I love how the dad is afraid of leaving the pond because of predators, But there's absolutely nothing stopping the predators from coming into the pond. 😂😂😂
I mean in the places where ducks live there aren't a large amount of aquatic predators that can threaten an adult duck, and there aren't a lot of land predators that can outswim a wary duck once it's in water ( they'd usually be hunted by ambush ). the logic tracks lol it's why they live in the water in the first place / the first step to being a baby duck is heading to the water ect. hell, ducks even shed their flight feathers for a portion of the year!
THANK YOU. I was surprised CinemaSins didn’t call out the way the movie pretended they didn’t totally kill the chef. He’s not getting out of that net or somehow climbing all the way back up to re-enter the helicopter, he’s dangling until it runs out of fuel and crashes. (Although I would posit that since he was trying to return the ducks to NYC and his restaurant at the time they made their escape, it would likely crash over land rather than water. Potentially killing even MORE people)
A little surprised Mr CinemaSins didn't do a "thing the writers said somehow makes it into the script" sin when Mack says "Migration? What a stupid idea"
At 16:37, they are sort of mimicking something that eagles do during courtship. They sort of dance around super high up, locking talons, and fall down to the earth while spinning in a cartwheel-like fashion, and release at the last possible moment. How to Train Your Dragon makes a reference to this too! I don’t think ducks do this though, lol.
One of the big things my dad mentioned is how the Mallards take off. Most puddle ducks (or dabbling ducks) do not need to run across the water to take off. Coots, mergansers, and other divers usually run on water to take off. You didn't show it but would be around 4:22 point
5:23 funny thing, literally the day after I watched this movie, a friend of mine told me they saw a whole family of ducks get snapped up by a crocodile
I wish you guys were bigger nerds, because that bird eater section would have instead been a rendition of Jeremy singing "Snake Eater" from Metal Gear Solid 3. And I would have marked out.
Sins video ideas: -Life (2017) for Alien Romulus's release in August -Alien Resurrection (1997) for the same reason as above -The Mask of Zorro (1998) -The Fanatic (2019) -The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
01:28 Nothing in my life has prepared me to see the names Carol Kane, David Mitchell, and Isabela Merced on-screen together. I am very aware of all three of those actors, but they exist in such separate spheres of my understanding that I could never have imagined they could ever be at all linked.
Instead of being catfished (and, by that, I mean eaten by a catfish) ducks often bring suspiciously acquired lantern oil to herons so that the bed pans of said ducks don't get heated up.
This doesn’t even begin to cover the amount of inaccurate duck biology. The entire family is literally an “not how ducks work” moment which my boyfriend had to sit through and listen about while watching the entire movie. Horribly inaccurate, but fun movie.
@@nikol64 Good point, but it’s unlikely that all their wings would be clipped imo since they’re for farms and not pets. I agree that they should not have been able to fly as well as they did in the film though. There’s no way they could’ve since they’ve probably never practiced flying a lot. And even if they were capable of flying decently, they definitely wouldn’t have flown far away.
And mallards are native across the Northern Hemisphere, in winter mallards actually overwinter on the coastal marshes of the Gulf Coast. But these marshes still have a drab winter scene just no snow so Disney used Jamaica to make their paradise bright and colorful
You missed a big one In the beginning, Pam wraps her feet around Mack's mouth, and she has talons in the shot, but every other shot she has webbed feet
If it wasn’t owned by Illumination it would’ve actually been a perfect VR rollercoaster experience. I think only now Universal Studios would think of the idea & leave any independent cinema or theme park one inventive idea less thought of
9:44 I followed them on a map distance calculator, starting in Queens, and it surprisingly led to Jamaica! Obviously I couldn’t get the whole “SSE/W” exact, but even then, cool that they included it! :)
sad yall didn't catch the physics of helium not physicsing. If he can hold the balloon (without floating) before deflation, why does he float after inhaling a smaller amount of helium?
Also: White Pekin ducks physically cannot fly! And also they are a very popular duck breed served at most restaurants. So seeing them fly in the movie was a huge sin
A few seconds ago I was arguing with a guy on cinemasin Instagram constantly repeating "IT'S A JOKE" 😂😂😂😂 you caught me of guard with that one 😭 😂6:426:44
It amuses me remembering how the director was adamant out not putting in any fart jokes, which I very much respected, but also has a moment in the movie involving going to the bathroom and whether to do it in the air or not. Well, you got to make compromises somewhere.
I go to a lake a lot, and one of the best parts is seeing and getting to feed the the duck family's, but sadly a few of the ducklings get eaten, there was a time when a river otter or something similar grabbed one of the ducklings and took it away to eat.
I dont think there are any ducks that are that pale with the teal but there is a breed that has a blue/green/teal coloring on the wings all over the body between both males and females called a cayuga duck. I think Disney took their inspiration from them. just a guess, I am no expert nor do I work or speak for Disney
2:25 as you didn’t know by know, on Reddit there are meaning guesses: Blue winged teal, because they fly to Jamaica a lot Blue Swedish duck: because of the blue feathers Cayuga duck: because same thing as from 2. Am a bird brain but I guess this duck species is made up because it’s a cartoon☹️ I guess the guess’s from above were actually good but we will never know.
another sin would be the amount of time the birds hover, although almost all birds but only for a second or two. hummingbirds are the only birds that can actually stay in a spot for however long they like. 11:30
(their idea for this movie) Rio meets Finding Nemo... YES! Side Note: i just reached the end and heard that he said it should abeen called "Finding Rio" 😂

