Crazy how that's the one memory everybody seems to have of this show. I remember watching it when I was younger and all I recall about this show in its entirety was being freaked out by that one episode.
One thing I notice that makes this series so unique and unsettling is that there's basically never an establishing shot or extreme wide shot. Probably just because of the puppetry and budget, but it certainly makes the show more searing and everything feels like a sweaty food truck.

Knowing the kid I was, I probably hated Mr. Meaty very much, but now these episodes seem almost funny in a morbid, random way. Still wouldn't like watching it now bc my distaste for gross-out humor remains, but I like how it finds new ways to make me go _"Wtf???"_ , credit where it's due.
Strongly agree cause I loved it when I was 10 and it was pretty great, now I definitely can see this as a major hit on paramount plus if they would've put more effort into the storyline cause the characters needs more development. Nickelodeon should've waited until now to have did that series

I remember playing a Mr Meaty video game on the Nick website, it was like a fishing game except it was in a deep frier instead of a lake. Also remember the show, unfortunately. Weird though, the show rarely freaked me out as a kid, but as an adult it does.
another weird fact in the iceberg of Mr meaty lore... there was once a thing you could do called the "fairly meaty mashup", i swear i am not lying but you basically copied clips from fairly odd parents and Mr meaty (and only these 2 shows from what i know) and make your own video that might appear on the channel
Good God, the tapeworm episode... I forgot the characters, and the name of the show. But I never forgot the damn tapeworm episode... that shit will stay with me forever
I remember kinda liking Mr. Meaty back in the day, and I remember liking the super uncanny, slightly distressing, surrealist style of the show. I remember Mr. Meaty, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Invader Zim sparking my fascination with the gruesome, disturbing, and horrific. Also I fall into that group of 6-10 year olds that caught it early in the day
Guess i could say the same. This.. show on the other hand.. still has me with that tapeworm episode. Just now I'm realizing that maybe this episode was a reasons why i was so afraid of worms growing up. (Loved Invader Zim, Courage the cowardly dog, and Billy & Mandy tho)
The show may have been weird but it had the BEST theme song. "All of God's creatures, fresh off the grill. So come on down to Mr. Meaty, where friends meet to eat MEAT."
I remember seeing a short for this show right after The Amanda Show and it scared me so much it made me cry. This was years before it actually became a full series so by the time it aired I was much braver and the episodes I saw weren't nearly as horrifying. But the time I first saw it, man I was NOT ready!
I have Nick Picks DVD that has an episode of this show along with The X's, the SpongeBob medieval special, and Catscratch. I watch it every so often just to think "Yes, this was a thing, and I loved it for some weird reason as a child". It's the weird flex of Nick shows
One time I was sleeping over at my grandma's house with all of my cousins, and for some reason I randomly woke up at like 3am and the first thing I saw was the mooch master episode of mr. meaty. I've been traumatized since.
I was six or seven when this show first aired. I didn't watch it much. I don't remember why, but I do remember actively avoiding when it came on sometimes. I think it creeped me out a little bit back then. I couldn't remember the details from any episode, but as soon as you mentioned "tapeworm" a flood of memories rushed in. Crazy how that happens. What a bizarre show. Great video.
The most memorable line in any TV show from my childhood is still when Wedgelor said "Ya didn't say I couldn't cheat." No idea why. Also, you didn't even mention how the main characters are literally copy-pastes from Drake and Josh, lol
I can't believe I'm willingly sitting down to watch this video while eating Burger King and am continuing to eat my Burger King while it continues what the heck is wrong with me I thought my stomach was weaker than this
This show came when I was 6 and ended when I was 8 going on 9. I remember LOVING this show and thinking it was strange but still hilarious. Watching this video at 22 I can’t stop thinking, “how tf did my parents let me watch this nightmare of a show??”. It’s so cursed bro. I’ll never understand how Nickelodeon let this fly under the radar. 💀
this show was so viscerally unpleasant that i avoided it like the plague and watching this video nearly made me wanna barf multiple times. i'm glad nothing of value was missed.
I feel like i'm the only person that actually enjoyed this show as a kid. I was weird kid that liked creepy kid shows like "ren & stimpy" and "Invader zim." Even though this show bothered a lot of kids, I think they still get a A for effort in my book for creativity and bringing back puppetry to a newer audience.
I loved this show as a kid too ! I liked the labyrinth and dark crystal and thought puppets were sick as fuck. Practical effects will look good forever !!! We need more !!
God this show was so nasty just the intro alone made my stomach queasy. I remember being distressed and confused by the episodes as a kid and honestly not much has changed lol. Thanks for all your awesome content!
I loved this show as a kid, I was in the perfect stage of being able to enjoy gross-out humor I think there's something to be said about the puppet designs too, they're all very expressive and pleasant to look at in a strange way
Strange to me how people only a few years younger than myself only vaguely remember Mr. Meaty. I lived for this show and everything on the channel Nicktoons. My personal favorite was Making Fiends
I fucking remember this show! My family and I were watching nick and saw it late at night, and just had the most "wtf is this shit" experience ever. We treated it like a surreal horror short and loved the series. The whole experience is probably a huge reason why I enjoy surreal horror media as much as I do now, honestly.
Odd story. I actually had tape worms when this show was airing. After they were gone i saw the tape worm episode and was permanently etched into my mind ever since
I figured I was probably embellishing how intense and creepy and hypnotic this show was- that's happened a lot with stuff I watched as a kid- nope, it's just like that, it's all close-ups and the voice acting hardly matches with the puppets.
It's so weird, there's nothing creepy or disturbing about the premise. Two guys work at a fast food joint and bizarre shit happens to them. Could've been like regular show. But somehow they turned it into the most cursed show on Nick.
But you’r have to eat a Mr. Meaty burger regularly to keep the effects going. I’d rather be misgendered for the rest of my life than do that. ...maybe.
I remember the DVD with the ‘SpongeBob Medieval episode’. Before the episodes, there was a trailer. It featured all of the different shows, only on Nick or Nick DVDs. During the trailer, it featured plenty of Nick shows and Nick Jr. shows- but I remember specifically one. The Mr. Meaty part. I remember just that showing up for about 10 seconds or less, but I remember it so specifically being the only one. Thank god I didn’t watch it until I was at a mature age or oh my god, I would’ve been petrified for life. I actually forgot the title one time so I had to look up “Puppet show about burger restaurant” and Mr. Meaty showed up. Memories instantly surged in my head. I watched a few episodes and.. yikes. That’s my experience with Mr. Meaty.
So you know how in Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Meatwad often watches these utterly bizarre and disturbing puppet shows on TV, and the joke is that they pass as children's entertainment in the ATHF universe and how it's absurd that Meatwad enjoys them at face value? This feels like one of those.
The tape worm one is the main thing I remember. I remember watching like one or two episodes and then never watching another ever again. I was surprised to hear it went on for more than one season.
I remember watching maybe a minute of this as a kid (don't remember what happened) and then changing the channel and making a conscious effort to avoid EVER having to watch that show ever again lmfao
Am I the only one that LOVED this show when I was younger? I just felt like I was in a TOTALLY different world when it came on. Reminds me of some of the feelings I got from watching certain episodes of Ren and Stimpy.
You may be one of the few people that actually liked this show because I thought it was weird and the character designs were so repulsive to me as a kid that it was almost mesmerizing in a bad way.

