I sold my 8 string Morrell many years ago & regret it, so I bought a 6 string cheapie & got it today. I still have all your lessons on my computer. I’ll start over. Maybe Ilm do better with 6 strings & C6th tuning.
PROBLEM WITH LAP THE LEFT HAND COVERS SO MUCH OF THE FINGERBOARD AND IF YOU CAN'T HEAR LIVE YOUR OUTTA TUNE CAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE THE VISUAL LIKE ON A LES PAUL OR STRAT.
As a total beginner you just fixed at least ten problems I was having.

What gauge is the low D string? Have you tried a thicker gauge to get more tension in it?
