He’d be extremely fun in SF6 since everyone seems to retain most of their moves (so Dan would have a high chance to just get all of his stuffs + 2 vskills and some Omega SF4 stuffs). Though I wonder how they’d implement the taunt feint cancel since most button combinations are occupied.
This Dan is a ton of fun to pay and the changes are extremely welcome. Which makes sense since he is diet Omega Dan and Omega Dan is best Dan. But his taunt skills are amazing and had a lot. That being said, Dan feels designed to be low/bottom tier which is frustrating. Dan is still Dan even if he is legit good because his gameplay, moveset, design, animations, and story perfectly sell the player on who Dan is and why he is meant to be taken as a joke. Just evolving the joke character into a lethal joke character.
Nah Dan has to be bad. Remember that Core A video detailing how him being a joke/bad character works in his favour against certain people as the burden of winning is heavily put on the opponent adding to their stress and potentially lowering their ability

I think him intentionally building off his opponent resources while not being outright terrible is good enough for a "Joke" character. He is extremely versatile for a Master player to learn and newbies can forever play a character that has the depth to never go bored with them. Dan doesn't have to be "straight up good" just have enough trickery so that you can steal wins with him.
Given how much Capcom seemed to go out of its way to break _SFIV_ Dan's legs (only for him to still not end up as the worst character in that game hilariously), it's a pleasant surprise to see _SFV_ Dan end on a positive note and myriad of buffs.
i have seen dan players use the new normal links to set up the corner fireball loop without needing a stun, but requiring very purrcise manual timing, so i haven't tried it myself lol

Dan is definitely going to be a secondary of mine moving forward. This new patch has made this game more fun than ever
i think vt1 is actually pretty good. knockdown into haoh gadoken leads to some pretty good oki situations. if you have enough time you can hold it and wait for their wakeup, or you throw it immediately and forward dash a couple times to push them into it. obviously, it is still not amazing and it would be nice to have more v meter but it works quite well in combination with dans new tools.

I hope to god this style of Dan sticks. I am tired of him being intentionally being bad. He is a joke character, but him being silly and goofy doesn't have to also carry the burden of being terrible. I think him building off the Game specific resource for both players is a good enough tradeoff. Actually making him the hardest character to play mechanically is a good pick too. I don't think he would be in 6, but if this is Dan's last game, I am happy he is not the worst character purely because he is made terrible.
I kinda hate Dan as someone who’s an snk fan. Like considering he’s mocking the series creator lifting the characters capcom was printing money off of it comes off as very disrespectful. It’d be like making a shitty beck in mega man 12 to mock mighty number 9 except Matsumoto wasn’t a complete PoS like inafune sl you can’t even defend it flipping off a complete a hole who cost you millions. That said even I have to admit red fire ball is such a creative balance decision that I’m disappointed he doesn’t have more colors to make his combos all about on the fly reactions. I legitimately like Dan a bit more just because he’s at least interesting and not just bad as his sole trait. The new team deserve complete props for this ingenious solution to an infinite it’s literally the thing that let me know sf is in good hands with them at the helm because crappier devs like modern day arc sys would gut this completely even after they nerfed it to not work.

Being a user of V-Skill I, I love the changes to it, it let's you use it how it was intended to be used but even better now
I love how it's Dan's trademark and how useful it is now, I think this is the best taunt he's ever had.

He was almost certainly designed to be bad in every game before SFV and I think that's the point. SFV is the first time I've ever felt otherwise.

It's not very strong and you can use it up quick but it does work almost anywhere and it does seem quite useful in fireball matchups too
Did his LK knee attack get more hitstun? Because from what I saw in one of his trials, the combo started with counter hit LK knee attack
The hitstun is variable based on whether it hits a standing or crouching opponent but IDR that trial.

Probably if you're in VT2 and start with a jump in vs a cornered opponent. He technically has an infinite if you're lucky enough.