there was once a thing you could do called the "fairly meaty mashup", i swear i am not lying but you basically copied clips from fairly odd parents and Mr meaty (and only these 2 shows from what i know) and make your own video that might appear on the channel
Yeah that game was really fun
Good God, the tapeworm episode... I forgot the characters, and the name of the show. But I never forgot the damn tapeworm episode... that shit will stay with me forever
i know this whole video my anxiety has been flaring bc i know that episode was bound to come up
Idk what it was about that episode that made me remember it but I know I’ll never forget it
@@SlickSkuddy idk either man... maybe the tapeworm, but that’s up for debate
I remember hating this show because of that tapeworm episode.
Younger me literally had nightmares about the damn show and episode.
"a roulette wheel between being completely and utterly traumatized and being kind of bored" story of my life
i literally cant look at the puppets from this show without being in constant mild fear lmao
"Do you remember mr. Meaty?"
*Me having years of this show stored away now surfacing*
"Content Warning: Cannibalism"
Excuse me?
That show is the definition of a ''Fever Dream''
i literally changed the channel whenever this show came on i was too scared
I was honestly convinced this show was a series of fever dreams I had until you just confirmed it indeed did exist
Thinking back, this show couldn't possibly have been why lol.
Yeah I always thought this show was golden I was also in that age group
The show may have been weird but it had the BEST theme song. "All of God's creatures, fresh off the grill. So come on down to Mr. Meaty, where friends meet to eat MEAT."
Oh that's where that comes from. I remember singing that as a kid but couldn't remember where I heard it
I’m SO incredibly upset that this video reminded me of this show despite years of trying to bleach it from my memory
i try to forget about this drug trip of a show every day
I remember seeing a short for this show right after The Amanda Show and it scared me so much it made me cry.
It's the weird flex of Nick shows
Man, I used to love Catscratch, I still remember playing some of the games on Nick.com.
Nice. That dvd had a short print run so its super out of print now
Catscratch and The X's especially are very underrated.
My uncle got me that for my 5th birthday, I’ve never forgiven him.
The X's is SUCH an underrated Nicktoon!
One time I was sleeping over at my grandma's house with all of my cousins, and for some reason I randomly woke up at like 3am and the first thing I saw was the mooch master episode of mr. meaty. I've been traumatized since.
Seems like it was either this or the George Lopez show as the Nickelodeon shows to randomly wake up on
This show is literally Don't Hug Me Im Scared: Nick Edition
If don’t hug me I’m scared was boring
Salad Fingers
@John Stonik lol u wish, don’t hug me I’m scared is 1000x better than Mr meaty in every way
Meh
I can't believe I'm willingly sitting down to watch this video while eating Burger King and am continuing to eat my Burger King while it continues what the heck is wrong with me I thought my stomach was weaker than this
Same thing instead of a burger it was a cup of Oreos and Milk whilst using a spoon to eat it.
Personally I wasn't sure if it would be a better idea to eat lunch before watching this. Now I'm hungry but also don't wanna eat.
I woke up and thought "I better eat".
Then I saw this notification.
Now I'm still hungry but laying in bed and wondering how this show existed.
oh my god so quirky!
Me at 7 years old: haha, puppets go brrr
Me 12 years later: how did I watch this and not get traumatized?
I wonder the same thing. I was actually 5 when this first aired.
Same. I liked it though it was silly and funny.
SAME
I feel like i'm the only person that actually enjoyed this show as a kid.
And Courage The Cowardly Dog
I loved mr meaty
You’re not weird for liking this, we just have an appreciation for things that choose to be different and that’s alright :)
Lmao I like things that are bizzare and somewhat disturbing
The tapeworm still haunts me to this day