You missed the fact that with all the amenities available to the ducks that are supplied to the chef are very anthropomorphic and if the people in the movie universe are aware of all that then they would all be vegan.
“Because all ducks are racist.”
I thought that was geese.
That's racist. Yeah, the irony.
LOL I would think so too! 😂
No no ducks are racist, geese are just @ssholes
Geese are just evil, best guard dog I ever had but they're evil feathered bastards.
Both are
I love how the dad is afraid of leaving the pond because of predators, But there's absolutely nothing stopping the predators from coming into the pond. 😂😂😂
The plot sure is
I mean in the places where ducks live there aren't a large amount of aquatic predators that can threaten an adult duck, and there aren't a lot of land predators that can outswim a wary duck once it's in water ( they'd usually be hunted by ambush ). the logic tracks lol it's why they live in the water in the first place / the first step to being a baby duck is heading to the water ect. hell, ducks even shed their flight feathers for a portion of the year!
The dad leaves the pond because the dad’s character evolves unlike the wife or kids who are only one dimensional and are narcissistic
15:45 You missed the fact that the chef is now hanging and no one is there to pilot the helicopter. It's going to crash in the ocean and chef will die
You could say his goose is cooked
i havent gotten that far into the video but what the crap is that sentence
THANK YOU. I was surprised CinemaSins didn’t call out the way the movie pretended they didn’t totally kill the chef. (Although I would posit that since he was trying to return the ducks to NYC and his restaurant at the time they made their escape, it would likely crash over land rather than water. Potentially killing even MORE people)
It's fine he's got autopilot
Helicoptors crashing is just their way of getting to the ground. Movies have taught me that no-one actually dies in a helicoptor crash.
A little surprised Mr CinemaSins didn't do a "thing the writers said somehow makes it into the script" sin when Mack says "Migration? What a stupid idea"
that would've been hilarious! 😂

I think this might also be with fighting one another
This title could have multiple meanings 💀
Maybe if they added (2023) after Migration in the title, then people would know this video is about the 2023 animated movie.
True 💀
LOL
Oh shit you're right-
How?
Yo that Jurassic Park cut away edit.
That was so good.
That idea deserves a lot of respect
Straight fire
18:32
So that’s where the .gif of the little bird going, “You look mad, you need a HUG!!!” came from.
It's pronounced 'gif'
One of the big things my dad mentioned is how the Mallards take off. Most puddle ducks (or dabbling ducks) do not need to run across the water to take off. Coots, mergansers, and other divers usually run on water to take off. You didn't show it but would be around 4:22 point
Maybe they made them do that in the movie to make the whole taking off sequence look even cooler than it already is, I dunno.
You're right about ducks being like rabbits Jeremy. Now I actually kind of get the whole Bugs Bunny & Daffy Duck relationship.
"This bullshit" is always my favorite type of sin😂
And that one deserved at least 100 sins haha
5:23 funny thing, literally the day after I watched this movie, a friend of mine told me they saw a whole family of ducks get snapped up by a crocodile
😂😂😂 oh that’s great!!! 😂😂😂
O-oh
I literally saw this in the theatre and said out loud: "CinemaSins is going to have WAY too much fun sinning this movie"
Did anyone react?
11:32 That cracked me the hell up. I love the Hall and Oats reference, a man of culture you are.
The chef doesn't sound or looks like Gordon Ramsey is worth like 101 sins.
I'm kind of glad that I wasn't the only one that thought of Rio when watching this movie. Despite that, I enjoyed this movie alot to be honest.
My kid pointed that part out. I'm trying to figure out the "loosely based on The Odyssey," claim on IMDB.
First Illumination movie without a fart joke, they are evolving. Baby steps but evolving nonetheless
Wait, I thought that was the Mario Movie?
@@andrewmulert OTHER than the Mario movie.

I was expecting this movie to be so much funnier. But they showed all the funny moments in the trailers
That's Illumination for you. Their trailers are usually funnier than the movies...
And that is why I never watch the trailers
As a Jamaican, this movie was severely disappointing.
Okay... that Jurassic Park edit got me
6:32 I think duck duck goose was pretty good evidence that ducks are the bitch of the bird world.
It's a cupcakke song, bro 😂
4:08 you got me with the subtitles 😂

i also wonder how did the farm ducks take off, like aren't their wings clipped or something??? wouldn't they be too heavy to fly anyway???
@@nikol64 Good point, but it’s unlikely that all their wings would be clipped imo since they’re for farms and not pets. You forgot to mention that Scarlet Macaws (which are my favorite animal BTW) are native to Central and South America
Delroy is either a misplaced scarlet macaw or a Jamaican red macaw, which is a hypothetical species that is extinct if it ever existed at all.
And mallards are native across the Northern Hemisphere, in winter mallards actually overwinter on the coastal marshes of the Gulf Coast. But these marshes still have a drab winter scene just no snow so Disney used Jamaica to make their paradise bright and colorful
That macaw was an painted eagle. No macaws have a beak long like that. Godamnit.
Despite all the sins, I think we can still agree that this was one of Illumination’s better movies
You missed a big one
In the beginning, Pam wraps her feet around Mack's mouth, and she has talons in the shot, but every other shot she has webbed feet
The Jamaican bird giving the direction is very accurate of how we give direction😭😭😭
18:30 That transition was fucking awesome
I was also wondering how Pam managed to get into the kitchen before Mack could
That part totally didn't make any sense!
No "Duck" bonus round? Im appalled, that you still havent sinned Titan A.E. and Eight Legged Freaks
