I love how you explained this. when I looked at the key words for the fool downright, I thought why does downright card symbolize recklessness? The upright version shows him standing on the edge of the unstable cliff, that is reckless! Surely the downright meaning must be the opposite of its upright and symbolizes being overly cautious! But it’s different types of foolishness.. one pure hearted, spontaneous and faithful and it’s downright version self-sabotage, recklessness based off inner conflicts and ego. Both positions of the cards can be dangerous but one has purer intentions than the other. Really like the mention of a person may want to be in the fool energy as well.. but fear may hold someone back or a toxic approach is taken.
