The Cypress Lounge used to be one of my favorite watering holes back in the day in Gainesville. The way he describes how dark it is in there when you walk in out of the Sun is exactly right on!
Don't think he ever wrote about Dubs, but would have been a good story.

One of the greatest and here he is at his finest. Still in shock of his passing and wish someone would shake me, wake me up and tell me it was just a bad dream. This guy hits deep and there will never be another like him. God has blessed your soul and may you rest in peace Sir Tom Petty.

There are so many versions of how Tom does this song, it’s like everyone is its’ own version, this one was a little more settle and more about the story, and mellowed out, if you look at how he played this song back in the 90’s it has a much different vibe. Not saying I don’t like this version, i just think it’s cool how he keeps mixing it uo trying new things just having fun with it. This is authenticity at its’ finest, and Tom Petty is obviously one to not be afraid of trying new things. By far the best artist to ever exist in my opinion

I'd give a lot of people better songwriting credit than Springsteen.

I loved this one when it came out way back then as I guessed he was talking about the Frontier out by Salt Springs, FL...coulda been the Coral Lounge in Ocala maybe...probably a dozen good candidates in that part of the state. It's great to hear Tom and the band reviving the tune, Hey, Tell me bout Life!!! Awesome. Ya?
