This time we are returning to the bugged psyker build that got patched from the game not to long ago!

I feel so validated this is almost the exact same build I've been running since the patch!
this is the first psyker build that clicked for me. I feel like it's one of the only builds that use all the parts of the buffalo: your blitz blasts things at long range, your combat ability is one of the most powerful in the game, sword special and push handles armored enemies at close range, and nothing blasts hordes like the purgatus. I especially like the battle meditation node because when you're in those situations where your team isn't doing a good job managing a horde you just become a dragon and can keep your charged purgatus attacks going basically forever because you're killing so many mobs and proc'ing battle meditation
New player hear, I've gone through 4 different youtuber builds for the Psyker; of various builds for the Psyker. This build is the one that allows me to carry my team in matches and survive the longest then all the other builds. This build is the perfect balance of crowd control and destroying flak/carapace armored enemies. This build also feels the most comfortable as well. Only thing I changed is that I use the MK IV dueling sword because it feels good.
To my knowledge, if your Melee Weapon has "Uncanny Strike" the buff from hitting Weakspots (Rending) applies to active Soulblaze stacks. Makes for some nasty DoTs.
I really like the other brain rupture talent that you skipped here. Drop a bubble to block ranged attacks and go nuts spamming ultra fast brain ruptures on gunners/specials
I do the same. I don’t go for quell speed since my fire staff has 80 on speed and resistance so it wasn’t needed
I’m gonna try dropping Battle Meditation which gives 10% chance to drop 10% peril… in the end it’s like a net 1% increase in peril for the spammy spammy. Gonna see how this goes

This is basically what I've been playing for psyker, when I'm not playing it with a lasgun out of boredom
funny, i spent the weekend excavating my badly neglected psyker character and ended up with a very similar build. mostly because since the anniversary patch i ended up hating every run where there wasn't a dome shield spamming psyker around. ^^ especially on the carnival it's a lifesaver. and purgatus was a no-brainer for me since i'm usually one of the few madmen who main zealot and still run around with the flamer. great video, i'll use it to tinker with it a bit more.
It's like when you are playing other games as a DPS and need a tank/healer.. You have something to fill that role, but most of the time YOU need to be the one. I just want to get my Ogryn to 30 so I can have all 4 done and focus on the Psyker.

Thanks for the build! Now I truly feel the brain popping action and have a good toolset to deal with everything.
Originally I ran Brain Rupture to do the Shoot Fast penance (kill dog/trapper/mutant with Brain Burst), but then I got addicted to popping heads and wanted to make a build that works. I tried to make Brain Rupture work with Venting Shriek, Surge Staff, Warp Siphon, Voidstrike etc. and it didn't feel right at all. Brain Rupture ended up too slow, and all I did was spam Surge staff lightning all match. I also didn't run bubble and felt like I was doing the team dirty.
ill be honest with you I never used the Purgatus staff and brain rupture after the new talents system, i was pretty sure that it was garbage but i did try out your build and i definitely like it a lot!!!
Liking the build so far. Have to get used to not having a "ranged" attack on my staff, but that's what Vets and Ogryns are for. Edit: But the force sword is a game changer with the pushback IF you need to.. Or to yeet a poxburster.
Informative, to the point, and has comedic bits scattered about. Great video/ format my only suggestion is the more details the better such as what soul blaze does. From my experience its such a small amount of damage i pass up on it but i will do some more testing on my own to see if i like it with this build.
Glad you liked the format I will be doing more in the future. I can understand about the details of soulblaze. The more I looked into it, the longer I found myself wanting to ramble on about it more and more. Might have looking into a separate video where I go into the numbers

