I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all all the guys involved in this channel. After all the little tips and tricks you guys have shown me today was the first time I ever broke the big 100. Not a massive achievement for a lot of people I know but someone who is still relatively new to the sport it’s such a great feeling to finally see the scorecard say 99 at the end. And to do it by paring the 18 talk about pressure lol. Just a massive thank you again
Love the help! The ground here in Oklahoma is mostly clay, so mid-late summer, it tends to be very dry and hard... Trying to take a divet might actually break your wrist
Very good video! I needed some Type of drills to improve chipping contact. I would also like to know how to get a good backswing sequence anda reaching a good position at the top. Thank you! Keep it going!
Thank you for this video, maybe stupid question but if the idea is to close the face to erase bounce effect of a sand wedge why not using a pitch or 9 iron that by nature do not have bounce?
Great video guys. The bounce number makes a lot more sense. Where should feet position be while chipping? In line with the target or open to the target? I've been using this technique for a few months now and my game has improved a lot. I always stand with an open stance.
Would be good if you call attention to the footwork here. Narrow stance, lead foot slightly back and toe pointed a bit towards target to facilitate rotation and shallow the club out a bit at the bottom - right?
Another great video but since you asked, how about discussing why some of us have such trouble hitting hybrids. Supposed to be one of the easiest clubs to hit but many of them are manufactured with a draw bias and snap hooks are not uncommon for me. My driver fades to the right, my irons go straight, but my hybrids tend to go WAY left. What's up?
@@garydocks8248 Thank you for the advice. Actually the last thought in my head before I swing is, "this is a 5 iron..." I've tried narrowing my stance, playing the ball more in the center, and substantially weakening my right hand grip. They all help somewhat but not consistently. What I don't get is why my swing path is so much different for an iron or my driver than these darn hybrids, which is what I assume is the crux of the problem. If anything, I would expect to err on the side of a fade like my driver, not hooking.
Another amazing video fellas! 💯 The shots I struggle with aren't necessarily the tight/dry lies around the green, but rather the shots when it's wet/soggy and the grass grain is growing away from the hole (against the shot). I stand over my ball knowing it's very easy to "chunk," so I go back and forth deciding how I play these shots and end up not being 100% committed to my shot. Do I treat these lies just like a "tight lie" in the video? Or is there a different technique for these shots? Thanks in advance fellas!! 💪😎
I’m sure the technical stuff is spot on guys but really, chipping on the practice green? You are definitely off every green keepers Christmas card list for sure!
so you WOULD NOT recommend attempting this with a 58 or 60 (with 08 bounce)? I only ever use my 58 for ALL chipping, regardless of where it is or the lie...
Hi Guys did or are you coming down to Melbourne, I’m a Brit based there and a member of a Sandbelt club, so if you guys are around love to say hi or host for a few holes. Sean
I’m a relative beginner and have started taking ginormous divots on pretty much every shot I take on the course. I don’t feel like I’m hitting down on the ball so don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any thoughts?
Hey! It sounds like the low point of your swing is behind the ball, when ideally we would like it just in front of the ball after contact. If you search "how to take a divot after the golf ball me and my golf' then the drills in that video should definitely help!
Being a Greenkeeper this is definitely not a good way to advertise to practice like this. The pro may say yes but I bet the Greenkeeper’s will be fuming as people will leave divots and will have to fix it. It will also make the golf club look like they don’t care. No ones perfect rest of the videos are brilliant!
Chipping off a green is allowed it's green keepers might not like it you see it at golf tournament s only when they absolutely need to but don't do it if you are not a good chipper

(Follow up video)- How to repair a divot on the putting green.

how to hit sand shots from different types of sand would be an amazing vid! thanks for everything guys!
Really enjoy the additional camera angle, and the great advice
This really helped! I was actually thinking about this yesterday since I struggle with those shots!
Great Henrick. Glad this was useful.

every iron has bounce...playing the ball back exposes less of it. 9 iron played forward will still expose some bounce with less loft than a 56.
Welcome back Andy great tips and great video as always keep up the good work Piers and Andy
Thanks Stephen. Hope you enjoyed the video.
Your welcome PIers and Andy and i sure did enjoy the video u guys
That was an ‘aha’ moment. Thanks so much.
Worth a try. So with more grass to work with upright club. No Grass thight lie forward shaft.
Let's See if this helps me this weekend
Great video, very helpful. Might I suggest a video of how to make a full swing from a tight light or hard pan. That would be very helpful also.
My local course, play here each week. Always in great condition even though we have had a very hot and dry summer.
👍 playing there in a couple of weeks. Looks nice.

