love this version of Seth. Between the visual design and the copycat character archetype they went with, gotta saw I'm a huge fan of this version over his SF4 design. They're both a toolbox with tons of versatility at the cost of health, but SF5 does it in a way that both cleverly incorporates the V-System and gives me a character that's easier to understand and execute at a glance also booba
Booba bad. Tremendously so, and cringe. A skin with the new textures and colors but without the booba would have been incredibly good though. One little thing that ruins an otherwise objectively better design.
@@tootsie_ Thing is that this is a decision Capcom can't go back on, this is how seth will be forever going forward, and it's pretty gross. If they ever bring him back in future games there's no guarantee he'll have a more tasteful skin.
Thanks for the vids Baf! Changes to Seth were subtle but QoL changes are always welcome, even if I was hoping for more to play with like being to do EX versions of installs or some new juggles. The coolest thing we got though was Ken's install change! Would've loved more of that kind of treatment to some other installs. Seth is still in a great spot with no tier shift for them. One thing about the crHP change being 10 frames now, it allows for new punishes now like Nash's MK Scythe, Rose's Soul Spiral or Poison's crHP.
Does anyone else have an incredibly hard time with VT2 stuff? Only thing I've ever gotten is simple mixups with it after EX spin kick, and that's because it only requires 1-2 movements. I don't understand how baf and desk are doing these combos where the orb moves a buck and Seth is attacking between the orb movements. I feel like I'm missing something.
I dont like the redesign or the need to overhaul Seth's gameplay. But I have to admit, Capcom did a solid job. Seth still copies peoples moves, has great offence, big kit, and low health.
I’m not gonna lie I feel like I should love what they did with this character but I just find Seth less interesting? I can’t pin down why does anyone else feel that way? I just care about Seth even less with the redesign despite feeling like he should be fine now.
@@fissilewhistle I know that. But I still think he’s less cool now. I really can’t figure out what my issue is with them. Maybe it’s the voice not changing or the story mode or something but he’s just really pathetic to me.
@@Neogears1312I don't know much about his story, but maybe it's because his new design is somewhat less intimidating than before because of his normal looking eyes, hair and the fact that he looks more advanced and more robot-like compared to the previous design. Also before he had a lot of great moves from other character with many options which made him hard to play My point is that while gameplaywise he is less lame and is more like his own character before his kit and design were somewhat more intimidating and comparable to a boss character (since well, he was a boss character)

@@thomased22legoyodagaming you can just play the non-booba nostalgia skin then. That has different colors and updated textures.

Something interesting with the sweep buff is that now you can get max range st.mk>vt1>sweep which you couldnt do before
oh word? That's a nice new use for stMK

Tbf i find him kinda lame in sf4
The visual design is dumb but the gameplay is based. Why they gave him boobies is beyond me. Shameless and unnecessary sex appeal. Very cringe.
Seth was probably the worst designed character in sf4, he needed it
