Good video and agree that there are like zero videos on how to site a lift. Now we need someone to cover how to site a bottom anchored 4 post lift. I think your lift was a little simpler as it's dock mounted and uses floats (not to diminish what y'all did...cuz it turned out great).
I install these for a living your c clamps need through bolted through the dock at least 4 3/8s bolts, if not you gonna leave it down one day and come back to no lyft
When you said: “We sunk the trailer.” Is it correct to interpret that to mean that you backed the trailer into the water so that 4 people get into the water, pick up the boat lift frame and carry it on to the trailer? Is it correct to interpret that when you said that you “swam” the boat lift from the ramp to your dock, you mean that 4(?) people waded in to pick the lift up off the trailer and carry it over to the dock? Thanks for the video. I don’t mean for my questions to be obnoxious. English is not my primary language so I sometimes have difficulty understanding the meaning of certain phrases.

What kind of lift is this? I’m looking for a similar floating lift for a river

It was full of air so it was easy to move around. It was floating.
How do I install a lift when my dock is not "U" shaped like yours. It simply is "I" shaped and goes straight out from shore.
You would likely need a lift on a cable or hydraulics that isn’t driven by air. These are usually staked into the ground with large beams.