A couple tips for single fire on the purgatus. The flame effects are misleading, it spouts flames in exactly the direction you're pointing when you click, You can't drag it over multiple targets like you can charged attacks.
Also you can stagger quite a bit of enemies, including maulers and pushing over poxbursters if they're too close but aren't low on health
I do have a Mark V forcesword with blood thirsty and and soulblaze. i prefer the one with shred and soulblaze. Blood thirsty gives guaranteed crit on next attack after and the interaction feels a bit too complicated when getting over run. With the shred you just spam light attack away and crits happen. And all trash dies anyway from the forcesword special attack anyway and you are just using that crit on the next group that fills in after. blood thirsty is good for dealing with elites though since you can get a guaranteed crit special attack after you hit them with the first. and you can keep chaining those crit specials till they die.
I'll defo play with this, thank you. It looks like the biggest danger is clusters of ragers as there isn't enough stagger on the hoard control. Also I'd prefer a duelling sword to deal with armour but appreciate your sword is integral to soul blaze element
A possible alternative is to sacrifice a node to get kinetic resonance and instead of going for the dome ability, get the wall with two usages. The simple reason behind it is that you can now trigger kinetic resonance two times at will, so in the event you found a patrol with mostly elites, instead of having to rely on Empowered Psionics you can immediately start popping heads even faster and with little charge time. Even better, if there are a lot of gunners out of reach, you can pop a wall and start bursting. The wall isn't as good as the dome, but with the ability to drop 2 of them you can easily achieve similar results.
i’ve been using a pretty close version of this build, loving it
This is pretty much what i've built once i hit 30, my second build when i want a different play style is basicly the same thing with assail and a surge staff instead of brain rupture and a purgatus staff, some variations here and there but both builds chew through any content.
This looks way more fun than the usual pub pyskers who are always just constantly spamming assail or smite
(And then melts the moment a random poxwalker snuck up behind em faster than a Tau in melee)
this by chance is very close to a warpfire build i casually hurled together
tho i use the deimos sword for single target attacks ( also it by luck came with soulblaze blessing )
and i use venting shriek, for well, more soulblaze, i also vent down the left keystone just to buff brainrupture
Very similar to my laspistol psyker build. I like it a lot.
Soul blaze has a tendency to not show its up.
I use the spear shaped force sword with blazing and bloodthirsty. Yes it's the old single target sword but it gets extra finesse bonus making it less a hoard clear and more a crusher crusher. However you can if you remember your range on melee do a double tap special and get max stacks immediately. Also it must be uninterrupted. As if brain burst hits during the two attacks then you will not get the effect.
Noob blessings. It's so not worth running that combo
Dope build, i'll probably use it as off meta for easier content. Getting sick of my swift/voidstrike/bubble/dueling.
I just hope that the whole nerf was unintentional (my guess is, that they wanted to add the whole severing limbs effect but messed up the calculation) and it will be reverted in some way.
Surge staff builds are so boring i fall sleep… this fire build looks fun as hell. Need to try it! Thanks man.
After the patch made me go back to flame psyker, then AOE trauma psyker than big exploding ball psyker.

After the last patch I run Brain Rupture/Bubble/Trauma relying on crits and using blitz only as a 10% chance to proc on any attack every 15 seconds. You can be slow on killing Elites but on the other hand you can effectively block them from getting to you. And if things go for too long there is always Brain Rupture proc chance to help you.
Bloodthirsty is alright, shred is better. I've had moments where I got stuck in and spamming special action -> light attack saved my life only cause each one was a crit. Shred gives you more wiggle room imo which I feel you always need as a psyker.
I run something similar but I use smite purely because I need it to make sure that my team doesn't get rushed down by the hoard of raggers hiding behind every corner now

I’ve wondered for some time why Kinetic Flayer is popular. It’s free, high burst damage but the thing is, it goes off randomly on any old enemy and only once every 15 seconds. Most of the time that damage is going to be massive overkill right?
Very nice build will definitely be putting it to use. I love flame psykers. Is that a mod that shows your damage numbers?

What would be the best 2nd perk for the sword? I was lucky enough to get a sword with both the right blessings and I have changed one of the perks to crit chance. Need some ideas for the spare perk slot (its 20% infested atm).
Maniac is strong option for taking down Mutants efficiently if you are at high enough peril and charge the sword up. You can take them down in 1 hit without it if you meet the right conditions however having more damage against them makes it a lot easier. If not Flak is also a very good choice. hope this helps!

