    Thanks for spending the time explain the problem and procedure. That filled in a lot of gaps from other videos. Nice teaching.

      Yeah, they can be loud..but, they are like family. Even though they always have to talk in all videos. They know what's going on.
      Hope this video helped you. Thanks, Keith 2guys how2

    Hey man, thanks for the vid, my impala is a column shifter so Im sure its a little different, however it does fill in the gaps. It was hard to hear what you were saying with the car on, into muysic and chickens. however Hopefully I can get something from you telling us about the slack!

    Coluld this be why my car shifts into park drive etc kinda hard ? Could it be this needs adjustment

      I would check the transmission fluid level...while car is in park idling..hot...add fluid if needed..I would try to change the transmission fluid, trans filter and trans gasket...use good transmission fluid...add a cup of Lucas Synthetic motor oil stabilizer additive....add 4 quarts, start the car and check the fluid level while idleing... hot mark on transmission stick...keep adding little by little until the transmission is full..not overfull... see if that helps smooth it out.
      Change fluid every 15000 miles or sooner.
      If your car has more then 60000 miles...make sure the fluid has been changed...or the transmission could possible start slipping more.
      Old worn transmission fluid will smell burnt and dark.
      Fix it yourself and save that money!

    I have a 06 impala and it’s been slipping, smells almost like coolant after it’s been running. I’m gonna change fluid and put that Lucas non slip in it but I had to replace radiator, thermostate, hoses. There are no leaks and I have no clue what it could be

    • @2guyshow2thefishkingz89
      @2guyshow2thefishkingz89  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check your transmission fluid. Check the fluid level while vehicle is running in park gear...make sure it is full to cold mark or max level and if the fluid smells burnt..then that's not a good sign.
      I wouldn't use any non-slip additive...that stuff swells the seals in transmission.

      @2guyshow2thefishkingz89  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you overheated the transmission...then it could start to slip. Change the fluid, filter and pan gasket..add new fluid and see if that works.

    Hey bro I got a 2008 Impala that has a 2006 motor in it I just replace the transmission housing and for some odd reason my still leaking now my car is in drive it goes in reverse but that's not want to go forward or does not want to move in Reverse can use cable be a reason why

    • @2guyshow2thefishkingz89
      @2guyshow2thefishkingz89  ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you replace the transmission pan gasket seal and transmission fluid filter and add new transmission fluid ? Or did you swap out the complete old transmission and replace the transmission with a complete used transmission?
      You need to check and fill the transmission fluid to full. The engine needs to be running, transmission needs to be in park..then check transmission fluid level on transmission check stick. Fluid level needs to be in full mark area. Cold mark or hot mark on transmission stick.
      If fluid is low it will slip or not go into gear.

    My 06 SS does not have this shift cable my setup is different

    • @2guyshow2thefishkingz89

      Your SS could be made in late 2005 or early 2006..possible factory setup is different.

      @@2guyshow2thefishkingz89 ... That's exactly what it is and I'm having a problem finding That cable I can't find it Anywhere ...at least the new one... And I really don't want to change the whole set up Which is probably what I have to do if I can't find one

      @@mcphersonsean20 I'm some cases the factory might list some vehicles as made in 2006...but they were actually made in late 2005..Some vehicles might say made in 2006, but actually made in early 2007.
      So, I would call the chevy dealership..use the last 8 digits of the VIN # to find the exact OEM part number and cable set up. If not check for late 2005 or early 2007 cables. The dealer is the best way to find exact part number...call a dealer in another state and act like you want to order the part...to find exact part number if possible...they don't know where you live, they will be able to help..that's what I do!

      Glad to help....easy fix if that's the issue... those transmissions can be weird..if the check engine light is on..I would do a code scan, for any transmission or other codes and fix them.

      Yes I know these things are none for trans issues I mean what to expect when you use a modified v6 transmission behind a V-8

      @@blindguysgarage Yeah, a lot of torque for those trans on a front wheel drive.
      Just keep the trans fluid changed every 15000 miles and it will last.
