Love Doyle's expertly and magnificently picked version of The Wabash Cannonball, and the gallery of musicians that close out the video. Well done, Paul! 👍
I have rode a train twice in my life, Stone mountain Georgia, and Blue ridge Georgia, Blue ridge to copperhill, I got my Wilson Brothers CD in the mail, I've got the CD player tuned up, God bless you Paul, God bless Doyle and his family, let her go when you get ready, God bless all
"From the great" wabash cannon ball is one of my cemented favs, whether AP, Roy, Boxcar W or Doyle. Appreciated the end Pics with Katie and Corie. :) Thanks Paul, our God Bless you all over there.
Man, I thought I smelled smoke the other day. Had no idea it was coming of Doyle's guitar! What a truly special rendition of that song!!! Loved seeing all the people you've played with, Paul. Of course, my favorites are Tipper, Corie, Katie, and Granny 😉!
Fingerstyle guitar is always just mind boggling to me and watching this is no exception. Just amazing... and such a joy. Thanks for sharing this experience with us.
No telling how old I was before I realized it's not the Wall-bash Cannonball. As a kid, bashing a wall seemed like something a cannonball would do, but I couldn't figure out why the song was about a train. This was a great way to end a wonderful series, Paul, and I thank you for posting it.
Great presentation Gentalmen. And the Ladies . God bless you guys I do desire prayers unspoken. The Oldfirekeeper over the ridge Great Smokey Mountains.
I grew up in Cleveland,Tennessee and your family reminds me of how i grew up with all the music and Love ..Brings back Beautiful memories..Thank you for Sharing your Music and Life❤ God Bless you🙏
❤I TRULY LOVE TRAINS & SONGS ABOUT TRAINS! Love & MISS the ole Rock Island Line that once (before Me) brought People as Well as Goods into My Hometown in MO. Although we lived way out in the Country at Night in the Moonlight or Darkness, I could Hear the Train in Town. Still Love to Hear the Train Whistle! I have many memories of Riding a Train to my oldest Son & Family's House. We had to get to the Depot about 45 miles Away. I took My Oldest Granddaughter with Me Once, She was Just a little girl, but She Loved it.. The Best was the One Trip that My Dear Sweet Momma (now GONE HOME TO BE WITH MY DAD & JESUS And Most of My Family.) She had such Great Memories to Share with Me of Her Youth & The Train Being the Mode of Transportation Across the River. Roy Acuff was My Dad's Favorite and They Shared the Same Birthday, Sept. 15th. I heard The Wabash Cannonball on the Radio many times with Him.. the 1st 3 Record Albums I ever Owned I Received as a Santa Gift at Christmas with A little record player at 13 yrs. Of age. I am Now 65 yrs. Old & Still have That Roy Acuff Album. ❤😊SORRY so Long but wanted to Share..I felt if Anyone would Care to Know My thoughts and Understand it Would Be You Paul. ❤God Bless You ALL there.. YOU TIPPER MATT KATIE IRA CORIE WOODROW & HER HUSBAND & Your Brother Steve & Family & YES DEAR SWEET PRECIOUS GRANNY...😊❤
Elaine, thanks for sharing those memories with us. I still love hearing a train whistle too. Though I never road that train, when I was a kid, the train still ran through Murphy, and you could hear the whistle when you were in town, especially at night. There's a good song about the Rock Island Line. Don't know why I didn't think to include it in the series. :-) My favorite version is by Lonnie Donegan. Hang on to that Acuff album! :-) God bless you and all your family!
Wow, Doyle is such an amazing guitar player and singer! 🎶 I have really enjoyed watching these videos with you all singing and playing together. 😊 Thanks so much for sharing with us. Sending blessings to you all. 💗🙏
I absoultely Loved this series. There are sure alot of train songs, especially in buegrass songs. Loved seeing all the photos at the end. ❤😊 Hope you continue to do a video on Saturdays I look forward to all your videos. God Bless, 🙏 have a great weekend.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Monica. After November, I'll probably stick to Tuesdays and Thursdays for a while. It's a little too much to do 3 videos in a week. I'll do a story-song series in March.
Wow! What a spectacular ending to a great series. Doyle was outstanding, and I don't believe I've ever seen anyone play above the nut like that before. It was a real treat! I used to have a "Best of Roy Acuff" cassette, and "The Wabash Cannonball" and "The Precious Jewel" were the reasons I played that tape until it wore out. Thank you, Paul, for the series, and I'm glad you got to make some fine musical memories. The snippets at the end were delightful, and the train/life analogy a viewer sent to Tipper was beautiful. It brought me to tears. Bright blessings to all!
WOW! This was a thrill to watch. I knew it would be good, it was Great. The more Doyle played, the harder I grinned! ..and the memories at the end of the video are special. Thanks, Paul, for train songs
I agree my dad loved the banjo. Then he’s in heaven probably playing it perfectly. He always wanted to play a banjo. Of course he was by no means a professional. He just loved music.

Woo !
That was amazing. I also loved to hear Jimmy Capps play .
Thanks, Joy! Yes, Mr. Capps was an excellent musician! He played on Doyle's recording of "The Lights of Marfa," probably at other times too. :-)

❤❤loved this!!! Thank yall for the concert
WOW! ❤Loved it
Excellent sharing ❤
Awesome..
VERY GOOD
You could hear the train in Doyle's playing.
I used to play over the bridge but Doyle plays over the nut. You might know that over the bridge requires an arch top guitar.
Wondering family and friends, and memories-❤Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow .For what is your life? It is even a vapor , that appeareth for a little time and vanishes away. James 4:14🩸✝️🩸📖😇🙏