Hi Eddie. There are not rules on feet but we generally like the feet slightly open. Just ensure the shoulders stay “square”
Great video much more consistent now with my chipping some of em nearly going in now🤣
Great vid, thanks.

So is this video for people who still want to use sandwedge but not bounce on tight lie? I appreciate for the clarification in advance. Thank you.
Watched yous guys play rick n Pete from years ago -loved the elves v the Santa Xmas night golf one -great banter
Yes great fun! We should do another match.
Yea a been doing catch up -liked the open challenge playing all the royal courses ,you really get to see the wind effect .

Grigsby Poland play the hybrid like u hit a 7 iron, not like a wood

Guys, you're in my area. Enjoy the Gold Coast.
same :)
danke, sehr schönes Video
GREAT TIP FELLAS! KEEP THIS HOT ISH COMING!!! AYEEEE.
Great stuff, thanks
Pleasure Nick. Hope it helps.
I’m sure the technical stuff is spot on guys but really, chipping on the practice green? You are definitely off every green keepers Christmas card list for sure!
I’m sure the green keepers won’t like us but there is so much that this can help from a technical aspect.
Oh sure I’ll just go to the club pro and ask if I can practice chipping off the green 😂🤣😂🤣
If there is a practice green then maybe this is an option.
Yeah Kev, go ahead and practice your chipping on the practice green. Said our head Greenkeeper never... 🤪
Guys, can’t you find a bit of bare ground, ball on dirt in between clumps of grass? Chipping off the green isn’t difficult, it’s a soft surface!
Enjoy the sunny gold coast. Looks like terrible weather as always
Can you make a video about how to properly warm up for golf? How do you warm up? What exercises do you do? What stretchings?
Thanks for the suggestion. Great topic to discuss. Will look at doing this for you.
@@meandmygolf. Great! Thank you so much!
You guys should do a review on the rust wedges by Taylor made and how you like them.
🇦🇺❤ Are you guys coming to Sydney?
4:17 green keeper has a mild one!! 😲
so you WOULD NOT recommend attempting this with a 58 or 60 (with 08 bounce)? I only ever use my 58 for ALL chipping, regardless of where it is or the lie...
Yes using a 58 or 60 is still fine. It’s still allows you to use the bounce
Hi Guys did or are you coming down to Melbourne, I’m a Brit based there and a member of a Sandbelt club, so if you guys are around love to say hi or host for a few holes. Sean
Winter weather in Australia still better than the Summer weather here in the UK.
Please give a lesson about bunkers with thick rounded-edge lips ( hope you understand what I mean as I don’t know the proper name for that). Thanks
Thanks for the Suggestion Kerol. Will discuss doing that for you.👍🏻

@@meandmygolf. awesome, will do. Thanks!
Why would you chip with a 56 degree wedge from a tight lie instead of using a lower lofted club and letting it run?
Message for the viewers: please avoid chipping in greens, it's not neccesary and it could lead to green damage.
How do you chip off a tight lie to uphill green
Very similar but with more wrists to help create loft and speed.
Meandmygolf is the best. Watch “brain golf Navamani” to get the in-depth knowledge about golf swing.

How about ask the Head Greenkeeper, not the pro! Course etiquette horrendous already. Very poor to suggest amateur golfers do this on a green.
If you do it right then you won’t mark the greens at all. If there is a practice green then it can work
Chipping and short pitches off tight wet lies is harder than this..
Chipping off a green is allowed it's green keepers might not like it you see it at golf tournament s only when they absolutely need to but don't do it if you are not a good chipper
)
This is a disgraceful video. DO NOT CHIP OFF A GREEN!
Here in the US, they won’t allow you to chip to most practice putting greens.
