You kinda need two willing parties to reconcile, and Canadians aren't interested because there is no truth being told, or at best, half truths. These are just government funded activits who hope we pay attention long enough for them to tell us we are the root cause of their problems. Taking their abusive, condescending remarks, and giving them money is supposed to be our path forward. An actual path forward would be nice.

That sounds too much like only a blanket statement since a lot of indigenous people like to indentify as being Canadian too while not being interested in taking away other people's land which more than one generation in their family worked so hard to pay for only so the crown could say they still have the mineral rights on that land when finally no longer having the so called right to carry on a proxy war against them if not allowing them to march onto their land to extract the oil out of it and whatever other kind of mineral rights they want to while acting from their international Commonwealth or whatever companies too. Maybe we should start a Me Too/Idle no more movement for all of us people who cannot apprentice on one of their worksites or because we just cannot afford to go back to school again now too after experiencing more than one injury at work. Lucky for me I am not one of them. I should be more helpful to others too.

Grow up, get over it, put the drugs down, put your boots on, stop blaming everyone else for your problems, get to work making your own life and the lives of those around you better. Don’t care about creed, country or race… are you a good person? Can you get the job done? Do you have values and morals? That’s what we judge people by. Sick of this racism talk. Let racists talk and do what they want… good always triumphs over evil. Good men and women of any race will defend unjust treatment. 99% of people are good people, we don’t have to agree on everything, and we will all stand up to that 1%, together. That’s what it is to be human. We’re all just imperfect meat sacs clinging onto a mud ball in space. Let’s enjoy our time here instead of fighting. Let’s do good while we are here. Help someone if they need it. Be polite and kind. Stand up to bullies, stick up for what’s right and decent. It really isn’t that hard!

Much easier said than done for some people still living on reservations. I don't want to become one of them right now. Nor do I want to live on any of those Metis settlements right now full time too. I wouldn't last very long out there. As usual the settlements are located very far away from where the recipients of that kind of offer live. Same as during the script era and during the population transfers too. So now to do any traditional harvesting during a major downturn in the economy working men often have to travel long distances to do that sort of thing after getting paid work too.

All honesty.. why do we continue to bring up stuff from years ago? Every culture everywhere has hurt, killed, and destroyed other cultures. We still see that today in other countries. I'm not trying to take away from the difficulties people's have dealt with, but everyone does deal with problems and horrific things growing up. Myself included!! But I don't hang onto that shit.. I just move ahead and leave that trauma behind me. Something everyone should do to move forward from trauma. Reliving it, or worse, throwing yourself into something someone else lived with, doesn't heal anything

STAND UP...SHAKE OFF THIS WOE IS ME ATTITUDE AND BE A STRONG PROUD PEOPLE ONCE AGAIN! CRYING INTO A CAMERA FOR GOVERNMENT MONEY ISNT GOING TO DO IT.

Why does people always look at the past? Those events did grow them to who they are today maybe if those past actions did not happen, you would not even be here today. There is always positive in bad situations but it is up to you to realise and accept it.

The high school teacher talking about how hes sorry for what his ancestors did is insane hopefully he knows his ancestors had a direct impact on other people otherwise he might simply believe that being white makes you a "settler" and need to have this collective guilt which he might teach to students.

Mexico didn't invite the King of Spain to its presidential succession, claiming that the King of Spain hasn't apologized for all the suffering Spanish colonization caused in the american continent. Recognizing and validating the pain one sufered is a first step to heal. But complete healing will not come from the outside, but from the inside of all , indigenous or not, being sure of how beautiful, unique and worthy we are.

It’s simple, social science has proven that to resolve this difference above and beyond compensation, it’s‘ ‘education’ invest in quality education and schools. An educated citizenry always makes for a better society and everyone prospers by making the right decisions for themselves and their community. Nothing else will resolve this generational problem. Certainly not constantly complaining about it.

Please do. I am native and Im tired of this globalist propaganda used to denounce and dehumanize canadians. I am canadian. My people were and always have been welcomed as canadians. They have been for a few hundred years. Its crazy that we still have tribes pretending they are something other than canadian. Why even make this much fuss when entire cities are being replaced with other cultures, ethnicity and races. If they did that to my people on a reserve, we all know it would be called genocide and yet when its done to areas consider white towns or cities, then there are natives calling it progress. Wtf. Why are my people complaining about res schools while rejoicing over open borders genocide done to others. Its sickening. Please report it for the many falsehoods. My people have lost their minds... again. But we keep finding a lot of these tv show tribes are fake. Shipped in actors from the US or simply bought and paid for canadians putting on a show. I cant even remember how many fake chiefs we have caught speaking on tv when they dont represent anyone

Some truth. Canada can't have two classes of citizenship where 400,000 own the land and 40 million are very lucky to own a 40x100 lot. If they stop paying taxes for 2 years the govt will sell it.

If truth and reconciliation, is what we really want let’s get the truth out there about the residential schools and all these mass graves that have never been found. I just seen the story how the water on six nations reserve is unsafe because they have to use a system and every time they fill it up cost some $95 everybody who lives in haldimond uses the system and every time I have to fill mine it’s $160 if their water is unsafe so is mine
