Jak and Daxter Theory: How Did Baron Praxis Find Jak? (old-ish video)

You know how at the start of Jak 2 the Barons guards find Jak and somehow knew who he was and where and when to find him? Have you ever wondered how they knew? Well, I tried my hardest to find the answer for this Jak and Daxter theory, so enjoy!

Hmmm... I remember someone saying that Metal Kor who met Jak at the opening of the Rift Gate of Jak 2 went back to the Timeline of Jak 2 and must have "informed" Baron Praxis about the "uniqueness" of Jak being an "Eco Welder" so that Praxis could use him as the specimen in his "Dark Warrior Program". Then Baron Praxis told Errol to have Jak found and arrested.
By doing this "Metal Kor" would have "older Jak" tainted with Dark Eco so older Jak couldn't use the "Precursor Stone" against Metal Kor that Kor may have feared.
Jed Mask well he still did, and that stone was really an egg

He tried to stop the future from happening and ended up being the source of his own downfall
When he says "this is where you began" he simply meant Jak was born in the future.
That part where you say onin knew the events or jak 2 is likely since when onin "first" saw jak she said it is good to see you again jak but jak responds but we have never met before where onin (trhough pecker) says before, after it is all the same
To make it short and sweet, Onin could not keep a secret.
Great ideas. I think that the Onin idea is the case. If she hadn't told Praxis where Jak was, Jak wouldn't have been able to rid Haven of its tyrant.
Yeah, Onin can see the future. She must have known that it would all balance itself out in the end.

Although, she can't always see into the future. In Jak 3, Pecker says "Onin says she see's your future turning black with uncertainty". But, in this case I think that's whats happened. Thanks for watching.
Powercell Freak Actually, fun fact, (though not technically a fact since there is no way to prove it), accounts Jak Mar and ThatAmericanBrunette are both mine. I abandoned the channel for personal reasons. Jak Mar is a channel I use solely for comments and this new account, BallisticBella, is the one I intend to use for videos in the near future.

I can answer this with a high amount of proof u see jak 2 in the begining kor was there he invaded sandover village to create the armies he had in the future kor knew that jak was going to his timeline aka the future so kor made a nest somewhere and will probably be fighting jak again from the future remember that mar was fighting the hora quan for 2 000 years approximatly and 2000 years is the gap between how far jak 1 and jak 2's timeline difference so obviously jak did not beat kor at that time because jak(after the events of jak 3) that the only thing he should do is to create everything needed for his younger self(from jak 2)to beat kor for example the precursor stone and the weapon mar made aka jak from the future that jak from jak 2 will use to break the precusor stone so mar easily became a legend because of timetravel knowing everything before it happens so thats my theory feel free to comment

I also have a theory for you to explore, if interested.
I believe Gol and Maia from TPL received their wisdom of Dark Eco from the Dark Makers in Jak 3.
I have little proof to support this, other than their shared goal of remaking the world using Dark Eco, as well as the official Jak 3 strategy guide specifically referencing Gol and Maia inside the Catacombs.
Anyways, I'd be interested to learn your findings on the subject.

That's one of the things I love about the Daxter game. It ties up loose ends. All of the Jak and Daxter spin-offs do this and I feel that every good spin-off should too.
Not to mention it's also a great game.

He was either informed by Kor or Veger, but both had a grim over Jak. With I think Kor was the time travelling one about to destroy the planet (made a legacy by it in Jak 2 when the precursor spoke to Jak in the mar temple). Kor must have spoken to Praxis in Haven during the time he took over. Kor faked his alliance and assured Praxis to seal a promise if he gets eco, Praxis will help him get Jak to end the hero that saves the world. Veger must have been on the sideline, who worked with Praxis and he would eventually pretend to be glorious and betray the people, as he betrayed Damas once before his castout. And from there, he had the child but lost it the underground where the Shadow, timetravelling sage samos could save the boy and bring him to sandover village. Meanwhile, Kor tries to find the rift gate opened to get into that village, and destroy it, but Jak was already out and back to haven... and that brought the future of the apocalypse xd just a theory tho
I always figured Onin told Praxis because it was Jak's destiny to gain the dark Jak (and light Jak) powers. Like that Onin just knew that in her infinite wisdom. And that Onin knew, because Onin knew Mar when she was younger, and Mar is Jak but older (but in the past).

Here's my four dollars on the issue:
So based on the laws of time travel, it's likely Kor is from a timeline where the Metalheads have won, but in order to fulfill a grander scheme of conquering the universe and crushing his arch enemies, the Precursors, he needs the Precursor Stone.
The young Jak we play as, as well as Samos, would be sent back to the past to undo the future that is Kor (Samurai Jak lol)
Kor attempts to stop him by either killing him or capturing him to open the Stone when the Rift Gate opens.
Failing to do either of these things, Kor moves on to Plan B, alerting his servant Kaden to Jak's arrival, and he would alert the Baron; Who would then send Erol to interrogate Onin on Jak's skill with Eco.
He then arrests Jak for the Dark Warrior Program.
Fast forward to mid game, when Kor realizes young Jak is also in this timeline, and the boy opening the Precursor Stone is once again possible, hence, his motive for abducting him.
However, the prophecy is self fulfilling, Jak's skill with Eco allows him some control over the Dark Eco, which ultimately results in Kor's downfall, just as Onin foretold...
Side note: Kor stating that the "siege has been long" could also be subtly referencing his war against Haven City in two separate timelines.

yo you forgot some evidence to the idea that onin informed The baron about Jak, when Jak first meets onin she says “it’s good to see you again Jak” Not only knowing exactly who he is but also that she has met him before despite it being Jak’s first Visit, although Pecker plays it off as one of her Usual spoopy things, the ending cutscene seems to imply that she, pecker, and Samos knew that Jak is indeed Mar the very same, and for Him to Become Mar he had to be tainted with Dark Eco, Afterall what is the Seal of Mar? the yin yang A balance of opposites Dark and Light, why else did the eco not destroy him or physically effect him As much as it did to the other test subjects? because of his powers though it was obviously way too much to regulate by himself but with time he learned to control it and when he regained his light powers he felt better, less angsty and cracked more jokes seemingly having fun, lets not forget that by the time Vegar shows up and told Jak that he was the one who kidnaped him while Damos lied dying in his arms he could of let the dark eco take over, he could of torn him to pieces but he held back despite his rage, because he is no longer the monster he once was during Jak 2 he has become Mar at that point……well not quite yet but maybe soon.
one thing i always found funny is that the explorer in Sandover Village from Jak and Daxter TPL says "would you be kind enough to lend your dear old uncle 90 precursor orbs" the reason i found it funny is that he says UNCLE, because this doesn't make sense for the later games. with Jak being born in the future, his mother and father (damas) were both from the future as well, so how is it that an uncle appeared in all of that?

though Samos was also held prisoner for seemingly longer than jak(as you only see him when you rescue him even though you've gone practically everywhere) which may mean that he and Kira arrived earlier and the guards were simply ready to respond when the same thing happened again(something falling out of the sky isn't hard to see).
Samos was arrested because the guards mistaken him for the Shadow (Younger Samos) And Jak was arrested to be experimented on, Keira have no reason to be arrested, they didn't see anyone fall outta the sky

I feel the need to point out that jak was named AFTER the original Mar. The legendary Mar and Jak ARE TWO different people.

Definitely neither the Baron or Errol would never, ever had trusted Kor. This would be out of character, so Kor telling him is discarded.
