Wow, Mahler 5 Eshenbach! Beauty, power, tenderness and this Magnificent orchestra with this Sound and SOULFULL Playing!
This is the marriage of Maestro Christoph Eschenbach with composer Gustav Mahler... Such a lovely couple 👫... Love relationships... And the SinfonicadeGalicia is playing in their ceremonial uninion - merging them into ONE... I am sitting, excitedly paralyzed, not possible to move my eyes (Christoph's bizarre, fantastically heuristic body language, exuberance) and ears (clarity, rich sound of the orchestra, conveying Mahler's spiritual sounding, unbelievable moving motifs, authentically genius orchestration) from the beautiful couple... bursts of tears here and there (when I cannot stand to the divinity of the moment, or the unfathomable depth of emotion)... taking one treat, and another... No end... mesmerized...
What a wedding party 🎉...

This orchestra, The Sinfonica de Galicia, is the Most Precious Secret of Truly Great Symphony Orchestras ! And the audio people , lead by Pablo Barreiro shows how must be made a recording of a live perfomance of a S.O.....Wonderful orchestra and recording!
I've been listening to this symphony for 40 years and this orchestra has brought a magnificent new light into my experience. What a fantastic performance, far excelling those I've heard over the years - a new dynamic, an anst I've only dreamt of. A truly Mahler experience I've not heard before!
I wonder how many times I can compliment the clarinetists and trombonists without repeating myself. But seriously, they're the best! Fascinating performance from the whole orchestra!
Looked this up because a young talented trombonist featured on the radio said he finally decided to go all in to be a musician when his uncle took him to see Mahler's 5th. He got hooked.
What a fine trumpet player at the beginning solo! And on a piston value trumpet too. BRAVO
What a magnificent performance of Mahler's 5th. Just Outstanding. This to me has to be the best performance of all, and I've heard a lot of recordings of his 5th symphony. He escuchado esta sinfonía de muchos directores y orquestas de alto nivel , pero debo admitir que esta ha sido una de las mejores que escuchado , tremenda orquesta y ni hablar del director
Fabulosa interpretación de la 5ª del divino Mahler. Christoph Eschenbach conduce a los músicos de la Sinfónica de Galicia por los fecundos y complicados vericuetos de esta partitura grandiosa, a veces profundamente paradójica. Todo está expresado, en mi opinón, en su justa medida: velocidad, ritmo, altura, profundidad, melodía y disonancias. El metal es magnífico, con músicos excelentes que se dejan dirigir hasta la perfección. El viento es aéreo, cósmico, acompaña el sentimiento del espíritu que recorre las esferas de la emoción sin detenerse en contradicciones inútiles. Todo fluye maravillosamente de los brazos, las manos y la mente de este grandísimo director que arrastra, como una pleamar imparable en sus acometidas y retiradas, la ejecución puntillosa de una orquesta entregada, perfectamente ensamblada, respetuosa con el alma de Mahler y también con su dicción exquisita y el contenido intelectual de altísimo nivel que nos transmite, desde los abismos del dolor a las cumbres del éxtasis. Bella e intensa interpretazione della terribile 5 di Mahler .Veramente bravi tutti,ma con i fiati (tromba e tromboni e corni !) i celli e bassi super !! Orchestra superiore a quelle francesi con cui Eschenbach di solito esegue Mahler.... lettura molto coinvolgente e con un finale incredibile per precisione e potenza!
Complimenti anche alla regia delle riprese sempre precisa e impeccabile !
The success of this orchestra is due, to a great extent, to the job of Victor Pablo Pérez, its director for nearly 20 years. This performance conducted by Eschenbach is one of the best I have ever heard.
I hadn't heard of this orchestra yesterday. Now I am in rapture to them. Oustanding, precise and rousing Mahler V!!
Persuasive performance of this magnificent symphony with silky sound of all the strings, mild sound of all the woodwinds and, above all, brilliant sound of al the brass. The experienced maestro directs the perfectly trained orchestra in a well-phrased tempo and with fully effective dynamics. Wonderful!

Hermosísima versión, que no me canso de escuchar. Ver a qué nivel ha llegado esta orquesta llena de asombro, sobre todo para los que por edad hemos vivido el atraso histórico de la formación musical en España. Una versión comparable a la ya mítica de Abbado. Uno desearía vivir en Galicia y no perderse un solo concierto. Y muchas gracias, no se a quién, por compartir estas versiones. ¡Felicidades a quienes hacen posible un milagro como éste!

