    I used to work for ups. Once brexit kicked in, the company started requiring us to collect money from customers before giving them their parcels. Asking customers for an extra 300 quid was uncomfortable and time-consuming. The customers were puzzled most of the time. Id have to phone the office for the custy to pay over the phone. Long. Needless to say the work started to dry up at ups.

    The NHS had nearly 44,000 appointments dealing complications caused by FGM during 2023 - 2024 alone. The procedure is inflicted on the girls between the ages of 5-9 usually but it can be younger or older on some occasions. Harley St is there catering for the more wealthy apparently. This is illegal in Britain.

    • @ansfridaeyowulfsdottir8095
      @ansfridaeyowulfsdottir8095 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      There were 6,655 individual women and girls in 2023 to 2024.
      {:o:O:}

    • @skippy6462
      @skippy6462 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The claim of nearly 44,000 NHS appointments dealing with FGM complications in 2023-2024 is not accurate based on official data. The NHS reports that, during this period, 6,655 women and girls were identified as affected by FGM, accounting for 14,355 total attendances-a significant issue, but far from the number stated.
      FGM is indeed illegal in the UK under the Female Genital Mutilation Act 2003, which prohibits the procedure and taking someone abroad for it. While FGM is often inflicted on girls aged 5-9, it can happen at other ages, depending on cultural practices.
      As for allegations about FGM being performed on Harley Street, there is no publicly available evidence to support this claim. If such practices are occurring, they would be serious criminal offenses and should be reported to the authorities.
      It's vital to raise awareness about FGM, but it's equally important to ensure our facts are accurate to maintain credibility in these discussions.

    No politicain is metioning brexit in a negative light is because it wasn't partisan. The brexit referendum had people from all sides of the political spectrum voting for and against. Some labour politicians are brexiteers. Some remainers are conservative. Whoever brings that up risks alienating parts of their own parties and voters.

    If the US bans the export of nVidia chips necessary for certain AI development to the EU but not to the UK, that alone would be an incredible benefit if we can take advantage of it. Even without such a ban, EU red tape could still give the UK a head start over the rest of the EU.
    Of course, that would require looking forward instead of obsessing over an irreversible event from almost a decade ago.
