Did anyone else think they were about to watch a video about a hill tribe that chops up body parts and smokes them... in a bong...or have i just exposed myself as an old stoner?
Please keep original voices and run subtitles. Do not do dubs it really removes the audience from immersing fully. And thank you for such a great content, its amazing to see such variety in cultures from such a small region!
I agree with original voices being more immersive. But Im actually happy for the dubs. I listen to most youtube videos on my headphones with my screen off, and I can't listen to the subtitles.
Absolutely amazing content. I've been saying it for a while now but you're channel is going to get huge. Congratulations on your success so far and all that is to come!
That is seriously deep. I wouldn't like the idea of a body part smoking above my cooking food the body oils would be dropping into the food. A very interesting episode bro thanks. You got to get Sonny on one of your episodes
Good day from Texas Brother, That was an interesting video, because I enjoy learning about other cultures and their ways of living and especially food. Keep up the good work and I will be looking forward to your next video.
Andrew, really like your way of filming. Beautiful quality and I love the sepia color, different from other TH-camr’s, even Sonny! And he has a team that edits for him. Love the story, never heard of this practice in Vietnam. But, I do understand the after life traditions. I hope that guy heals and accepts his life. 🙏🙏🙏

Absolutely great video(even share it with friends on FB) and nothig`s shockin with people`s believes!!! Keep on this way and greetings from Bulgaria!!!
Really appreciate how respectful you are towards their culture, it’s really sad to see them describe their accidents, hopefully there can be more improvements on how the machine works or there can be more accessibility to teaching these ppl how to properly handle the machine. Great video and info :)
When I had a hip replacement, I asked the doctor for my hip bone they would cut off and his answer was a horrified "no"! He seemed disgusted. I guess the rules are different here. Heck, it was mine after all!
Andrew made the best things in his videos he made the speak Vietnamese dubbed it in English sometimes I watch these videos in the background and I can't read subtitles so thank you for that even Sonny doesn't do that
I thought they all had a culture about cutting of body parts and eating the smoked body part. Which sounded widely unpractical and like the worst case of cultural body modification I'd ever heard of. This was quite a bit short of that...
Hey Andy, Saving the body parts reminded me of a documentary I saw years ago. It was about the forbidden city in China. Every servant of the emperor was castrated but they got to keep their "Twig and Berries" in a box and they were buried with them to be whole in the after life. I hope I don't need my appendix to get into Heaven 🤣✝️
Wow, that’s crazy! Actually, most of these northern minorities were originally from China many many centuries ago but were pushed out. I wonder if there is a connection there. It could be a far more common belief than I realized.
we smoke a lot of meat in my tribe, so when I read the title, I knew that it was smoke as in preserving and drying meat via smoke produced over open fire. Never realised that it reads like you're smoking the leg . lel.
imagine in modern world the fridge invented but the diseases skyrocketing but these people smaoke preservation part of thier food culture but they live healthy.
People Around The World Have Their Cultures, Not Many Left Though, It Doesn't Seem Fair And They Should Continue To Live As Their Ancestors Did, But The Younger Generation Is Changing And Probably Won't Be Of Any Help To Them, I Have To Admit Before Showing The Video I Presumed They Were Smoking Them Literally, Thank You For Sharing!
From the headline I thought they were smocking leg. Human leg! But this is almost as strange Edit: I meant like in a pipe. Can you imagine doing a bong hit of leg lol
Guest : wow the meat very tender and yummy owner : yes that is our buffalo dried meet, even tough my wife very love to drink until drunk, like last night. owner wife : sorry hon,i make a mistake coz i used other meat
I read the title wrong thinking that everyone in this village deliberately amputated their legs just to smoke it like tobacco 😂😂
Same 😂
U got me ..hahah
I did too. I was considering cutting my hand off, if I could get high from it. lol
yep same. it's why I clicked it. I was like nooo wayyyyy this can't be real!
They did it on purpose for more clicks
Did anyone else think they were about to watch a video about a hill tribe that chops up body parts and smokes them... in a bong...or have i just exposed myself as an old stoner?
Look up the drug Kush. They are adding human bone to it
I domt smoke anything and i thought they were going to dry and smoke their ampitated parts to help it grow back😅
I thought the same too 😅
Yup
✋

You should make your own videos then.
Keep your views for yourself.
I agree it takes away from the rawness
But how about blind people?
Talking about the smell of a dissecated limb whilst eating jerky in the same video and comparing their smoking of jerkies with the smoking of limbs.
I was thinking "smoke" as in smoking like tobacco and I was pretty confused for a moment hahaha
😂😂😂😂 likewise
Same here
Probably best not to say that in public 😆
Same here 😂
Lol me too
Absolutely amazing content. I've been saying it for a while now but you're channel is going to get huge. Congratulations on your success so far and all that is to come!
The blinks when describing the smell of the foot meat💀😂🤦🏾♀️ Andrew we love you and it’s amazing watching your channel grow.

What a truly wonderful insight into a very unique culture. You approached it in your usual sensitive and curious way.
Thanks Lee. I really appreciate your long-time support and for taking the time to comment so frequently
@Andrew_Fraser it brings me happiness to be able to show support and encouragement.
You deserve so many more subscribers! Keep up the awesome content!
Woww Thank you for sharing a very strange custom. I was born in Vietnam but in a few months I want to go there to explore this family.

