it sound so easily and especially inexpensive. there is really no reason to be too fusy, I mean aren't we all just to really let ourselves go and be as expressive as we can be. Buying a few things, like the resin, is really kind of expected, but learning from everybody online, like you, helps in so many ways, to be kinda assured that we can do it, and have fun doing it as well. I love it all your doing, please keep making the videos, I will be waching. Thanks Brad
I so agree bradley, its the best use of free time :) Thanks for your lovely comment and sorry for the late reply, I only just got back fro holidays with the family. Summer is officailaly over, so more time to film and edit :)
I have an electric neck massager that has two flat massage rollers. Once I have poured my silicone I turn the massager on low and set it on the table for a minute. I’ve found it helps the bubbles rise to the top and pop. Works like a charm.
It doesn’t matter what it is, if it vibrates, it chases the bubbles away. My big back massager that sits in a chair works GREAT!! Thanks for the great tip!!
awesome! I bought some Let's Resin silicon to make a mold, I used an inexpensive plastic food storage box to hold the master and the silicon.... wow! it took two boxes (at $18 each!) and weighs a chunk! these methods are so much more efficient and cost effective. I could have bought several pre-made molds with those dollars. thank you, thank you, thank you!
Watching from a very cold and wintery Durban, SA. We've cancelled our beach day this weekend due to the weather, and now I know exactly what we'll be doing. Much love. I do decorative Concrete as a side-gig and the wife does custom jewellery, so we love working on projects that we both have a shared interest in.
Ho, ABSOLUTELY THE BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!! I saw hundred videos about mold, resin and so on: too much chattering useless, no importante informations, confusione and no professionality. On contrary your video Is ABSOLUTELY perfect, few words only necessari, perfect showing everything. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! GREAT!!! Really with all my " complimenti" (l don't know how to Say It in english😂). I am a Little too warm but as l am italian l exprime my feelings with enfhasys ...but It Is true❤
Nice job :) love the Lego idea… seen that done on another channel too…. The plasticine is great to make moulds with as well… what’s really cool about it is you can use it as models for the moulds too… I needed a border that resembled broken rock for this clock I was making.., so I used plasticine to make it… I used strips of cardboard to create the long box and then pressed the plasticine down into it…. Then I took a bunch of different shaped flat rocks and pressed them down into the plasticine… I removed them and the. Did it again until the entire strip had been used up… it was approximately 4 feet long and a mere 3 inches wide and about a 3/4 inch deep… MUCH cheaper than buying the same rubber stripping on amazon… that bloody thing was over a hundred bucks! I was like, I can make that myself for less than half that price…. Turned out PERFECT…. I love making my own moulds… it’s amazing what you can make with the silicone rubber….
So true, 💯 my favorite and easiest method is cardboard, I keep all boxes that are delivered and I precut them into straps ready for the next time. If you stick the base onto double sided tape, I don't even need to glue gun the outside. 👌😊
@@EdnaWargon yep! My garage is full of broken down boxes from Amazon … I have this gigantic box that my new recliner had come in and another one that my new oven had come in… both of those are completely filled with broken down boxes… I make all sorts off containers for making moulds… I love using double sided tape! It is the best thing ever for it… between that and cardboard from Amazon boxes, I've got endless mould making materials!!!
Thank you so much for this very easy and comfortable video. Your pace and tone mixed with your skill makes it a joy to learn from you. I've been making and seeking resin art for 4 years now but haven't made my own mold yet, but i will now, you've inspired me . Peace
So happy to have inspired you Tracy, it's a fun medium to share so thank you back, for watching and talking the time to leave a lovely comment, and welcome to my channel 💞
This is wonderful thank you so much for showing these methods! It’s helpful to know there are other weird household items to use to help make the master mold!
thanks for sharing!! the narration was not only good (so soothing!!!) but the explanation was very clear, and so relaxing to watch!! :D I am now motivated to do the project I've had in mind for like 6 months or so xD!!!
This stuff is excellent at releasing bubbles all on its own. I’ve never done any bubble removal methods and never had an issue with bubbles in my molds.
Thank you so much for this video. I have always wondered how it's done at home. Great ideas for different ways. We all have the tools needed considering the cardboard idea. This really is important to see how it's done. I'm going to watch more of your videos now!!😊❤❤
Can you demonstrate a live edge (crystal edge) coaster mould starting with creating the blank? I loved this video and would love to learn more. Thanks❤
Hello Edna, I begin working with resin but have been looking for a particular mold and not able to find it. Thank you for this amazing tutorial video, now I'm able to make the mold I desire. 🥰
Amazing video Edna! 👏 So many tips and links to purchase these items, really appreciate that makes it easier to find them. Love your tutorials as they are so easy to follow and loaded with valuable info! Thank you so much for sharing 🥰😍😊😍🥰
Thank you for a very helpful and life-saving tutorial I really liked the cardboard square method and the legos which are available in any house. I have a question and anyone can help me out. I am trying to make a mold for an earphone case cover. making a mold for the exterior of the cover is easy enough. I just have to surround a protected earphone case with silicon. However, the tricky part is how to make the mold for the interior and obviously inserting silicon inside the case cannot only damage the device but is not going to take the shape needed. I hope I make myself clear and if someone has any advice I'd really appreciate it.
For others, it’s proffered you pour the silicone in one place so the silicone can rise and push the air out, the thinner the stream of silicone the better , bubbles will pop as the pour, Edit: also pour it close to the bottom to help push the air up and out
Enjoyed watching your video, thank you for sharing so truthfully and meaningfully. I wish you good health and success. I've just become your new member...hihi

Thank u so much edna this video was much needed . Would definitely try this . Can u plz guide what are the qualities to see buying the best silicone to achieve the shiny moulds as i have bought few from Ali express but those are less shiny and they don’t give the best results.
The shine if your mold depends on how shiny the original item that you are casting in silicone. If the original you want to copy is not shiny or smooth, your silicone mold will not be shiny.
Absolutely love the lego frame! I have a whole bucket of them from when my boys were young. There are 2 translucent Lets Resin silicone on Amazon. Which one do you use?
Do bubbles affect the molds ability to cast properly? I saw a clever trick when watching the making of a silicone rexborn. They put the mold on top of their washing machine

Nice video, thanks! How do you understand the hardness of a silicone, do you use a durometer? If so, which one?
You go by the shore number in general. The higher the number the more hard it is.
Absolutely love the lego frame! I have a whole bucket of them from when my boys were young. There are 2 translucent Lets Resin silicone on Amazon. Which one do you use?
Me too, my kids are way past the age of lego playing. I use both silicones, bith are good🙂

HI, as I said in the video, I put them on my Instagram as reels :) instagram.com/reel/Cd6CPkXMtLP/?igshid=MmU2YjMzNjRlOQ==
Do bubbles affect the molds ability to cast properly?
I saw a clever trick when watching the making of a silicone rexborn. They put the mold on top of their washing machine
This brand is great, as its curing the bubbles pop out the top so no need for a washing machine 😉
Thank you. How would you make a mould from a carved Victorian era wardrobe and desk? I don't want to ruin them either I use them it's designs I want from them.

Is that high temp silicone gasket maker? If so, what do you use to thin it and how long does it take to dry?
