Thanks for watching! :-) - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I spent similar on mine the other week, rear main seal, PCV valve, cam magnets, coil packs 🥲
I spent 1800 on my ea888 gen 1 Octavia vrs for the timing chain and valve cover from a specialist with all genuine parts. 2k seems like a fare price for what you've had done.
What miles?
niceee, spent 1.6k on my ea888 gen 2 for timing, guides, and cover plus new injectors. you paid a fair price
It would have been great if you could have shown the parts to see how they look after 100k track car. If the chain was bad after all, any significant wear etc. The hefty bill is peace of mind, you got to pay to play, no ifs and buts, good you stay true to your executing your ideas.
That chicken wire, is fugly, although gives character to the car.
Ive got the old CAWB engine on my Scirocco DSG, and on 76k miles i did my timing chain kit as i started hearing noises from it, and it showed signs of it needed replacing once it was taken off, first thing i did
I would personally swap the chicken wire out to a finer mesh that stops all the bugs before getting into the rads. Be easier to remove all the flying road kill from the outside of the grill. Hope you have fun on the track. Can’t beat a good thrash!
You need to get rid of that Bartek PCV plate ASAP…
Can i have my nans book shelf back off front of your car
Fair price tbf
500hp on stock, wow. Mines stock and just hit 13000.
Congratulations on 100k subscribers!
Did you ever get your issue fixed from your previous nurburgring trip?
Literally just got the exact same bill basically for my mk6 gti, can’t wait to get her back this week!
Did you sell m3?
Does this car fuel efficient when normal driving? I want r35 but its too big for road.
Don’t buy a R35 or 500bhp Golf R if worried about fuel efficiency
Yesterday i drove my 400HP Golf 7R for like 500km on 115kmh cruise and it said it could do like 620km on 1 tank of petrol. Not too bad really
Curious how the Catch can works in colder weather? Here in the USA there are areas that are very cold where the contents in the catch can would freeze causing issues. Additioanlly, how does your car pass emissions with a catch can? Again here in the States where some areas like California have very strict emissions rules. Oil catch cans are an automatic fail. So are your emissions there in the UK just not as strict? Or? Looking forward to the road trip video. Will be EPIC!! Cheers form California👍
Love the channel but you have ruined 2 good cars.. the golf r and the merc....but i get its content
His cars to “ruin” 🤡
In what way are they ruined? Both built for different purposes
Iv ruined cars also , if I listened to my Nans opinion
It's a purpose built track car you mong
How did he ruin them lol it’s his car personal preference he decided to turn it into a track car how a car should be driven lol u know nothin about cars not everything about looks and for show
I think I can see a wrap coming 🤣
A big service, though costly, is worth a lot for peace of mind. Just an idea, but how about spraying a template of your HP logo on that front lower grill? In blue or silver. Looking forward to the Nurburgring vid 😎👍
your tasteful modifications look great tho yes comes at a price
£2085 .00
Wtf
They charge u each screw they use
Surely that comes under sundries
That’s like a electrician charging you each clip to clip a cable u just wudnt
Perfectly normal............
It had it done at 92,000 miles when I got the car because of the known tensioner problems.
Big bill 👀👀
2k is not a big bill
A big bill is 10k plus
sounds like a Range Rover owner lol. Joking ahah
Big bill is Bill Murray
Plz buy the id r .
£2085 save yourselves from 😴 thank me later
I’ll guess, it’s having a wrap…. 🤷🏼♂️
20 years ago this car would have been a Vauxhall Corsa 😂
I really don’t get the appeal of EA888’s. They’re so boring and soulless. To anyone that owns one: Buy a V6 or a V8. Enjoy the symphony and then if you want more power, go FI. Or buy something like a MK2 Focus RS, and enjoy the wonderful engine. Not to mention, VW made so many MK7 R’s that they lost their exclusivity so long ago. The editions of the GTI like the Clubsport or TCR at least make you turn your head. Soulless.
EA888.3 is the most tunable 4 cylinder engine platform on the market. The aftermarket is massive, and they produce enormous power on stock components, with simple bolt on's and software. It's more about ease of tuning, aftermarket support and cost efficiency. A straight 6 is the ideal engine configuration for boost applications and sound-see RB26, B58, 2JZ, VR6. Also, petrol is sold by the litre in Europe and Asia. V6 and V8 cars are taxed and insured more heavily, and fuel is double the price.
There is actually a shortage of MK7 and MK8 Golf R's. Supply and demand. VW cannot produce enough MK8 Golf R's to meet demand, and Mk7 Golf R's with low mileage are still selling for their MSRP from 2019. Extremely desirable cars. IYKYK.
How did people survive before vr6 dear oh dear.
How many Golf Rs have you owed ?
