Thank you for watching this video. It's a long one! It took me almost as long to put the video together as it did to build the table. I've added chapters to the video so you can click around and watch the parts that are most interesting to you. You can click on the chapters in the description or you can mouse over the timeline. There's definitely a lot of interesting content, so watch the whole thing if time permits. Please like and subscribe if you haven't already done so. Thanks! **** I forgot to add in the voice over that you should always use a blade guard when using a jointer. I removed the blade guard for this video only so you could see how the tapering worked, but I would never do that in normal practice. ****

Love your chess boards. They are truly amazing. They will become true heirlooms to be passed down. I was wondering what roller you are using to spread your glue? To me it looks like a regular nap small paint roller.

Absolutely beautiful. I think the "A" feet are a terrible design choice by the client (would have looked much smarter with the spherical chess-ball feet or something similar), but that's hardly the woodworker's fault. Incredible work as usual.

I don't understand why you made the board removable. I have sold a few tablets and have never made them removable. The seams look like a horrible mess catcher. It is beautiful though. I have never used brass or gold leaf that's an idea I typically use a 4th wood for the inlays to set it apart. My favorite table I have made was a cherry table with curly Mapplethorpe and mahogany with purple heart accents but I do a 1/4 inch border around the board and 1/8 inch between the squares. It brakes up the board beautifully.

You are without doubt the master at Chess Boards and tables. Very informative to watch. I hate to think what the materials alone cost for this project, you must have a client that appreciates what hand made pieces cost. Things I don't like: 1. Brass inlays, reminds me of the 70's. 2. The "A" feet, I understand that's what the customer wanted, but they do not appeal to me at all. 3. Elevator music behind the commentary, I'd rather just have the commentary. Thanks again, I look forward to your videos.

    ---
Greetings. I congratulate you for the exquisite work, demonstrating great and varied skills, which could only be done based on years of practice and improvement. Taking orders from customers "off the curve" is not for everyone!
On the other hand, in terms of "Occupational Safety", I found it scary. It made me nervous to see the proximity of the hands to the saws. Despite the filming needs, there are too many risks involved. And in the USA there are many accidents with woodworking saws.
Filming and editing work is a separate chapter. Very well edited and of great didactic value. And I really appreciate seeing well done joinery work, using the most diverse resources.

Love your stuff, you make not only great videos and even better pieces. You may want to think about investing in a festool domino tool. I bought the small one for some light joinery but I would love to pick up the big boy for some of the furniture pieces I make that don't require mortis and tenon joinery or the customer doesn't want it. Worth the money and still just as strong.
