- For more than five decades now, Bablu Chakraborty has been selling books near Fort, Mumbai and in the process have devoured up wide range of subjects and authors.
The film covers a day in his life as he talks about how he got into the bookselling business, his unique method of book collecting and what motivates him to read every book before giving it away to a customer. A proponent of ‘simple living’ and a lover of philosophy, he shows us his world of books and how they managed to change his lifestyle forever.
The film derives its title from Bablu Chakraborty’s favourite book: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig.

The universal truth is that the books choose the customers not vice versa. The books have a high vibrational frequency to touch the lives, converting a good into a great Soul forever...
I was clicking pictures randomly and when I saw his stall I stopped and asked him can I click one picture of his book stall.
I literally had no idea that guy is on TH-cam. Great work done guys.
Today I went to Mumbai to meet him and I couldn't find him and then I asked around and they said that 2-3 months ago he was very ill so he was hospitalized after discharge his sister took him kolkata .
1 month ago he passed away.
It broke my heart that I couldn't even meet him once . he was great soul.

There are so many amazing things in the video. But what I love the most is the fact that all the background noise (sound) and the voice of the person somehow produce this amazing experience that is musical. It makes you calm. The background music too :) The video makes you feel that it is so loving and genuine (if that makes sense :P).

What is sad is...the e-commerce has so much power of disruption that in next decade we may not see them....
The booksellers cannot match them in volume , sales and prices...
It is convenient and easy to order from home .
What pains me is not only the loss of livelihood of the common man but also the human cost to this disruption

Today I met Bablu Sir, had an hour long conversation and trust me, this might sound as an overstatement, but He was exactly what I was looking for. He gave me immense wisdom. In an hour, he has busted my so called myths about life & explained me some comprehensive things in a very subtle manner. I have promised myself to meet him almost every week.
Thankyou so much for this video. This has made me respect him so much more.

When I was in Mumbai and specialising in my middle eastern studies, I went searching many books specially fiction to grasp the essence of middle East. This uncle helped me a lot gave me lot of books and infact his recommendation was of great help.
