@@FiddleflapsVids ive got to ask (I know the Vid is 3 YO), but when building over the water are the floors with post floating or are they actually in the river bed?
@@AnonIllumi Sadly the posts are not long enough to reach the river bed and so are floating, although unless you go into the water in game you don’t really notice it 😅
Been watching your videos recently for inspiration on my builds...and god damn man they need to hire you for real...like youre settlements are 10x better than whoever makes Bethesdas cities in fallout 4
@@FiddleflapsVids Honestly it's just about the only mod someone needs for settlements personally. Sadly you need more than just Place Everywhere for say if you want to live inside Home Plate, the building object restrictions inside there is ridiculous.
Thank you, great to hear you are enjoying the builds! I enjoy re-visiting the Fallout games ever so often, and mods are always a good way to help spice up a new playthrough 😄
Many thanks! Ever since the game came out I have wanted to love the settlement building system, and it was not until I started using Place Everywhere that it really 'clicked' for me. Highly recommend giving it a go! Just remember to check out its other functions as well - it can do far more than just 'place in red' which a lot of people (my self included for a long time) seem to end up just using 😁👍
@@FiddleflapsVids After I wrote that I got the mod off nexus. Did a little testing at my Gray gardens build with a turret tower. Liking the little micro adjusts and that pieces will sit on other pieces where they usually wouldn't want to cooperate. And yeah, quite a few functions with that mod that I'll be playing with.
@@OctumLXV Awesome to hear you gave the mod a try and are enjoying it! I still need to practice more with its rotation and tilting options as I have seen others use it to great effect. Also the extra object selection mode (INS key by default) is very useful, especially if you are not using any scrapping mods 👍
@@FiddleflapsVids I'm gonna have to do a lot of playing around with it to learn all of it's tricks. I just took Hangman's to do just that :) For scrapping, I've got the scrap everything mod, though I try to use that sparingly cause as I've learned the hard way, if you overuse it the effect will be to break your game.
Awesome build as always. I especially love the build over the water- I'm doing my own build with that in mind but found that the settlers assigned to shops over that area will refuse to trade with you. I made a request for the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch mod team to see if they can fix this because I'm using Taffington as one of my water/money makers on survival
Thank you - great to hear you liked it! The build over the water was the first time I had tried something like that, and really pleased with how it looks and turned out. I also encountered the trading bug there (unfortunately was not aware of it until I had pretty much finished the build) so it would be great if the issue could somehow be patched. 😀👍
Love the build man but my question is for some of the buildings how are you able to snap wooden doorways to buildings even if there’s a floor in front of it? I’m having trouble with it on console would appreciate a reply back
Thanks! I build using the Place Everywhere mod and unfortunately not that familiar with the games vanilla building mechanics. Even using the mod, the order in which objects are placed can sometimes effect if they will snap or not. Might be worth tyring to snap the doorframe first and then adding the floor, or having another piece for the doorframe to snap to such as a roof piece.
Great build! I went from hating this settlement to making it my player home over time, thanks to mods making fixing the roof or at least ceiling easier. I never had the inspiration, will or temerity to try & turn it into a settlement. I think it’d break my brain lol but…it’s a nice wee home away from needy Npcs, where I can have MY time lol all my power armours, all my special outfits, everything…& no moody people lol
Thanks - glad to hear you liked the build! I can imagine Taffington being a very calming player home, without the joys of brain dead settlers trying to path through walls, being utterly confused by simple things such as stairs, or my favourite mooing brahmin stuck on a rooftop 🤣
Wow, nice job! I like to build at Taffington but I never quite know what to do there (or with that constantly respawning corpse upstairs...). Great ideas here!
Thanks - glad you liked it! I do remember it taking quite a while to get this place decorated and finished off. Really happy with how it turned out so I guess it was time well spent 😅
I have never noticed them using it and expect they most likely don’t. It is there mostly for decoration, and to hopefully add a little bit of interest to what would have just been a long stetch of junk walls.
@@captainmorgan2165 Not used it myself as I don’t have any consoles, but the XBox Place Anywhere mod should let you achieve the same effect: bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/2650358
Yeah, it’s a tricky spot to build at. Must admit I spent a long time just building and then tearing down stuff until I ended up with something I was happy with 😊
I had always been frustrated by the vanilla building mechanics, which I why I take the easy way out and use Place Everywhere. You can still do some amazing things without using mods, and for me pure vanilla builds are always more impressive due to the time and effort put into them. Keep at it and share your builds when done 😊
6:49 can get rid of that gross brain fungus on that wall?🤢 I mean it is a restaurant and gotta have standards. Even if it is the post apocalypse, just saying.. overall really love your channel and you'll do more video tours..
Lol, I am sure the settlers have eaten far worse things 🤮 Without a scrap mod you cannot normally remove that Brain Fungus, which I don’t like to use as most break the games precombined mesh system. After looking into this I have found it can safely be removed using Place Everywhere’s extra object selection mode or just disabled via the console - wish I had known about this before I recorded the vid!
The blueprint for this settlement is now available on Nexusmods: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/52368/
I have no idea why you dont have more followers. always amazing builds!

I have never tried to build anything at Taffington Boathouse, but now I have some ideas! Great video!!

Those vendors on the road really sell the realism, great build!
