Mostly crimson rosellas, king parrots and sulfur crested cockatoos, but also galahs and corellas. Filmed in the Dandenongs. Music loop from Adobe final cut suite.
I live in inner Melbourne and at the local park there are cockatoos, Galahs and rainbow lorikeets. They are there everyday. You dont even have to go to the woods. A lot of them have adapted to city life which is a nice change.
I did this when I went to Melbourne and we took a trip up to the Dandenongs. Only most of the ones I had on and around me were cockies...the galahs were around but the cockies kept them from mobbing me. I did get a crimson rosella to land on me. I was in HEAVEN!! I had cockatoos all around my feet and across both arms spread out! It was a hoot!! I want to go back so much!! I'd move to Oz in a minute if it weren't for my kids .... :D Love the video!
I have had a pet galah and cockatoo, the galah I had was so young it was mostly grey the pink comes out when they get older. It was a good pet, loved climbing up on up on people's shoulders (sometimes using my sisters earrings to help it get up, or taking off my grandmothers glasses). It loved tormenting the blue heeler dog by barking until the dog started barking and then started to laugh. They make great pet (from a reputable breeder), but make sure you cover them up at night otherwise they will wake you and your neighbours up early in the morning. I currently live in Lismore on the Far North Coast of New South Wales and most days it is like having trees full of white as flocks of corellas line both trees and powerlines.
Wonderful birds thank you for sharing i am from Algeria I released goldfinches in order to rehabilitate them in their own environment nature without birds is horrible wish you the best for the future
All the snakes are poisonous, and then there are the crocodiles, and the Queensland frogs, and the sharks, and .... But I agree with you about the birds.
Parvaiz Choudhry And me ,,,What beautiful colours it all reminds me of St Francis of Assisi lucky Aussies except for the farmers. Thanks for the videos. xxx
love love LOVE Crimson Rosellas - it's such a thrill to catch a glimpse of them flying through the trees - and so fun to have them land all over you like this - gorgeous birds.
@johnfredeen Beautiful video! I really enjoy watching it! The birds are incredible! I live in Toronto, Canada. A 59yr. old grandma of two. I love my birds and have since i was very young. Thank-you!
I see the White sulfur crested cockatoos eating on the side of the road most days on my way to work. And if you get a tree full of these things near sunset it is nightmare of sound.
Benny Hill - In the wheat belt of Western Australia corella's are a menace , they flock in the thousands and can wipe out a crop . Farmers are allowed to cull them via a shotgun . In the depression people used to eat them .
You guys are so lucky to have those beautiful parrots/parakeets in the wild there, we are mostly stuck with Indian Mynahs and pigeons in SA :-(, with a few feral groups of Indian Ringnecks.
Having parrots instead of pigeons is nature's consolation prize for living in the land of crocs, giant spiders, man-eating wombats, billions of flies and sharks with frickin lasers.
@holmsatlarge i am glad you enjoyed it.. when in melbourne a visit to the dandenongs is always a treat for me and the parrots are the icing on the cake so to speak
In Israel we only have the green rose ring-necked parakeet. It is unclear how did they get here, probably culture refugees. But they did multiply in the tens of thousands and make huge flocks. I never understand ppl who try to catch them and cage them. They are so much better in the wild, left alone. Beautiful birds.
They are gorgeous birds. It's impossible for me to attract them in my back garden because of Indian minas and cats. Despite complaining to council about pests in my garden, little they give a damn about the problem and cat plague. All I can do is attract Noisy miners, which aren't noisy once they know me and get fresh water and food every 3 days and my lovely Magpies, including half a dozen crested pigeons and a lone bird same size as the Miners but has a black head, which is also a nice bird.
Look at all those beautiful and adorable birds! Ahhh...
omg with this music i keep expecting all the parrots to just start attacking something xD
xddd
3 yrs later & I'm the only comment laughing lol hahaha :)
INTENSE EATING
😂😂
The squawking dead
The colours of the crimson rosellas is absolutely stunning!
If there were such beautyful creatures in the woods next to me , I´d spend all day in the forest !! You damn lucky Aussies !! :)

The last bird was a king parrot... they are gorgeous, rather shy and quite unlike the lorikeets.

All the snakes are poisonous, and then there are the crocodiles, and the Queensland frogs, and the sharks, and .... But I agree with you about the birds.
Flying works of art.
God was in a very colorful mood when he designed parrots.

There is nothing more joyous than earning the trust of a bird.
In Australia, the parrots act like pigeons, also the Ibis.
I’m from Newcastle Australia birds like this greet me every morning whilst I have my cup of tea and jam toast
love love LOVE Crimson Rosellas - it's such a thrill to catch a glimpse of them flying through the trees - and so fun to have them land all over you like this - gorgeous birds.

I see the White sulfur crested cockatoos eating on the side of the road most days on my way to work. And if you get a tree full of these things near sunset it is nightmare of sound.

Dang to think that to own a sulfur crested cockatoo its over one thousand dollars but in Australia you can see 20 of them for free
godda brin them to the house and get them cleaned up . they arnt cheep .nice birds thow
Benny Hill yes they are pests in Australia. Because they destroy everything even your house. There are hundreds and thousands of them.
Matt 20 of them? You can see thousands of cockatoos. They can eat your house if it is wood!
Benny Hill - In the wheat belt of Western Australia corella's are a menace , they flock in the thousands and can wipe out a crop . Farmers are allowed to cull them via a shotgun . In the depression people used to eat them .
I get tens, sometimes hundreds in my yard when I feed them sunflower seeds and I get over 10 species of birds in my street alone!
Wow I like parrot with different colors😘
This is the most amazing parrot feeding video I've ever seen.
look at all those crimson rosellas! They are so beautiful and cute
No joke. I would go brankrupt from buying seeds for these beauties.
I have a crimson rosella of my own, cutest thing ever! She copies many whistles and even does a very good telephone ring that fools our guests
Incredible beauty! I own a green-naped lory, 4yrs. old named Nikki. She is a beauty! Love parrots!
The birds in the US are boring compared to Australia. I'd never tire seeing these birds in my backyard eating. What a nice park.
Those Rosellas are a lot bigger than I imagined
great colors! God truly is the master painter!
You guys are so lucky to have those beautiful parrots/parakeets in the wild there, we are mostly stuck with Indian Mynahs and pigeons in SA :-(, with a few feral groups of Indian Ringnecks.

It's an Australian King Parrot, quite bigger than the two crimson rosellas that flew off. Think it's a male.