God this show was so nasty just the intro alone made my stomach queasy. I remember being distressed and confused by the episodes as a kid and honestly not much has changed lol. Thanks for all your awesome content!

They do have Drake and Josh's corresponding names
Josh = *Josh* Nichols
Parker = Drake *Parker*
Drake and josh is my favorite Nickelodeon show ever
I loved this show as a kid, I was in the perfect stage of being able to enjoy gross-out humor
I think there's something to be said about the puppet designs too, they're all very expressive and pleasant to look at in a strange way
Me too it a weird but entertaining for us and do you remember playing the fishing 🎣 game on nickelodeon
Maybe I’m deranged but as a kid, the off putting creepiness of it all pulled me in
Honestly and truthfully I enjoyed watching the show
Yes that's normal basically thats why people enjoyed don't hug me im scared
Lmao I liked the show as a kid
Same, I thought it added to its grossness which is what they were going for to appeal to tweens
It was one of the first puppet type shows I’ve ever seen and I found it all fascinating
So, this show was basically 'Good Burger' on acid.?
Bold of you to assume Good Burger *wasn't* on Acid.
Goodburger on meth
I used to think this WAS Goodburger
To me it was like good burger meets regular show lol I still love this show to this day it still makes laugh lmao
It reminds me of the Simpsons meets Ren and Stimpy.
Strange to me how people only a few years younger than myself only vaguely remember Mr. Meaty. I lived for this show and everything on the channel Nicktoons. My personal favorite was Making Fiends
Omg making fiends was the shit, 10/10 best show
Agreed making fiends was the best show and Mr meaty was my follow up. I really liked both of them in nickelodeon
I can’t even lie I used to ship Vendetta and Charlotte for some reason
Making Fiends was my JAM I loved that show so much
Making fiends is so forgotten but I remember loving it so much
I fucking remember this show!
After they were gone i saw the tape worm episode and was permanently etched into my mind ever since
This show gave me actual nightmares
I figured I was probably embellishing how intense and creepy and hypnotic this show was- that's happened a lot with stuff I watched as a kid- nope, it's just like that, it's all close-ups and the voice acting hardly matches with the puppets.
It's so weird, there's nothing creepy or disturbing about the premise. Two guys work at a fast food joint and bizarre shit happens to them. Could've been like regular show. But somehow they turned it into the most cursed show on Nick.
Jesus the theme song was like the telltale heart in my brain.
All God's creatures / fresh off the grill!
So come on down to Mr. Meaty! Where friends meet to eat meat!

So you know how in Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Meatwad often watches these utterly bizarre and disturbing puppet shows on TV, and the joke is that they pass as children's entertainment in the ATHF universe and how it's absurd that Meatwad enjoys them at face value?