Unique culture on earth, this is amazing documentary!
My take too
Wow! I never thought about what happens to amputated limbs before! Eye opening.
In the west they're usually just incinerated
Having subtitles was better than the voice over. It's un-natural. Please have subtitles only.
Thanks for the feedback. Testing to see what people think. I’m 50/50
@@Andrew_Fraser yes please, voice over is really bad! do love ur vids a lot
My pleasure 🙏
Only one word 'AMAZING 😍😍'
@@Andrew_Fraser I think it's more respectful to hear the native language. not fond of this voice over.

I'm not sure what to do first , continue my meal or continue watching this video! both are good but hard to do at the same time
Thank God, I had my food and saw the video 😂😂😂
This was a very cool story. I loved hearing all of it. I just wish it was longer!!
Dang .😮i wouldn't even dare touch it. Your doing a great job.
I enjoyed this documentary. Thankyou
This is a great and real channel. Thank you so much Andrew, greetings from a dutchy.

Seeing the fireplace and the way they preserve mear by hanging meat above the fireplace reminds me of my hometown
really strange that you have less than 200k subscribers
Hey Andrew, that was brave of you to take a wiff😳!
Shocking at best, but you did a great job explaining their rituals
👍!

Yum, I love beef jerky!
Sir…. That’s not beef 😬🫨
Love your topics.. ❤
This gives 'smoking your ops' a whole new meaning! 😂

@@Andrew_Fraser When I saw the guys dried up leg 🦵 I thought you were about to try some Vietnamese "Prosciutto"🤣
Suddenly hungry for some beef jerky
It's great thanks
My grandmother wanted to keep her foot to be buried with it but they just incinerated it they don’t let people keep their parts in the west.
Like Mr. Duong I'd take my leg if it had to be amputated and the doctor told me it'd be destroyed otherwise.

Oh my god this is shocking 😱😯 I would have nightmares
Preparing a coffin isn't a bad idea because it costs a lot more for years later to come 😊
Yeah
if it works for them, then so be it! who am I to say that it is wrong!
Thank's Andrew

You know is going to be a wild video when they need to add a voice over of a translator to the translator in the video.
I thought the jerky came from the smoked leg! OMG!
Ummmm yea nope. I heard human meat is sweet. Idk im scared. 😱
The title feels misleading.
Next time someone offers you some smoked beef jerky, ask for a bowl of rice with water. Best way to eat smoked meats.
😅
Smoke meats with smoke limbs 😂 damn. . Im curious to know what we hmongs called this tribes
G’day mate
I thought they were turning the limbs into a bong

@user-mm7zi4ue7dI am "yellow people" and I don't eat human flesh, ok? You really thought everyone is the same...
Memories a raw, yet the arm is not.
omg. i almost barf when I read the title people smoke human body parts and then the guy marinating red meat.
"Thats the Ivory"
From the headline I thought they were smocking leg. Human leg! But this is almost as strange
Edit: I meant like in a pipe. Can you imagine doing a bong hit of leg lol
They probably think the body needs to be all present for proper reincarnation.
Why do I think he was eating human flesh 😂😂
Aint no way bro smelled the leg
So land mines would be a real sticky wicket
This title was very misleading. Seriously, it sounded like one of those videos about cannibal tribes or so but it’s nothing like that
The body just vessel, the vessel can be have disabilities but the soul not go with the same disabilities as the vessel
What? I’m a Vietnamese and this is the first time I hear this cuisine
they haven't educated anything about 54 ethic I guess :)
"Vietnam's Amputee Tribe - Why Nung People Smoke Human Body Parts" I really thought they are gonna smoke limbs like weed . ... xD
Imagine coming home drunk and hungry,
that meat is like proper biltong, not that road kill you americans called jerky
Hey it's Andrew
At least, they don't eat the missing limb to make it grow again... 😂😂😂
There's definitely a letting go of your right arm problem going on there dude.
Im thinking whatbwoukd happen if an animal grabed the dead meat amd ran off with it
Nùng people won't be that stupid to let an animal take their legs.
I believe 🙏🐉🙏
Sir
Your leg expired its cannot be used again.
Smoked meat over fireplace is totally normal in asian community.
How do you keep it pristine until die?
… are you taking the piss mate .
So I thought these people were cutting off their own limbs and smoking them.... My fault I am a pot head..😅
Now send sonny over to take a bite .
I would keep my arm or leg 🦵in a Michael Jordan shoe box 📦 with a custom interior design🏯 that would replicate Heavens angel 👼🏿
Lost a leg and suddenly he became lazy 😂😂.
Look at the other amputees that still continued living out their working lives
Don't like the dubbing, i like the subtitles more
I agree!
Wouldn’t it smell like decomposing flesh ?
Not if you keep smoking it over and over and over.
Basically Smokey Toe
ETAG😊
That's why believes are dangerous to the humanity
Why on earth are you touching those amputated limbs with your bare hands?!
Guest : wow the meat very tender and yummy
owner : yes that is our buffalo dried meet, even tough my wife very love to drink until drunk, like last night.
owner wife : sorry hon,i make a mistake coz i used other meat
😂😂😂😢😢😢 Don't let philly get a whif of this?