A very good performance indeed ! Not until recently has Mahler been considered the greatest symphony composer of all time ! His 10 symphonies are among the greatest by any composer in history! Such amazing brilliance for a man who only lived 51 years. His symphony no 1 and 5 and 7 really hit the mark as well as the others too !!!!!

Qué pena que no residamos en La Coruña. No saben los gallegos la inmensa suerte que tienen con ese lujazo de orquesta. Este verano he tenido el privilegio de escuchar en María Pita la Francesca da Rimini y la obertura de La Forza del Destino y el sonido en vivo y en ¡¡¡abierto!!! es espectacular. Wow! What an exemplary performance. I've always loved Eschenbach but he really cuts it here. He gets behind the music to where Mahler really dwells. I felt as if this was how Gustav himself would have performed it. What an orchestra this is now! Virtuosity in action. You took that crazy 2nd movement to where is should always go (but seldom does), with its faux-ending keeping us all waiting till the real finale. Bravo indeed!

I never understood Mahler's music until I read Mahler's Angel, by the writer Nuria L. De Santiago, a writer with soul, heart and race, who has been able to explain with clarity and a wonderful and powerful prose, the unknown and surprising life of the great composer. From reading the real life of Gustav Mahler from the hand of De Santiago, I understood his music and his soul. I recommend it to all the musician's fans.

You are absolutely right. Now he is a member of the Royal Concergebow Orchestra of Amsterdam. Sorry for Galicia Symphony Orchestra. However, despite some casualties, it is still a great orchestra in Spain. I love it.

I'm always surprised at the number of empty seats at the orchestra's concerts: world class conductors, world class orchestra, are the local folks challenged by the music they play?
A Coruña is a tiny provincial town - they should be honored to have this cultural treasure.

Überzeugende Aufführung dieser großartigen Sinfonie mit seidigen Töne aller Streicher, milden Töne aller Holzbläser und, vor allem, brillanten Töne aller Metallbläser. Der ernsthafte Maestro dirigiert das perfekt trainierte Orchester im gut phrasierten Tempo mit völlig effektiver Dynamik. Wunderbar!

Como siempre he dicho, la OSG. es la mejor de España, sus actuaciones, así lo certifican, lo que para esta orquesta es normal, para otras del estado es algo espléndido. Todos estos piropos son cosa de los grandes maestros que la han dirigido, ... cuando los "maestros "lo dicen, es porque de verdad así es.

Qué sonido, qué interpretación, qué dirección. Conozco más de diez versiones de los más grandes. Creo que nunca he escuchado una versión igual. Qué vigor. Es mi sinfonía favorita, la conozco de memoria. Los pelos de punta, la carne de gallina. Qué pena la desaparición del trompeta principal. Mágico. Tuve la suerte de escuchar en directo con la orquesta Scheherezade y en Bilbao la sinfonía fantástica de Berlioz. Las recomiendo vivamente. ¿Cómo hacéis para que suene tan bien? Espero con emoción vuestra visita a Bilbao.

The initial impression is that Eschenbach is moving too much - too active. However, once you adopt the rhythmic cycle of his constant motion you find that he does some wonderful conducting, giving explicit and exact cues to the orchestra. They respond accordingly. A beautiful, live reading of this symphony/

私は、マーラーにおいて、マーラーが解読し得た世界、つまりマーラーという偏向デバイス（装置）によって音化した世界を漂います。それはマーラーを拒絶して壁として立ちはだかった世界、カフカにも似た世界。だからそれはどんな解釈も許容するが理解できない世界、世界が【謎として表出されている世界】です。

Every time I listen to Mahler, I hear his "Beethoven" trying to voice itself.
Durante el Adagietto, en el cambio de atmosfera entre el minuto 56:00 al 56:03 se escuchan en el fondo un eco de personas gritando en un bosque o algún parque. En la versión de Karajan, se escucha algo similar, las voces de unos niños jugando. Alguien puede aclarar a que se debe? que instrumento participa?

En ese momento de la obra, los violines 1eros y violas realizan un glissando de armónicos descendente. Por esa razón se produce una aleatoriedad de esos sonidos (los armónicos) que parecen voces que hablan. Muy interesante para el estilo compositivo de Mahler, en Debussy y otros es mucho más habiltual el empleo de estos tiembres. Saludos
