  • Back in May 2024, I decided to go on a road trip to the Okanagan from Chilliwack with my Toyota electric vehicle bZ4X, fishing for trout and bass. Tagging along with me is ‪@LifeOfLindaLee‬ so I could drop her off to see her mom in the Okanagan.

Love fishing Marquart and Lunbom for bows and also love fishing Osoyoos and Vaseaux for bass! Looks like a great trip Rod I may just try that same loop this year. I think it's great to show that people who have EV's can go fishing and have a great trip.

You'd love hooking up with some southern largies. Morning or evening with a hoola popper. There's not a lot that compares to a ten pound bass hitting a top water bait on a still lake. But I will say that the bass up there are bigger than I thought they'd be. Perfect eating size.

Do some research on bass fishing on Vancouver island we are already landing 10 pounders on poppers 😎.

@LUDAYAK I've done quite a bit of research on the island, but I never looked into inland fishing. Opens up a whole new list of places to stop
      Thanks for sharing this.

My truck was in the shop awhile back, I was given an electric to drive for a few days and a Corolla for the rest of the time. I couldn't wait to get my truck back. 😂

lol the EV has its perks, but it’s not going to do all the jobs that my Tacoma does. I like my current setup now with both the Taco and this bZ4X. The truck pretty much gets used for multi-day road trips that require me to transport the boat. The bZ gets most of the attention when we are home.

Looks like so much fun! I'm now planning a trip with our BZ4X to the Okanagan as well! We will be heading from Vancouver to Kamloops, where we will stay for 4 nights. Never fished for bass before. Where can I find bass along my route? And what's the best lure? Thanks

Awesome. No bass fishing along that route, but pretty awesome trout fishing! You could go to Lac Le Jeune (where I just was this week), Stake Lake, Lodgepole Lake before Kamloops. They all have floating docks where you can fish. Edith Lake just outside of Kamloops is another good one.

@@FishingwithRod We have just planned our 2nd road trip in our EV to Parksville on Vancouver Island in August. We finally have the perfect weather for roadtrips. Any suggestions for places for shore fishing? Any trout or bass lakes or rivers there? Also, do the Coho run yet here in August?

Lots of fishing shows have sponsored vehicles, it’s related, how else do you get to a fishing spot. If it helps Rodney keep providing great content it’s a plus for us watching.