I prefer the shriek instead of shield so you have more fire uptime
i highly highly recommend trying the blessings on the sword called headtaker (the one that gives you 5% power on hit), and the blessing that gives you more power based on peril, when youre high peril, screw purging your peril, swap to melee and become zealot for 10 seconds. if you need to keep peril higher cuz melee is still needed spam weapon special ability
Headtaker isn't available on force swords - you may be thinking of Slaughterer, which gives power on kill

I have only one issue with this build, the damn randos won’t stop running into gunner fire while I am trying to pop them, which essentially mean they go down, and instead of them focusing range like they should, I now have to focus the range, and the inevitable horde that will spawn because the AI director said, “fuk u.”
After the patch the passive support role is boring as hell in game play for me, is it needed sure, but i am not about to rely on pug dps to get the job done in damnations. Aurics tend to have more competent pug players so it is about the only thing i run my psyker on now. The damage nerf pretty much ensured the deletion of my second psyker after i run his bounties this week. If i am goi g to have a second character of an existing class i would prefer it to be on something fun to play.

Although I'm a bubble bunny I went for the shock wave for the team benefits as it is a good way to highlight enemies in dark spaces. With 6 warp charges from the siphon keystone it tends to cause major damage to crowds and makes most enemies a 1 hit kill for your teammates. I do miss my bubble though and your build is giving me the itch to try your build.
1 question... Is there a sneaky way to get more tier 4 blessings? I only have tier 3 blazing spirit.

And you would not be wrong in taking warp siphon either! The damage you get from it is great, I just like the dome shield way too much
@@BriggsoYT warp syphon is the bottom left keystone. It has nothing to do with the don't shield

Good build, but not sure about that Illisi. There are so many better melee options.
Illisi excels at horde clearing since he already have brain burst against bosses and armored/specials targets. It's all about being all rounder and don't rely too much on your team mates to kill things for you.
I'd say a well-rolled DS mkIV with rampage is way better at hordeclear than illisi. I doesn't have the soulblaze on crit gimmick, but eh.@@hpharold23
I'm having the worst luck trying to get blazing spirit on my force sword but I have it on my staff tho 🙃
I do have blood thirsty on the sword and its not bad it works each time I charge it I also have unstable power as well and it does a ton of dmg
Just noticed I had the wrong staff lmao
i think phyker barrier is op skill. when it's activate team survival rate is go high up and if combo with vet skill you won't die if you stay in the barrier.

I actually think with the Fire you gotta go all in.
Which means Venting Shriek and Warp Siphon, that helps with ranged enemies as well, but it also kills them and makes them easily visible in all conditions.
Shield is nice and all, but i don´t find it that important for the High tier Content, that´d be positioning, the most important thing in High diff Content and especially Maelstrom Missions is....
Kill Faster! Which more fire is really good at.

I wish every Psyker would use the bubble on auric damnation. It ia so frustrating to have a Psyker on your team without it. Absolutely dead weight

Try the illisi with unstable power, slaughterer, and warp rider...
In high intensity games you can move directly from spamming flames or lightening to disgusting powerful horde management with the h1 n L1 of the ilissi throwing in a power up to keep your peril high.
It's so much fun to chunk hordes n listen to the other characters go....is that the psyker doing that?

I made a pretty good gun psyker build you can kill 4 ragers with one clip about 20k dmg per clip.
Yeah, GUN psyker can do nutty damage and pretty much burn down dozens of elites/specials/etc. within one gaze.
But goddamn if you’re not super squishy, if not, tragically frail.
You realistically can’t make more than one mistake with your dodge/spacing/sound+location recognition.
Super fun but hard to recommend.
@hansmatheson5976 yeap but man does it shredd just got a gun I'm working on perks are looking good so far. 90% crit dmg blessing ( lmao that build I made has 95% crit rate ) it does 410 dmg per bullet on damnattion shredder without the blessing so I think it can hit 1k per bullet if I get lucky and if it does then it would be 60k + dmg per clip.
@@hansmatheson5976 btw with the right little shrines or whatever they are called. You can get 200 hp and about 150 toughness
